Furnace stopped working on a day with 18º temp outside. We called Adam Mech and they sent a technician the following day. Through the night we saw that the igniter was broken and for that reason the furnace was not starting. We informed technician when he arrived. He had not looked at the igniter yet and started the inspection by saying that the system was old (it is) and we needed a new one that will cost ONLY $ 20,000; we could pay through a 5 year-period with no interest. We told him that the system was operational and just needed the igniter, a part that would not cost nearly the amount he was quoting us. He told us to reconsider installing a new system for ""maybe, $ 15,000"" (second price in just one sentence). Upon our insistence that he repaired the furnace, he said he will order the igniter and will install it for $ 450 in a second visit. First visit took 15 minutes. He charged us $ 99 for that first visit plus another $ 13 for some fee he pulled out of the hat right there. Next day we went to an HVAC supply store and bought the igniter for $ 23. We installed it following instructions in a youtube video; it took us 5 minutes top. I felt mechanic was dishonest. He wanted to push a new system down our throats and charged us an extravagant fee taking advantage of our moment of need. Thankfully, we checked the cost of the part and how easy it was to install it before we proceeded to the second visit and the outrageous $ 400+ estimate that was quoted. We are working class people and would not expect someone taking advantage of us in a time of need. I felt very bad about this technician and about the service provided; I thought I shouldn't trust him. Not calling Adam Mech again.

They installed central A/C air purifier & cleared clogged A/C drain during regular maintenance. We then had them replace the A/C compressor and air handler, which they completed in about four hours. All staff were extremely professional and responsive.
