I'm sorry to have to say I had a bad experience with Acunas Plumbing and am very unhappy with the outcome. Ismael had his team do work that I had told him not to do, and therefore obligated me to pay a large amount of money for extra work that I didn't want done and that is not useful to me.

I don't have any reason to believe that he took advantage of me, I hope it was just a misunderstanding/miscommunication. And like most miscommunications, I think there's responsibility on both sides, even through he wouldn't take any. I'm kicking myself for not providing more detailed instructions and trusting that his 'OK' meant he understood the verbal instructions I gave him. I should have asked for a written statement of exact scope of work to make sure there was no ambiguity. At the same time, I believe an average person should have been able to understand the instructions I provided, and my expectation is that he should have asked questions if anything was unclear and generally done due diligence to make sure that the work he was doing was what I wanted done.

The final bill did match the cost estimate for all the work that was done, and I appreciate that Ismael did volunteer to take $100 off the bill if I paid him in cash. It was something at least. But it doesn't come close to all the money I lost. I just have the total bill, I don't know the exact portion that is the work I didn't want done, but I'm guessing it's in the $700-1,000 range that I'm now out.

As far as the quality of the work itself, it's only been a week since it was done but so far so good. Visually it looks fine to my untrained eye. His team laid new pipe underground, and I was impressed how well they restored the dirt such that I could hardly tell it had been dug up in the first place.

If you hire Acunas Plumbing, please don't make my mistake. Get everything in writing up front in a level of detail that cannot be misconstrued. Protect your own interests, because Acunas demonstrated (to me at least) that he does not prioritize his client's satisfaction.

Ismael is an absolute Savior! We had a gas line leak and had no heat over the Thanksgiving holiday. No only did he show up first thing on Monday morning when he said he would, he was able to line up his crew to complete the job on the same day. The quality of workmanship was exceptional. The crew was so respectful and maintained total compliance with Covid safety guidelines.

After nine years of experience with Acuna's, I'm finally writing a long overdue review.

Exceptional service, trustworthy and honest. Mr. Ismael and his crew are excellent and a pleasure to deal with. I've lived in an apartment complex for nine years that uses two plumbing companies: Acuna's is one of them.

Whenever I have an issue I learned to request Acuna's because he ALWAYS does it ""right"" the first time. The other company has done work that needs to be re-done after a short time (they use cheap parts and have given me the runaround, at times, which I realized after Acuna's corrected a problem I was told couldn't be fixed. It was an EASY fix, too).

Even though I'm not paying the bill, I treat my rental as if it was mine and can't stand subpar work so Acuna's is who I request, even if I have to wait longer for service.

I can't speak to Acuna's pricing but Mr. Ismael has been honest, trustworthy and reliable. He has high standards and his and his crew's work is impeccable.

ACUNA plumbing is the best and I have been using him for over 30 years, I would never ever call anyone else because I totally trust him, he is totally old school customer service. ISMAEL is very fair. I owe him this review. it cost me 5 minutes of my time. I recommend my friends and family to him. Business owners use him. I guarantee you, my kids will use him when they move out. I also forgot to mention, it is a family owned business and his employees are family.
