Nothing was draining. We used a plumbing company through our home warranty and they came out twice to unsuccessfully not fix the problem. It was 5 days of dealing with the inability to flush toilets, take showers as long as we wanted, wash clothes..anything dealing with water was a problem. The sewage was coming out our laundry room sink and we were dumping it in the drain outside of our home as it spilled on the laundry room floor. Not fun experiencing this issue with young children.

I googled sewer specialists and this company appeared. I called twice and they came out the next day after I explained this was a serious issue. He actually came right over after explaining the issue over the phone. They used a snake which was totally different then what the other company used. He also used a camera to look at the pipes since this was our 3rd year having this issue in December. We have a CD. The issue was fixed within 2 hours. I cant tell you the relief we feel because plumbing issues like this is the worse. He suggested we use a foaming root killer twice a year and we did not need to replace our pipes right now as the other plumbing company had suggested. We did have roots in the pipes and he cleared it out.

In addition, we found out that the other plumbing company was snaking the wrong drain! They were running the snake in our home but also snaking the wrong drain outside. Active Sewer found the sewer drain which was covered in grass right by the rain drain. So if they arrive digging in your grass and using a metal detector like device its for a good reason. We never knew or even saw the other drain after living here almost 9 years, it was always covered in grass and the other plumbers in the past did not know either..

I would use them again.

A buyer home inspection report for my property indicated a sewer line problem. The buyers wanted over $7000 and offered NO documentation or photos.

My attitude: trust but verify.

On a sweltering hot July day, Tim Black and his handy associate came quick and ran a snake line to determine and analyze the problem. They sent snake camera back and again, flushed out debris and isolated the problem to a small section.

So there is a problem to fix - but relatively small. Active sewer and drain cleaning saved me thousands in potential costs. And they are a hoot to see at work!

I had a great experience with Active Plumbing and Drain Cleaning! Yesterday we discovered a sewage back-up due to a clog in the main sewage drain from the house and first called Roto Rooter, who quoted us a very high amount. We called Active Plumbing in a panic and they were very friendly and explained that they'd be happy to give us a second opinion. They came out today and fixed the drain for $150! Our neighbor even took one of their business cards because she was so impressed by their work. We will absolutely call them for our future plumbing needs!

Plumber came to check for water damage to downstairs bathroom ceiling. Verbally concluded water leak was not due to pipe leak but compromised upstairs bathtub perimeter seal. He sealed 2 of 3 sides of tub touching wall with clear seal tube. Total time spent on premises was 21 minutes (time stamp by text messages sent of his arrival and diagnosis). He never asked where water shut off is nor said he needed to shut off water. Plumber left without write up of diagnosis or work. Then he wrote up invoice for home warranty stating 'replaced cracked pipe, gaskets, fixed overflow' and quoted 1.5 hours work. Charged home warranty company ~$380. When Active Plumbing was confronted, company stood by plumber's claim.
Turns out that most tub leaks occur due to water leaking on bathroom floor not through far tub/wall seal, since tubs have an indentation around their rim!

Last night I called Active up after hours about having two clogged drains. First thing thus morning I got a call from Tim (the call center wasn't lying when she said he would call early) and within an hour and a half he was at my door. (Tim actually came highly recommended from another plumber which was a good sign right away). Not only did he unclog the main drain and the wash tub, he replaced the trap which was starting to erode as well. Our home was left spotless when he left as Tim and his crew were absolutely great about their being neat and thorough in their workmanship, like old school, love it. Best part of him coming was that we have been in our home since 1993 and no one, not the water Dept., other plumbers over the years and even PGW has been able to find the main water shut off buried in our front yard. I have to give Active all the credit in the world, they found it!, in 5 minutes!! He is a real gentleman and i will definitely give him 10 stars but they stop at 5.

Please do yourself a favor and call these guys! After stressing out over an extremely high estimate for sewage backing up, I searched the Internet for help and decided to contact Active to get a second opinion. I am so thankful I did. They came out quickly and worked hard until they freed up the lines. Everything in my house is draining better than ever. Everyone I had contact with from the initial call to the response was very nice and these are definitely honest people who do great work which are difficult qualities to find anymore. They saved me a lot of money and a lot of headaches. I highly recommend Active and would definitely call them again.

These guys are GREAT. They were referred to me by a Plummer I use at work because I needed someone to camera scope my sewage drain. I had been having drain backups intermittently for a while. They not only scoped and found the problem, but removed it as well.
It was a piece of concrete curb the size of a brick...
I only ask them to scope, that is all they charged me for. Removing the object was no charge. They could have. I am sure it was not that easy to remove. It was located just before the trap connection to the city sewer line. Not an easy point to work from.
