Tim did a plumbing job for us. We live in a single family in lincoln park. He unhooked the water line to Our dishwasher and after leaving we noticed it no longer worked. He made an appointment to come back and stood up our nanny who waited 2 hours with a 9 month and 2 year old. I called him for 4 days and he never fixed what he broke. Of course he quickly cashed our check. This guys unprofessional. Quoted low and settled high. Do the right thing and fix what you broke. Not this guy. Take the money and run!!!

I spoke with Tim over the phone to get a quick job done. She was very professional and to say the least he knew exactly what I wanted and how to fix it. I schedule the time and day for him to come. he was on time and fix a job within 3 hours or so.The price he charges is competitive but I wish he was a little bit cheaper. However I would hire him again.

On July 8th I phoned Tim @Action Pro because of a leaky toilet. Tim sent his Uncle out the next day to fix the problem. The problem was fixed and in the course of the Uncle leaving my bathroom - his arm hit the shelf and he knocked off the clock and broke the toilet tank top. Of course I was unhappy but felt like accidents do happen. Tim's Uncle was most apologetic and we called Tim. Tim assured me that he'd have the toilet tank top replaced and all would be well. Well it is now almost October and my toilet tank top has not been replaced by Action Pro. Tim has repeatedly avoided my calls. I was told he had a family emergency - then I was told the tank top was in and I was told on more than 1 occasion that Tim was on the way. What is most disturbing about all of this is the blatant disregard of me as a repeat customer. I am really saddened by Tim's total lack of professionalism. I could understand that it may take time to find a replacement but to totally not return any of my calls and not have any interest in resolving the issue is most disturbing.
So if you call Action Pro (and you're lucky enough to receive a return call) - make sure that you proceed with caution. The fact is Action Pro maybe will fix what is the plumbing problem, but God forbid THEY break something in your home - they will NOT respond or be held accountable. In all this trying to reach out to Tim, I found out he is not licensed as a plumber in the City of Chicago - the address provided on the yelp site and others is not a valid address.

A very disappointing experience.

I had called around to get price quote. I spoke to Tim today and explained to him what the problem was at the house. He understood what I was saying and we both agreed on a time when he would come by. My mom was able to meet him and his son and they were able to get to work with rodding out the main line of roots. The job took less than 2 hours to get done. He was very professional as well as his son. His price was also fair!! I will call him again. Mark

We called Tim on a Friday night to fix our clogged kitchen sink. He was there within two hours and had it fixed shortly thereafter. He was a true professional about his work and really helpful in explaining ways to ensure we didn't get another clog--even though it could impact his future business. These 5 stars are well deserved.

I called Action Pro Plumbing on a Saturday afternoon to have them look at a leak coming from bathroom wall. They told me they could come at about 2pm the next day and they would call me when they were on their way. I never received a call from them. I left them two voicemails asking for an update and to confirm whether they were still coming, but I never received a reply. Needless to say they also never showed up. I obviously would not recommend using them if they can't even call to let me know they weren't coming.

nightmare from non caring poor quality plumber. Did not keep first appointment at all and never called waited all day for nothing. Second appointment he showed up late and said he had to come back next day. Finally he agreed to start the work. We had all brand new plumbing and just remodeled the bathroom, all we wanted was for him to install toilet, bath tub, and hook up sink lines. He started work and did not know how to solder copper pipes so he left to go get his uncle who he kindly told me was a plumber. What should of been a 4 hour job turned in to a two day big trouble job. He complained this is wrong, that is wrong and it took them forever to do the job. His bill was over budget and about the same price as a union certified plumber. This would not of been so bad but he put (definately) wrong facet on bath tub which did not even match up to the holes in tub, it had open areas around the tub and faucet holes. He told me it was fine which it was not. Also it was a claw foot tub and he mounted the tub on drain so high the drain was holding the tub up so feet did not meet the floor, and the feet kept falling off. YELP YELP....ANYWAY we paid his bill more less to just get him out of there so he did not damage anything else. $665.00 shot for nothing. Than I had to call another plumber to fix his mistakes, new plumber got right faucets, and fixed the height of tub and got the feet to stay on tub fine, at last after two plumbers success and bathroom is done now. If you need problems and more headaches than you had before, just call him, I am sure he will treat you great, NOT!

I appreciate Tim's entrepreneurial spirit and hustle. With that said, we called him in August to fix a leak. The leak forced People's gas to turn our gas off. Since Tim's low on cash, he doesn't have a lot of official equipment so he relied on us telling him where we thought our leaks were. He listened and fixed only the areas we nonprofessionals showed him, and said he pressure tested to People's Gas standards. I paid $500 bucks plus other costs for materials. Next day, People's Gas comes and it's not to the pressure they require. Tim can't come out, so we're with no gas/hot water. I have to pay People's Gas to fix other spots. So problem #1 wasn't ever really fixed yet I paid $500.

Flash forward a month later, we smell more gas. I call Tim. Tim comes, again, he has no official equipment so he's relying on us to tell him where we ""think"" the gas is coming from. Or he's spraying water looking for bubbles. He finds some spots, and says it's going to cost another $500 to fix - it's apparently a deal. I can't afford to pay this guy every time a new appears so we pass.

I call another company, Perrin Gas and he has official gas detection equipment, pressure testers, and finds several leaks. He charges me significantly less than Tim to fix the same problem, + repaired an air vent that Tim literally duct taped to my basement chimney base. Perrin provides a ""satisfaction guarantee"" in that, if the problem persists, he comes back out to fix with no hassle.

I don't recommend Action Pro and really felt like we got hustled to some degree, but fully accept that Tim is likely working very hard to feed himself and his family - just not very thorough or official at what he's trying to do.

Yelpers beware. This guy was a no show, no returned call, no returned email. I called Action Pro based on Yelp reviews. I called first thing in the morning on a Thursday and Tim's wife(?) put him right on the phone. I talked through my issue with Tim, he said he knew exactly what I was talking about and since it was not urgent, he suggested the next evening (Friday) to come over to fix. I insisted on sending him a picture of the issue in case my lack of plumbing knowledge may not have correctly conveyed the issue. When text didn't work, he provided an email address. He replied to my email with a message and ""see you tomorrow evening."" I never heard from him again.

Called Tim and scheduled an appointment - He took down my information and said he would arrive around 1 PM the next day - he never showed up, no call - I called about every half hour for 3 hours straight beginning at 2 PM - no answer - left a message - no call back - very dissapointing. Stay away.
