After searching for several options, my landlord decided to go with Tom's estimate. Tom arrived 15 minutes early with his helper, and I showed them the water heater. They assessed the current situation and got right to work. Everything was completed on schedule and they cleaned up all their tools and took away the old hot water heater, and now things are back to normal. If you are looking for low cost but good work, give them a try. Their costs were completely reasonable.

My house had a sticker from Tom when he installed the last water heater in my house 13 years ago with a previous owner. I could tell from the fittings used that he did quality work and though he didn't have many reviews (he doesn't ask for them), I decided his longevity in the business and quality were good enough for me.

He was very direct and upfront about his total cost and that it included all the extras that most places (Home Depot guys) up-charge for on the job.

He and his son showed up today on a Sunday morning and were finished within 2 hours despite having to do some custom fittings.
