Very disappointed with this business. I simply called to see if they could do a job and described the type of work that needed to be done. I was informed that it would have to be a service call that we would have to pay for, not even guaranteeing if they could do the work!!!
This is ridiculous. He stated 'nothing's free isn't it'. First of all, terrible grammar. Second of all, what a terrible business ethic and attitude. Most businesses offer free estimates, but to the person I spoke to he stated there was 'no such thing'. Clearly, his general knowledge is lacking, as well.
It seems like they are out to scam you. I hope everyone stays away from this company in fear of being terribly ripped off. Unfortunately, based off most of the reviews, it looks as though it is too late for a few unlucky customers.
Terrible business. Terrible owners.
Amor L.This company is to expensive. I will not recommended...Is other companies at there that can do the same job more cheaper..Plese save your money and look for another company..
Was told the service call would be $90. Marco came to my house, determined the job was more extensive than he anticipated and wrote a quote out. He would not give a copy of the quote to my mother (who was at my house since I was at work) and then tried to tell her the service call was $120. All around seemed shady and I would not recommend. Never got to see the quality of his work as the quote (that I never got to physically hold) was absolutely outrageous. So basically we paid for a service call for Marco to give me an outrageous quote. Never again.
I've used Mario several times to assist with investigations and he's always been prompt and honest with me. He has a remote video scope which many plumbers do not have. I feel like I can trust the guy and he knows his stuff.
5 stars for the job well done, 1 star for pricing.
The job was very well done, he's very knowledgeable, professional, polite and fast.
The problem is the pricing. VERY expensive considering the time needed for the job.
Here's how it works.
He comes at your house and looks at the problem. The service call is $90. You owe him that no matter what. Then, after he sees the problem, he takes out a book. In this book there are all the jobs he can do with the pricing. Then he takes a blank receipt and puts down all the jobs required with the prices (parts included in price). He totals them including the $90 service call and then makes you sign it.
Now here is a tip (straight from his mouth) : even after you sign it you are NOT obligated to go through with it. You have 3 days to cancel it. If you change idea or find somebody else cheaper within 3 days you only owe him the $90.
So if you want a job well done and don't mind paying a lot then go with him.
Me personally I think I will try somebody else cheaper next time. I don't think he's the only good plumber around...
Mark H.The plumber I dealt with was rude and showed up three hours late. They charge $120 just to come by and if you don't have them perform any work they will still charge the $120. They wanted to charge $396 to solder one copper fitting for me, I said no and when I said I wasn't going to pay $120 for no work being done the plumber called the cops on me. I think they over charge so you will refuse and then still have to pay despite them not doing a thing. This is a scam avoid this company.
Overpriced, no humanity! On 02/23/15 my well pump at the house stopped working and since my 85 year old mother lives with us it was imperative the water be restored as soon as possible.
Several plumbers in the area were called but Action Plumbing was the first to respond. Mario's initial quote simply for walking through my doors was $120.00, which I thought at first to be high but I needed the water to get turned back on.
Mario got into the well pit and noticed the well pump was not running, he TAPPED on the pump switch and the pump went on. He then said the pressure gauge had stopped working and needed to be replaced. His quote to replace a $10.00 water pump gauge was $256.25. When asked if I could forgo replacing the gauge for the time being, he said the house call would now cost $180.
There was very little I could do, Mario spent a little over an hour at the house (of which 20 minutes was used installing the water pump gauge) and when he left I was short $376.35.
To make matters worst ... the well pump stopped working less then TWO HOURS after Marion from Action Plumbing left. Never will I use their services again and I will certainly not recommend them to anyone.
Polite, courteous, and fine job done on snaking a basement drain and getting rid of my water problem. He also pointed out several other things that should be redone based on the previous owner's poor do-it-yourself work, which I appreciated.
I see a folks complaining about the price, but plumbing requires a lot of specialty knowledge and muck work, so... unless you know plumbing you're going to pay for a specialist... and this guys appears to know what he's doing.. I thought his price was fair. AND he showed up on a Saturday within 1 hour of my phone call.
All in all, a good job and I plan to hire him again.
Jim W.I'm grateful to have found an honest and reliable plumbing contractor in the Lehigh Valley. I've hired Action Plumbing and Heating on several occasions and I've never been disappointed. If you want prompt, professional, quality plumbing or heating work done in your home, I would recommend Action Plumbing and Heating.
I had an emergency over a weekend, where a pressure relief valve and pressure switch on a well pump in my basement would leak about half a bucket each time the well pump kicked on. I was worried about flooding my basement if the valve failed. Mario said it would be $120 for the visit and then extra for the job. That sounded reasonable, given this was an emergency.
He came the next day and changed the pressure switch (a Square D), pressure gauge, and relief valve. They cost $248, $256, and $ 233, for a total of $859! He was done in 25 minutes.
I don't mind paying a premium for emergency service, but their charges are outrageous. Professional, but extremely expensive. I would not hire them again.
