TL;DR: Incompetent sales and HVAC technicians resulting in expensive issues that have yet to be resolved. Lots of money, time and electricity wasted, steer clear.
The full story: About 7 years ago I had a furnace installed by Triple T. It was an 80% efficient Bryant unit. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but simple and reliable. Triple T set everything up for air conditioning, as in, re designed all the duct work and left room on top of the furnace for a coil. Worked great. Three years go by and we want to upgrade to central AC. We had Action come out and give a bid to install AC. Not three minutes into the conversation, they were already talking about replacing the furnace, this and that about how the new AC stuff isn't compatible (lies, btw) and they didn't recommend it. Long story short, they duped us into ripping out a 3 year old Bryant to install their ""superior Amana"". That was about $8,000 all said and done.
That right there would have been the end of it... if the unit actually worked. The first day it was installed, the installers left it in non working condition. The compressor outside wouldn't kick on. Perhaps it was workign when they tested it, but hours after they were gone it wasn't working. Call them out again, they install a capacitor. The compressor now runs. They leave again, it's still not working. The compressor is running, you can hear the refrigerant flowing in the lines, but no cold air. The expansion block in the coil was defective, or improperly installed. They came out and took care of that. Over the next week or two, the coil would freeze up and air would stop flowing. They said that the return air duct work was insufficient and that it was going to be (thousands) to fix it. At that point we told them to come tear it out and give us our money back. Another sales person called and talked with a silver tongue promising that they'd take care of it. Over the next month there was another handful of visits. They cut holes in the ceilings, holes in the floor, basically hacked up the house to get the air flow they needed. The unit was still freezing over. Finally another technician comes out to look at the coil. Turns out the expansion block was again, either defective or improperly installed. Finally it's fixed and working mostly right, months after the install, by that time cooling season was almost over. The next year we go to turn the unit on for the cooling season and the compressor again wouldn't turn on... back out here they came. Not even sure what they did that time, but it was resolved.
Fast forward to this year, this cooling season. Four years after it was installed. We've had a really hot couple of weeks and we can't keep the house cool. We had to install two window air conditioner units, one in the kitchen and one in the front room just to keep the temperatures consistent and comfortable, it's always been like this. We've gone to lengths of putting fans in front of the vents to suck more cold air out, and made cardboard pieces to direct the airflow in the direction we want it. We even paid to have insulation added all around the house to try to make up for the deficiency.
I tested it yesterday. House was 78 degrees at noon and I turn it on. It ran all day long, about 11 more hours and never got below 76. This isn't a big house and the heat load is not that great. Bottom line is the unit is grossly undersized. I also question the quality of the equipment considering the issues. I also question the competency of the installers as we've probably seen all of them over the course of the years. None of them can get it right. And even when it was working right, it doesn't do it's job. They sold us a furnace we didn't need and air conditioning equipment that wasn't suited for the job, and did a bad job installing it. I can't say they don't stand by their work as they've been out here so many times, but at what point as a business owner and HVAC specialist do you look at it objectively and say, you know we screwed up on this. Instead of throwing labor at it, they should have put the right equipment in there the first time issues manifested.
The years we had this has been unsatisfactory, but the final straw was having to add another window unit just to keep the house at a temperature our $100 swamp cooler could do in two hours. Ridiculous. If I could do it all over again, I would have bought another swamp cooler. Do not use this company for your heating and cooling needs, you will regret it.

After waiting 24 hours without anyone showing up, multiple calls to the company who refused to give me any idea of when they would be here, and finally someone admitting they would not make it that day.... I called another company who was here within an hour. I won't be using them again. Communication is key and their style did not work for me.

This company has completely ripped me off. Our water heater stopped working so we contacted action to repair it. They said they would have someone out that night, no one showed up. Next day they said they had a glitch in the system. Someone finally comes and says he fixed it and charged us over $800. Well as soon as he leaves the pilot light was back out. He came back the next day and said the part he put on was faulty so he took it off and put our old part on. Fast forward a week later, and our water heater is still not working. The plumbing manager said he needs to get a part sent out from the manufacturer and it is a ""process"". He sounds annoyed each time I call. He also said I needed to have Questar gas come out to check gas pressure. They did and said what they thought was wrong. I called him again and he said that he didn't think that was it and would get back with me the next day. Well that night I had another plumber out for a different issue and asked him to just look at the water heater. Well turns out Questar was right and it was just a simple fix. The other plumber had it fixed in less than an hour and for both issues charged me only $175. I have a 1 year old and 2 disabled 80 year old grandparents living here. We were without heat (our heat comes from the water heater) or hot water for a week and a half because action didn't know what they were doing. It took another plumber from a different company to fix it. We called action for a refund but the woman we spoke to said that will not happen. Do not use this company. They don't care about their customers, and they overcharge by hundreds of dollars. I will be contacting the better business bureau as well.

I had some work done recently and they did a great job!
A few months back I had a flood in my house when the hose behind the washer burst. The water did a lot of damage because the on/off switches were in a not-so easy place to reach.
The week Action Plumbing came back and installed a new on/off switch that is easily accessible.
They called when they were on the way to my house and came during the time outlined. My technician gave me some price options so I could choose how to best spend my money.
My technician had a co-worker bring him parts and assist, so the work was done quickly.
They had to return the next day for some very minor issues, but it was fixed quickly and they were very flexible with my schedule on that day since it was not a planned appointment.
I will be using them again in the future!

Boooooo! I called them for a simple quote on a new water heater in an emergency because my current water heater was flooding my basement. I was told that I would need a technician to come out to my house just to give me a quote, and then schedule another appointment for the service! I told her I don't have time for 2 appointments and was told she would have a plumber call me soon to give me a quote. Never received the call. Good customer service Action. Thanks.

I have no idea about the quality of their work. Because getting them to do what you've paid for is impossible. I scheduled three appointments with them after waiting 5 hours for them to show and then get a cancellation and rescheduling (before the second cancellation I waited 7 hours). On the third appointment when the plumber showed up. I showed him the ""Living Social"" coupon and he said he wouldn't flush my water heater because it was a tank less. (The coupon doesn't specify the type of water heater) and then left without performing the maintenance. Almost a week later I was finally contacted by them saying there was nothing they could do but refund my money.
I've wasted enough time with them for the both of us. DON'T BOTHER!

Action Heating and Plumbing failed to performed the service that they agreed upon. I paid them $350 to clear my drain, and the drain became clogged again in three days. This is not acceptable, I don't care what their excuse or disclaimer is. If the clog had remained cleared for a reasonable amount of time, I would not be requesting a $350 refund. Drain Tech came out for $130 and cleared it and it has remained cleared ever since then, over two weeks. On their website, ""Action guarantees that your large or small plumbing jobs will be taken care of quickly and efficiently."" This is a lie, and I want a refund.

Wow, Jo's mom's house had the drain back up today, I went over then called Action plumbing and heating, after all I hear their ads on 106.5, ten times a day. Big mistake!!! They charged my father in law, a disabled Korean vet, over 900 dollars. It took 2 men two hours snaking a line. I could have got a new machine for 600 dollars and done it myself charging 75 an hour and still charge him less. The Action guys are rip off artists of the worst kind.

RIP OFF!!!
Grandpa's sewer line backed up. For what other companies charge $100 to snake a line clear Action sent two guys and charged almost $1,000. The technician saw a 90 year old Korean War Vet and took total advantage of him. They moved the toilet which totally wasn't needed, the main line was obviously the issue, and charged him two line items, one for moving and replacing the toilet and another for cleaning the line. $950!
Terrible company that saw a chance to overcharge an old man and totally took advantage of him. Can't believe the terrible ethics of those people, how can they sleep with themselves at night?

ACTION IS A SCAM!!!
I don't even know where to start with these guys! They put a furnace in 4 years ago, ""top of the line"", and a A/c 8 years ago, ""top of the line"". Called them to look at my furnace that stopped working yesterday and was told I needed to replace both, they are awful products now and they don't even sell them anymore! Weird, they now have a new ""top of the line"" and quoted prices up to $19000! I called a second opinion this morning and because my four year old furnace is still under warranty my whole repair will be less than $200! Hey ACTION, back up your service/products, do repairs and not replacements! I will tell everyone I know how bad you suck! And don't tell me you are sorry....I already know...
