A scam from the moment I made the appointment!

When I called to make an appointment, they wouldn't give me an estimate. They told me the plumber would come out and analyze the problem and give us a bid to do the work. I agreed to having Action Plumbing come out to my home. When the plumber arrived, my wife let him in. He called me to see what needed to be done. I said that I've already ran a 25 foot power cable down the drain from under the sink and that I put some draino down the sink and it was still plugged. He said to unplug the sink would cost $150 to ""AUGER SINK"". And if I wanted it power pressure cleaned it would be $250. As we were talking, I told him the only thing I didn't check was the stopper. And if he would first check that real quick for me. He said he would. My wife watched him spend less than 5 minutes to simply pull up the stopper and remove some hair that resolved the problem. He proceeded to charge my wife a $150 for his less than 5 minute fix. She paid him not knowing what we had talked about. He was just glad the drain was working.

I called and complained that I understood there would be some kind of a service call charge but that $150 was way to much in my opinion. I informed the company that if I didn't get some kind of a response that I would write a negative review. It took almost a week and 2 more additional calls warning Action Plumbing that I was not happy with the $150 charge. Finally, supposedly a VP of the company called me and informed me that their minimum charge for any service was $159 and that I actually got a good deal. I explained my side of the story and it didn't matter. It was clear that I would be charged $150 from a company that drove to my home, talked to me on the phone, I diagnosed the potential problem and the plumber spent less than 5 minutes to pull the stopper. On the receipt, it shows ""Auger Sink"". The plumber never pulled a tool out.

I was informed that they were willing to send me I believe $180 in coupons that I could use in the future. I informed them that after seeing how they do business, I would never use them again... Even for free!

GO BACK, IT'S A TRAP!

Side Note: I was also given an estimate of $250 to change out a faucet. Something that would have taken 30 minutes.

What did I learn? Get a quote before they come to your home. And have them charge by the hour, not by the job. What a joke Action Plumbing is!

A very unhappy customer,
Robert

What a great team! I recently purchased a home and from day one had issues with the kitchen sink backing up. I called Action and they found a plastic knife in my drain. It was bent in a curve so it caught everything. They were in and out in twenty minutes. Cleaned up behind themselves as well..
I'll always call Action in the future.

Buyer BEWARE it could potentially cost you your life or the life of a loved one!!
This is a letter that was written to the owner and upper management of which I have yet to hear a reply.

Mr. Moses Sanchez

Your company was hired to replace a hot water heater on the 9th of January 2017. Yesterday my mother had to be removed from her home because of potential carbon monoxide poisoning. Questar Gas was notified and when their Tech came out he found levels of natural gas and carbon monoxide present in the home. . He discovered that the exhaust flue on a new hot water heater that was installed was not properly secured and that the flexible gas connection to the hot water heater was only hand tight and leaking. I notified your company and at first was told that it would be a two hour window before your technician was to arrive of which shocked me because my 86 year old mother was forced to be outside in the cold until a neighbor arrived and the unit was repaired. After having to stress the importance that a tech be there sooner because of the aforementioned items (Why??) He showed up thirty minutes later. My step father had been in a hospice since September and my mother is living alone. She has a nurse that stops by once every other week and she discovered the smell and contacted Questar. That means she was exposed for over a week and I hate to think what may have happened if she wasn't scheduled that day. When I reached out to your company to discuss the situation I was appalled at the response from your manager (Steve)! I requested your contact information and was vehemently denied then while I continued passionately expressing my concern his comment was ""well is she dead ""after sarcastically wishing me a good day he hung up the phone. My mother lost her husband of 40 years on Tuesday of last week and this was the last thing that either her or our family needed to think about and to be basically be belittled by one of your management team completely blows me away. I am a licensed Stationary Engineer in the state of Colorado and worked in the HVAC industry for several years earlier in my career. I have acted as an owner rep for multiple projects that allowed me to work closely with several folks in the trade so I'm at a loss of word to describe how this situation is being handled.

If you want your communication to be a bunch of lies as to why they put you at their lowest priority, then go ahead. They scheduled a 3 hour window with me 4 times and they missed every window and asked to reschedule. Why did I let them reschedule 4 times? Well the 4th time I said no and they were actually really nice and seemed on top of things. I told them that if they weren't honest with me their excuses and promises to be here, then I couldn't trust that they would be honest with what they found in my water heaters. I then told them that I planned to write a review and it wasn't going to be good. Also, to please have the owner call me if he felt like he wanted to talk to me and possibly stop this bad review. Nobody called! Not good business practice with nothing to back up what they say.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Call literally ANYONE else in town. I was quoted one price and charged another, and came to find out that they charged five times what any other plumber would have charged. They also didn't completely fix the problem. They then harass the living hell out of you for payment immediately beginning after service is rendered, while you're still trying to evaluate having them fix the issue and paying them more money. Calling their ""customer service"" (that term does not apply to this company) a joke, is an insult to jokes. If you want to get screamed at and harassed by people who you're paying to help you, this is the clown show for you. HORRIBLE COMPANY

Our water heater went out and flooded our basement, so we contacted Action for a quote at 8am. They were quick to come out for a quote, but communication stopped after that. We waited the entire day with no water to hear back. After informing us that they match prices, we didn't hear until 10am the next day (after many attempts from us to speak to the tech) that they wouldn't match a competitor's price after all. COMPLETE waste of our time.

Our hot water heater went out. Called action and they came out the next day. The quoted cost was over $500. We had to have hot water so we agreed to do it. The technician stated he found the problem and would cost $400. New part was installed and two hours later the hot water heater was not working. Tech came out the next day and said he adjusted the New part and should work. That night it did not work. Tech came out again and said my thoughts get a new water heater. So the heater did not get fixed and I called to discuss this issue. I left a message and no one called me back until 3 days later. I ask for help on the payment part because this was never fixed. I was told you are out of luck because we feel that we did our part. So I am out $400.00 with a hot water tank that was never fixed. I feel that I was taking advantage of becAuse if the tech knew what was wrong with it and replaced the part. They should Guaranteed the work. I will never ever use these guys again Ne will communicate to all my friends to not use. Very disappointed with the service

Buyer beware. This is a company whose services are overpriced relative to competitors. Their business practices are also a bit shady. They will try to lure you in with slick advertising and the appearance of professionalism with prompt call backs and bids, but if you make the mistake of putting a deposit down and then cancelling the appointment they will charge you a non negotiable 10% cancellation fee. This fee will be charged regardless of lead time in cancelling. I can understand a cancellation fee if materials were ordered or work started. But charging a cancellation fee when no work was performed and no material ordered is at best extremely poor customer service, and at worst borderline unethical. Because of this company's unwillingness to credit me back my full deposit when no service was performed, it will now be my personal mission to inform and warn every person I come in contact with not to use Action for plumbing, HVAC, or electrical services. They had the opportunity to show a measure of goodwill and provide good customer service by refunding me my full deposit, since no service was performed, and instead chose not to do so. As a result they have lost any opportunity for future business that they would of had from me, and likely also lost business from anyone else that speaks with me.

Given a ""Free"" contract for a furnace service jimi Hayes tried to scare me into buying a new furnace with the threat of carbon monoxide poisoning. I called the gas company and they reassured me there was no CO or gas leak and that there was nothing wrong with my heater. Think twice before using Action Plumbing & heating. Don't trust them
