Anthony C.How can people take advantage of you when you're down? My A/C went down when I was out of town for work. My wife and two kids were left in the heat for 3 days. I found it perplexing since my A/C condenser was just replaced last year around this time. I know a little bit about air conditioners and tried to troubleshoot a few things when I got home.
One of the possible problems would be the capacitor. If you have a back capacitor, the compressor or Dan won't work. The unit I have is now a 410 as opposed to the old R-22's. I worked a little bit with the 410's but not enough to day I know it well. I looked for the capacitor but found that it was in a weird location inside the condenser housing so I was unable to check it.
I called several companies Anna all of them said it would take 1-3 days before someone could come out to see you. The temperatures just started to hit the high 90's so not having a/c right now would not be good. About 3 hours later, every one of the a/c companies called me back to say that someone could be out to see me in 20-30 mins. How could this be possible if they took 1-3 business days before?
When the technicians came by, they said that the capacitor was bad and that the unit needed more refrigerant. The bill would be $400 for the capacitor that was ""hard to find"", $400 for the refrigerant because they had to charge us for the entire bottle and $250 for the labor. First of all, capacitors are only $50. I understand markup, but a $350 markup??? Also, if they are charging $400 for the refrigerant, are they going to leave me the unused portion?
We got hold of the company that installed the unit. We couldn't get s as hold of him because his phone wasn't working properly and he was in the process of getting a new phone. He actually called when the technicians were here and actually talked to them. He said he works take care of us and that he would come back to us the next day.
He came by and inspected my lines ABC found a nut that was loose and leaking refrigerant. He tightened up the nut and added refrigerant. He charged me $0 to come out.
BTW, while I was away, my wife got another estimate from Monarch and they wanted $1800 to replace the piston line. I don't recall A/C units having a piston line.
I am completely disgusted how these businesses are taking advantage of people, making them stew in the heat assuming they will pay anything to keep cool. $1050 for a part I didn't need and refrigerant that I had to pay for the whole canister.
My house is down to 71 degrees now!!!
Flyn D.Just make sure you read the reviews before engaging this group. Definitely were able to unclog my kitchen.
Ended up costing me $385.
Don't throw rice, coffee grounds, potatoes, or viscous veggies down your drain.
Mrs. Alexandria S.Yelp needs to have a negative # option!
This ""business"" if you wanna call it that Broke sprinkler lines, they threw the Broken parts back into the ground and covered them with dirt! I have photos of all of this! Then they left rocks & gravel in my yard which took SEVERAL hours of work to remove. I had to seed and sod my front lawn. They left tire tracks on my sidewalks and driveway. They were there for months! This was all to the extreme point where I had to hire professionals to come and power rake and fix my yard, due to HOA rules and the ridiculous destruction. My yard is DESTROYED, my sprinkler lines left broken! I have lines that are completely disconnected now. And they covered over the sprinklers put in two brass clean outs with concrete! :(
I have been screamed at and belittle and disrespectful left and right by employees and MANAGERS! I was told that because my homeowners insurance was paying the claim that I was waiting the work to be redone or to be refunded so I could ""double dip!"" NO, I WANT MY HOUSE BACK! I get making mistakes, but fix it! Don't blame the customers! Don't scream at me when I asked for you to come fix your screwup. I asked for a refund because I didn't want them touching my house again! I was told that if I wanted to contact their attorney I had to ""go find them on Google!"" WTH ? does that mean?!?! Just so you know, there is NOTHING like that listed on your site, so get your facts straight! Please fix my house or refund me! Make it right!
The concrete they put down froze and it is crumbling all over the place. The step they had to take out and then put a new one back in is now crumbling. They did not complete the concrete work correctly.
I have EVERYTHING on my security cameras and audio of these guys being disrespectful. Yep we can hear you and see EVERY INSULTING WORD and ACTION to do and did to my house!
I had mangers and employees who have been consistently rude and I still don't have work completed and fixed and this has been ongoing with different problems every month since they ""completed"" the work in January.
I was pregnant and the smell from the drains was so bad I had to stay at a hotel, while these guys took their time to even start on the work.I was in a hotel for over a week WAITING for the work to even start! I later miscarried our multiples, and I thought the work was done and then the spring came and then there were MORE AND MORE problems!
The guys said they would come back and ""fix"" it! JUST WOW! There is so much wrong, I hope they will do the right thing and fix my house back to where it was. My HOA is down my throat trying to ensure that I have my house back to where it was before, where this has been going on for MONTHS! I have been told for months that the work was completed, then I was told that the work was going to be fixed and they would ""put me on their schedule"" WTH ? no fix what your mess or refund me my money!
They refuse to give me anything in writing, they are refusing to allow my sprinkler man to be on l site when they are ""fixing"" the work. I am the customer! I hired YOU! So come do the work right, and maybe I'll change my review!
AND I SWEAR.... if you leave a review message saying to call you, or trust me I already have and I NEVER get returned calls! If you wanna run a business DO IT RIGHT! You call me back, because I'm the customer and this is not satisfactory work!
Update :
The work was completed to my satisfaction but it took months in order to make this process occur correctly. I change my review to a two star because the second crew that came out did a great job and cleaning up the mess and fixing everything that was wrong from the first crew.
We have used Action plumbing for at least 10 years. 4 years ago purchased a ac an 95%furnace combo and paid for the extended warranty unit cost over 9800 dollars for a home of 1900 square feet. When we purchased the furnace and AC we were told this covers us for anything that happens for the next 10 years and we would have no worries. With the warranty this was to cover all tune ups. However ever time we have a tune up we have the technicians telling us we have to make more repairs. This last time I need to make over 680 dollars in repairs to the AC unit that we have only used for 3 summers. When I called to ask why we were being charged I was told to talk to the technician. The technician told me to talk to the office. And the office referred me to talk to a supervisor. And took him 24 hours to get back to me. Jake was extremely rude and threatening about us needing to get the repairs or we would not have a warranty on the AC or furnace unit. I asked him to talk to my husband so he could explain it to him, where he told me that he would call. But he could completely guarantee that at 100% that if I do not get the 700 service done that I would have no warranty on my furnace and AC units and talking to him would change nothing. How extremely rude this was to say. Jake I wanted you to talk to him cause I do not understand these things. Why pay for an extended warranty if they are not going to explain that every 4 years I am going to put out another 700 dollars. Your customer service has been extremely poor, and your responses have been very rude. If I could get a refund on the expensive warranty I would as I wish I could have a different company coming to do the tune ups. I am afraid to have you technicians coming to the house with more out of pocket costs on a warranty that does not cover us they way we were told it would. Buyer beware. Action just wants the sales, is rude, and does not stand behind what they promise you read your contracts very carefully.
1-They are horrible. They will over charge and Dan will laugh that they had. When I checked bbb. I was horrified at the con their were doing to people. I cancelled the second half of work on my sewerline. And took from me 2700.00. That not theirs. I had two other companies. Give estimates, they were as much 4,000.00 cheaper. AND YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM DOING AN EXPERT JOB.
With Action , they will back because of the crappy job they do.
2-furnace they installed in 2013, has to be placed. Experts tell us, it too big for our house and is burning it self up. This is their work
No show, lost our appointment. Scheduled an emergency repair over the weekend and were told the technician would be there the next morning between 9am-noon. At 2pm I called to find out what gives and I was told they have no booking listed. Said they have recently had problems with their booking system. They checked their schedule and were unable to get someone out today so we just found a different company that could do the job.
Adam T.I spent thousands of dollars installing some new plumbing, including a new toilet. It has been appx 90 days since it was installed. I just noticed water flowing out of the back of the toilet. I called and had a technician come out to look at it. I was warned that there may be a $60 service fee even if no work was done. Once the technician saw the issue, which he never really diagnosed (I suspect it is a simple gasket issue) he offered to sell me another toilet tank for $325 (this is not a $325 toilet). He added that there was no warranty on the parts or labor. I understand and am willing to pay for work that needs to be done and the materials. However, this was not installed correctly and I was immediately seen as an opportunity to upsell me on a repair I already paid for. Take this feedback for what it's worth, being one experience, but I feel like this is indicative of how Action Plumbing operates.
If you have nothing but time to wait around for people to show up then this is the company for you. Expect to wait at least 2-3 hours past the scheduled time for the technician to show up and then the install won't be done correctly anyway. They have no respect for their customers time or possessions (they broke a futon moving a water heater in). Save your money and A LOT of aggravation, find another company.
They told me they were installing a $200 disposal. After researching, it was $99 at Home Depot. Blatant lying. They said it was ""after their markup"" a small detail they left out of the conversation. Total bill was $400 after labor. STAY AWAY!!
In all honesty this Company deserves a ZERO! They are dishonest and run rip-off schemes with their customers. They shut-down our furnace claiming some element was cracked and it was too dangerous so they were legally obligated to shut it down. They gave a quote of over $7,000 for a new furnace installation. There was a lot about these two that ""just didn't feel right."" Upon receiving two other opinions, both other guys assured us our furnace was just fine. The furnace lasted another 6 years before we had to replace it. I'm shocked to see this company is still in business!! I hate to see people get cheated and scammed. I highly advice to not let them in the door!
