This outfit was recommended by GE for my in-warranty water heater. Repair guy said it was unrepairable and said he was calling to get a replacement. Repair guy stalled for another hour getting ""authorization"" then finally came up with a price of 775!!! 650 of this being his labor. This for an in warranty water heater???? I said no way so I still had to pay 200 for his ""stall time"" tactics. Not cool.

My condo building has been using them for years. I took over managing the repairs and I noticed we were being severely overcharged.

A few months ago we were charged $1400 for a recirculating pump for the hot water heater. I just found out the pump itself was only $250. The rest was labor and they installed in in less than 2 hours. Recent plumber quote was $600.

I had a clogged sink and I thought it had to do with the main line covered by the HOA. They came out and fixed the clogged sink for $450.They said that I had a leak under my sink, which they never showed me and they replaced my p-trap. I looked and its the same parts that were there originally. SCAM

We had a leak in our recirculating line. The copper pipe was no good and had several leaks. I was quoted $3,500 for the repairs. I told them this was ridiculous and I was going to find another company to do the repairs. Once they heard I was going to call someone else they back peddled and said since they have been servicing our building for years they would do it for $1875 to keep our business. Amazed how quickly they went from $3500 to $1875..

This caused me to find another plumber only to find more short cuts they took when doing past repairs in our water lines and to our water heater. I can only begin to think of all the money they have made off our HOA over the years. Sad it took so long to catch on...

Do not call these people. They are not honest people and will overcharge you for work that may or might not need to be done.

Its no surprise to see all the other bad reviews online.

Skip this company. Made an appointment between 8-10 am. Called at 10:45 am to find out was going on. No apology, no calls to let know what was going on...

At the very least a text to say I'm running 45 minutes late because of an emergency! Or I'm running late due to piss-poor planning. Nope nothing.

This is the type of company that gives plumbers the reputation of being inconsiderate. In this day and age of smartphones and modern technology, no reason to not tell the operators that they are running late and then the operators let their other paying customers know what's going on...
INCONSIDERATE!! FAIL!!

This crew has been horrible. They have been doing overnight work for WEEKS on end at the business next door. The do not have the proper permits and have been completely violating the noise ordinances in Burbank. Multiple families in our building have confronted this crew to implore them to be more sensitive to how much noise they create every night at ALL HOURS, but the only response we have all gotten is an extremely rude, sarcastic, aggressive one from the lead guy of ""oops! too bad for you"".

We have gone down to reiterate the concerns that our neighbors have already addressed with them multiple times prior. At this point, we have had to return at 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am over the last several weeks. We have also asked to see their work permits and asked if it was an emergency as that is the only time overnight work is allowed, and the lead guy said they didnt have any permits, but he ""will go get them tomorrow"" and he confirmed it was absolutely not an emergency, it was purely cosmetic. Our response was ""you cannot be doing this overnight work without permits and without it being an emergency"" he told us we were ""welcome to call the cops.""

Invasive general construction noises aside (jack hammering, sawing, shoveling, etc), the crew themselves are loud. Sadly, the lead guy is the worst of the group. He literally does not care about how loud he is outside. The noise he and this crew create is so bad that we have had to sleep in our living room to try and move farther away from it.

The saddest part is, there was one really nice guy in the crew who completely understood our concerns and was very kind, but unfortunately he wasn't in charge and had to defer to his AWFUL derelict of a boss. This guy should have been leading the crew- he clearly was more intelligent, more articulate and far more experienced with this type of work and with basic human interaction than his boss.

It's sad when there is an entire house being built behind your building with minimal noise or affect on your life, but a crew working on plumbing job next door can manage to completely ruin WEEKS of your sleep and work. This is NOT okay and NOT good business. You HAVE to be considerate of the fact that you are working in a NEIGHBORHOOD with families and people who have jobs to get to in the morning and LEGALLY, noise ordinances are in place for a reason--- To protect us from bad business practices.

My partner called this company to get our kitchen drain unclogged and the guy came out with a helper, we had a coupon. He looked under the house and told us we need to have some pipes replaced because of the slope. He then quoted us some ridiculous price to fix all of this other stuff which was crazy. My partner immediately told them to get out of our house because THEY ARE CROOKS! We called another Plummer who said easy fix, in clogged the sink for $80 and we will never use this company. BEWARE!

I wouldn't trust these guys. Right off the bat the guy started telling me that other plumbing parts were shot on items not even connected to the drainage problem I had. Then he gave me a quote for replacing a set of sewer pipes. Not more than an hour into the job, he called and said another pipe needed to be replaced increasing my bill 30%. Of course, it's impossible to know if he was telling the truth as I couldn't crawl under the house to check but it seemed like a typical sleazy salesman tactic. Plastic parts are very cheap so 90% of the bill is labor and they surely didn't spend 30% more time under my house to justify the increase.

I've had these guys to my house 4 times and they've always solved the problem, suggested the best solution and been very efficient. I was really happy with the service. They show up fast and do a great, thorough job.

I decided to wait to see if these guys would come through on their promises before I posted a negative review....but clearly that is not going to happen, so here goes....

I called Action One because I got a discount coupon in the mail. Bad idea and I learned my lesson, because I did not search for reviews first. I had just bought a new refrigerator and wanted to have the ice maker hooked up. I also wanted them to replace a faucet in my shower. The guy showed up and was quite friendly. He went under the house and told me that it looked like I already had a hookup to a fridge icemaker running to my kitchen wall, and I had no idea, because my old fridge did not have one. He was strong and was able to move the new fridge out enough to see behind and...lo and behold...he did not have to repipe anything! So far so good.

I bought a $10 hose from him and he proceeded to attach it to the wall and fridge and made the ice maker work. Yay. Then, he left and picked up the new faucet for my shower at a place nearby and attached it. He told me it cost him $20. I was satisfied with the work, but when it was time to pay, he said, ""I have to go call my boss to get the pricing."" Then he charged me $350!

I don't know anything about pricing, but I paid it although clearly I could have argued, but I did not feel comfortable doing that. When he left, I called Sears, where I had bought the refrigerator and asked them how much it would be to refit my kitchen for the ice maker for the fridge I bought. They said, ""$150."" I said, ""but what if there is already a hook-up there from a previous fridge?"" They said, it would not cost anything. So I had to deal with why Sears didn't even hook it up in the first place (which is another story), but I realized that I got overcharged by Action One. I called the next day, and Steve, the owner, told me he would look into it and call me back the following day. He did not.

I waited another day and called again. He answered and said he wanted to make his customer happy so he would send me a coupon for $150 off the next service call. He was not interested in letting me explain about the issue--he clearly wanted me off the phone....right away. He mentioned that his plumber had actually ""Saved me money"" by ""finding"" the hook up line in the wall. This made no sense. Was he planning to charge me hundreds more if he had to install a pipe under the house? I waited for the coupon in the mail. Nothing.

The following week, a customer rep, named Linda, I think, called me to ask if everything was taken care of to my satisfaction regarding the work of the previous week. I told her that she must not be aware of the fact that I had complained and was waiting for my coupon. She looked at her notes, and said, yes, she was aware. So I asked why no one had bothered to mail it to me. She said she would do so right away and then call me to make sure. I told her that I was considering writing a complaint on Yelp, but that I would wait to see if I got the coupon first. I got nothing. Not even a call. It has been a couple of weeks now, so I don't care anymore and I am just writing this complaint so people are aware of the poor service of this company and beware of them.
I feel that if you complain about their pricing, they just have a mantra that they repeat in order to get rid of you--we will send you a discount coupon--then they don't do it. Clever bit of scamming, because you end up disliking them so much that you probably would not call them again--discount or not!

Reading these poor reviews made me want to step up and say something. My family has been using Action One for 5 years now. They've done multiple jobs on my house, and we've always been very satisfied with the work and the price. The guys that come out to the house are always very friendly, polite, and courteous. We will continue to do business with them for years to come.

Ok...should be 4 1/2 stars. Water heater pilot went out on a Sat. Called 3pm on a Sat and told someone would be there by 5pm same day. Tech showed up 30 min. late...but it was uphill from there. Tech checked out the heater, knew what was wrong with 15 min and replaced a thermal coupler? f that he had in the truck. Heater was 11 yrs old, but there was no pressure to sell a new one. Could not have been more satisfied, except for the 30 min. lateness...but it was Sat and I had just called just 2 hrs before appointment. $99.99 for service call plus $40 parts. Will definitely use again.
