Action will overcharge, charge for mileage and for time they are traveling. This is double dipping. After 2 1/2 hours of reading my manuals the problem was not fixed but I was charged for all the time they sat around doing nothing. Don't waste you time with them.

We entrusted Action Mechanical with two residential projects over 6 years ($20,000). The most recent project installed two Amana Gas Furnaces and a Gas Water Heater (Dec 2020). Until spring, our impression of Action Mechanical was quite favorable. Technicians (Jerry/Joe/ Warren/Jared especially, but others) proved experienced craftsmen, courteous and dedicated. Unfortunately, company leaders (Pres/VP) wrecked this favorable impression with cavalier handling of our concerns. Disrespect and textbook unprofessionalism earned them a solid F- in the category of ""we value you as customers."" Don't be fooled by their sprightly Facebook page or VP Matt Sheesley ""the fixer"" offering conciliatory ""give me a call"" retorts in response to unfavorable reviews. We were displeased, they knew it and would not hear us.
Unreturned phone calls, unanswered letters, poor judgement and arrogance characterized our most recent experience. Our $14,500 project (agreed initial proposal) ballooned into an $18,000 project and how it happened was unacceptable. ""Cost-creep"" started with the initial site survey incorrectly assuming the coil from the existing furnace could be used in the new furnace ($900). However, the company was still in our good graces so no big deal. What become a big deal was discovering in spring both A/C units were inoperative. The same infamous site survey promised the A/C function of our heat pumps would not be impacted by the furnace installs. In fact, both units were broken and Action Mechanical's conclusion was bad valves on aged units. To be clear, our A/C worked perfectly the summer before the gas furnace installs. And while logic and reason would implicate the furnace installation process, the company deflected responsibility, declaring the cost of repair our ugly baby.
Our confidence in Action Mechanical began its nosedive following a manager's failure to respond to multiple calls and messages for two weeks following discovery of the issue (we finally had to go there). After two months of our large A/C unit not cooling properly following repair/troubleshooting) we reached out to VP Matt Sheesley requesting he 1) solve our lingering A/C cooling issue, and 2) consider our position that the A/C issues were triggered by the furnace installs. He did help resolve #1 (albeit unprofessionally and disrespectfully over a misunderstanding), but never addressed #2. Absent of a follow-up call, we received a bill for $2,600 which incensed us. Matt's failure was clearly rooted in mistakenly believing he was doing us a favor. We were his customer, we had legitimate concerns and entrusted him to address those concerns in good faith using his positional discretion. Instead, he behaved like a low-level supervisor.
Following Matt's blunders, we wrote the company president (Matt's sister Missy) who, in turn, ignored our letter. A BBB complaint followed to compel a response (it did). She apologized for being unresponsive (pledging it would not happen again) and offered to reimburse 1/2 of our $2,600 payment. We found her apology lacking, her offer of ""charity"" unacceptable and rejected it. She had not addressed responsibility for the A/C failure (although we'd been asking), nor did she apologize for ill treatment by brother Matt. In our rejection, we again expressed our willingness to discuss our grievance face-to-face. After 1+ week without contact we wrote another letter. Sadly, what she had pledged ""would not happen again,"" (BBB) happened again--no reply. This arrogant behavior exposed how quickly leaders could vilify and set aside a loyal, tenured customer. It became clear that our 6-year relationship was worth less than a $2,600 invoice. Also clear was that this duo lacks any semblance of professional decorum. Swim at own risk!

After calling multiple places around to get help with water backing up in the basement. This was the only company who would help us in a timely manner. Very friendly and great company!

I called Action Mechanical because my water heater was making noise. I spoke with the estimator Jerry who told me he was short 4 guys, so he came out himself. Jerry was prompt, professional and very knowledgeable and found the problem right away. Luckily he was able to fix the leak himself. I am very grateful and give 5 stars, Thank you!

I had water spraying from the top of my water heater in my VRBO occupied by guests. Scott with Action Mechanical came all the way to Hill City at 9 pm and stopped the leak. Water heater had to be replaced which he did the next day. Guests were happy and I'm impressed by the extraordinary service. Anymore, most plumbers just say they can't come if you have an urgent need. Action Mechanical comes to the rescue. Thanks, Scott!

2 dripping faucets, and worked on issue with another. Bill $375. I went to use my faucet, the guy never hooked it backed up, I called he came right back and charged me for another hour. $469. I used these guys for years and am very dissapointed. Tried to get the extra hour off my bill and the General Manager said no. Done with Action Mechanical.

I waited to make this review till after I spoke with the general manager to see if their customer service would surpass the initial price I was charged.
I had a guy come out to do a quote.. he said $250 and knew all the parts he needed. They kept no record of this quote. When they came to do the work they left for 45 minutes to go get parts. That 1.5 hours (2 guys) that I should not have had to pay because they should have came prepared. The last hour they were here they sat around watching my brown water, trying to tell me I have something wrong and they didn't do it. finally we found out that my subs water was turned off, as they continued to waste time by sitting around and doing absolutely nothing. That's 2 hours I should not have paid. My final bill was just under $700. WHAT?! a quote is so I can budget for a plumber. Telling me $250 then going to $700 is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, the manager got it down to $480, but did not want to hear anything I had to say about my concerns while they were here. That's still double my quote. Not recommending to anyone in my area because who knows what they will charge them.

Had a pump go out on older AC unit. Called Action Mechanical & they got a repairman out to get it fixed right away. Couple days later had a plumbing problem. Called Action Mechanical and they again had a crew come fix it within a couple hours. Employees were friendly and knowledgeable and neat. Very happy customer!

We had a plumbing issue arise on a day considered a ""holiday"". Called this business for no particular reason other than it's close to our residence. Eric and Steve responded within a couple of hours. They ""snaked"" the sewer system and found/cleaned out what caused the issue. This procedure took a **half hour**. For that we were charged $321.43 (3 hrs labor time at $105/hr plus tax). I feel the service charge is extremely high. In hindsight, I should have called around to see if we could have found a more reasonable plumbing service!

Just saw van number 1-102 throw a lit cigeratte out his window. Now I know who not to do work on my house.
