Boy oh boy. I would advise anyone and everyone to stay away from Acorn Plumbing. Some background:

We had a toilet replaced with them 2 months ago due to leaking at the base. Thad is the person who came to our house and did it. 2 months later, the base started leaking water out once again. So I call Acorn. And I call and call and call. I get no answer, no message returns. After trying all day and my husband and I incessantly calling on both of our phones, a man answers. He says he will be to our house between 8:30-9 the next morning. He never showed up and never communicated anything with us. Essentially we were ghosted by this company and the people that work there even though we had previously given them business and have a warranty on the toilet.

So we get another plumbing company to come out who is much more responsive. Their diagnosis confirms that Acorn did a very poor job 2 months prior. The flange was set lower than the floor and the screws were rotted out. There should have been a flange extension installed with the new toilet. Bill Bruski is the owner of this business. We had a cracked toilet. they responded in a timely manner, replaced the old toilet and it never looked like there was anythin done. Clean and professional.
So, my wife had them look at our 2nd bath to fix the fixtures in the tub. They scheduled it for two weeks out. They arrived on time did a great replacement job (2 days) and everything works great.

Acorn Pluming & Heating have been amazing to work with! We first hired them in 2011 to do major work on a home we bought outside of Billings. They put a new boiler in our home, ran a propane line for a gas stove, replaced broken water line, installed a whole house water filtration system and a drinking water system, re-plumbed two bathrooms and installed fixtures. They were polite, on-time, great at explaining everything and very competent! We have continued to refer them to friends and family through the years and everyone has been more than satisfied. We have also used them recently and they were very helpful!

A year ago last spring (2013) we had them replace an outside sprinkling faucet. They said they needed to add a braker valve. The work was completed, we paid them - all was good until about the end of August first part of September. The new breaker valve sprang a leak! We called Acorn, they came and looked at it - said they'd replace it, that it would still be under warranty, but they would have to charge us for the labor. They said that it could wait until this spring to replace it, we decided to waited until this spring. They came and replaced it charged us for the same part plus labor. I called, they sent us a refund check for the amount for the part... Then they called us back a couple days later and said that it wasn't under warranty and that we would have to pay for the part. I tried talking to the receptionist, who happens to be married to the owner, she was very rude and accused us of breaking it. In April, I wrote a letter trying to get things settled. They never responded. In July we received a new bill for the amount of the valve. I called, and wanted to talk to the owner, but he was not in. The person I spoke to said that the bill probably was wrong. I waited for 2 wks, the owner never called... and we got another bill the 1st of August, plus a late fee!!! I called again yesterday (8/13/14), and asked to talk to the owner, I did not want to deal with the receptionist again. John, the owner was not in. I left another message, and was told he'd call today. I called again at 11:30 this morning, John was not in. He finally called me back about 12:45. I was sure once I chatted with him, all would be resolved, and they wouldn't charge me for the faulty part. I was wrong! I have been a customer of theirs for 22 years, I realize that my business will not make or break them - but I am VERY disappointed that they wouldn't stand behind their workmanship and parts. I do NOT recommend them any more! When they were located in the Heights, on Wicks, they were much more accommodating. We had noticed that once they moved to their new location a few years ago they have been a little more difficult to work with, trying to get a time they'll arrive, which makes it hard when you work. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THEM anymore!!!
