Since 1947, ACME Plumbing has been a family-owned business serving Durham through four generations of the Tilley family. With strong community ties, we aim to deliver top-notch plumbing repair, construction, and design-build services.

We have been serving the Triangle area for four generations of the Tilley family since 1947. Acme Plumbing was founded by W. Laurence Tilley, Sr., originally named S & T Plumbing. In 1952, W. L. ""Dub"" Tilley, Jr. and his wife, Shirley, joined the company full-time, leading to a name change to Tilley's Acme Plumbing & Heating Company, and later to Acme Plumbing & Heating Company. In 1957, the company was officially incorporated. He served as the General Manager of the Commercial Plumbing Department from 1984 to 1991. He became President in 1991. He was granted his state plumbing license in 1985. He has been a Registered Professional Engineer licensed to practice in North Carolina since 1984. In the last thirty years, he has effectively managed many design/build projects for both renovations and new builds.
