Understand we cannot rate less than ONE STAR or we would! We contacted ACME back in the middle of March of 2013 to have our NG fireplace worked on in anticipation of putting our house on the market. Today is July 10, 2013 and we still do not have a resolution. Jamy with ACME presented himself to be a professional and went out of his way in the beginning to help resolve the problem with our fireplace. He took the metal plate that holds our model/serial# information about the fireplace unit we have which we have not received back. Dawn, the Office Manager with ACME came across with great manners and professionalism in the beginning as well. As time went on, we were continuously pushed on their schedule and waited days for any type of response by phone or email. They prefer to use email... Jamy initially diagnosed what he thought was the problem and we were asked to pay for all parts and labor up front, in which we did. We were then pushed several times on the schedule, without question, before the first part was installed and found not to be the problem. Jamie then said we needed another part which we paid for up front along with the labor. After waiting for some time on the second part for repair, we contacted ACME with delayed responses each time as to what was going on with either the part and/or their schedule. We finally sent an email requesting we get our metal info plate back as well as a recommnedation on who we could contact to get our fireplace issue resolved. We were then pushed on their schedule several more times before a visit back to install the 2nd ordered part. Finally Jamy and his assistant came back to do the work with the 2nd repair part ordered. After installing the part, Jamy saw an outlet under the fireplace and in so many words, """" I have never seen that before"""". We should have known then that maybe his competancy wasn't what we needed to get our issue resolved. He then pulled the cover off the receptacle and pulled the """"guts"""" of it out. BOOM! He not only shocked himself, he blew out my 55"""" Samsung TV and Samsung Receiver. Jamy did call and consult someone else in the business as to what he thought might be the problem to no avail at that time. Understandably Jamie received a good shock and had to leave to be checked out. My wife and I pulled up the fireplace model info on the internet and proceeded to finish up installing the part and then troubleshoot each item we could to get things resolved. We spent 4-5 hours that evening and low and behold we were able to fix everything except a combustion issue. We called to check on Jamie the next day as well as relay we had fixed all but the combustion issue and we would still need to get this resolved. We also relayed we needed to go ahead and take our TV in for repair and we were assured they have insurance that would take care of it. Jamy emailed us and his contact from another fireplace business in hopes this person would contact us and get the combustion issue resolved. We never heard from this person. After several attempts to call and email ACME as to the status of when the issue would be addressed along with being compensated for the repair for our TV, Jamy was finally scheduled to come back on a Saturday morning. Thankfully he did bring us a check for $200.00 towards the $673.13 repair bill for our TV. After coming to an agreement on what he said he could and would do, today is 7/10/2013 and we started mid-March of 2013. He has been to my house SEVERAL times to repair my NG fireplace without resolve. On Jamy's last visit, while my parents were here, he shook my hand and gave me a $200.00 check towrd a $673.13 repair on my TV and we have not even gotten to my receiver. Still no answer from ACME on the balance. Long story short... STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

pathological liars: i lost three days of work waiting for them to show up and fix the problem (gas leak). they would not keep appointments yet would not cancel them. kept telling me that they are enroute sitting in traffic. when finally they showed up - they couldn't find the leak and then just dissappear with my money. i ended up hiring somebody else who found and fixed the leak in 45 minutes. just horrible, horrible experience!

This company is HORRIBLE!!! They should not be used for fireplace repair as they have no clue as to what they are doing. They do not stand behind their work or return their customer's calls. Furthermore if they destroy your personal property, they will not replace it. This company couldn't fix our problem, wouldn't call us back and then went on to bad mouth us to the folks who purchased our home and told them we didn't care if the fireplace worked all the time or not which is FALSE! We had another fireplace company to come in behind them and fix what they could not.
