I run AceStar Plumbing. Fully licensed #1000763. Currently active.
My plumbing journey began in early 1999 working for a major plumbing company in the East Bay. I dedicated 5 years servicing the Alameda and Contra Costa areas. As I gained more experience, I accepted an opportunity at a family-run plumbing business in the Tri-Valley. Our goal was to establish a local business dedicated to offering comprehensive plumbing solutions for both commercial and residential clients. I spent many years there. Over the course of 12 years, I learned a great deal from a small company by engaging in both administrative and hands-on tasks, which led me to pursue my own contractor's license back in 2015. I am now managing my own plumbing company, answering phones while managing jobs in the community.

I had an emergency need for a plumber YESTERDAY! We discovered a major leak under our kitchen sink and our warranty company denied it. I was frantic and put out a shout for a plumber. Johnny of Ace Star Plumbing called and said he was finishing up a job and would be here within an hour. Upon their arrival, Johnny noted the new faucet installed last year had broken, and instructed me that I needed a new faucet with attachments. I went to Home Depot and purchased what they recommended, and within an hour of my return they were back to put in the faucet. It took them about 1/2 hour and they were VERY professional, reasonable and they fit us into their schedule. I am so impressed with these guys and what is even more astonishing, they are located in El Sobrante. Please call Ace Star Plumbing at 510-837-8999; love them.

Original 1964 plumbing for the toilets and and part of the sewer line was leaking and needed replaced.
Johnny, Boon & Sammy did a great job. Professional and pleasant to work with.
I highly recommend Ace Star Plumbing.

I am a first time customer. We had our water heater replaced by Johnny and his crew today on super short notice. I called around 10am and they were here working on taking out the old water heater by 1:30pm. The whole crew was very friendly and very efficient! They brought in the exact size water heater we needed and no significant modifications were needed to make it work in our HVAC/water heater closet. I am impressed by how organized they were and how swiftly they replaced the old failing water heater with a new one. The finished install also looks cleaner than the previous setup. These guys are professionals and I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs a water heater replaced. We will probably call them first if we need other plumbing related work in our house. Thank you Johnny and crew!

Courteous and competent! And reasonable too! Will definitely call Johny back! Thanks!!

I have used AceStar Plumbing twice with great results. Johnny comes on time
and has very reasonable rates along with his excellent service. I recommend him for your plumbing needs

Johnny is very professional, responsive and covid-cautious ( masks booties etc).
He has done multiple job in my house: install fridge water line, replace galvanized piping from the house to the street, create exhaust/duct for the laundry.
He is efficient friendly and very good overall. He is now my go-to plumber for any questions and issues.

Showed up with a mask and shoe covers. Very efficient and professional work. Price was very reasonable. I would heartily recommend this company for your plumbing needs.

If you need a local plumber in the El Sobrante area, you can't do better. Fast response without the hassle of the bigger companies. We had an embarrassingly simple problem, and AceStar didn't charge an annoying service fee.

Bypassed the LEAKING water pipe from under the house concrete slab by rerouting the water tubing through the attic to the main WATER MANIFOLD and replaced the old WATER TANK, all in one single day. They did a clean and professional job. Above any expectations. I highly recommend them especially for people living in the Sherwood Forrest area because they know the plan of the houses. Their estimates are comparatively very reasonable.

Our Oakland home has two original 1930 era toilets that developed leaks coming from the pipe that connects the toilet bowl to the wall-mounted tank.
As it turns out, it's hard to find a plumber who is both qualified and willing to work on vintage toilets. Most plumbers want to scrap the old toilet and install a new toilet. In our case that would require ripping up our original bathroom tile floors to install a new flange and sacrificing the authenticity that is part of our heritage home.
Johnny at AceStar Plumbing came to our rescue. He was actually referred by another plumber who didn't feel qualified to do the work. Johnny's only requirement was that I purchase the needed parts (flush valve, ell and spud) and have them ready to install. He carefully removed the wall tanks, replaced the parts, reassembled the toilets, secured the tanks to the tile walls using new anchors and thoroughly tested everything.
In addition to fixing both toilets he repacked the leaking hot and cold water valve stems in the shower.
I can confidently say this about Johnny -- he responds quickly to calls and texts, he is on-time, he is thorough, he is honest, and he is fairly priced. I would highly recommend him to others and would use him again for any plumbing issue that may arise in the future.
