Good service for the modest prices, extremely friendly and I will be recommending to all of my friends and family members.
Keith E.Was here when he said and did the job right. Would recommend Ace for any needs. He did a fantastic job in an emergency.
Cathy C.Ed came out to hydrojet three of our sump line & gutter-connected drain tiles. He explained everything to us so we knew what to expect and within an hour he fixed all three damned up waterways. Very professional and polite guy!
Wayne is awesome! He is reliable, fast and his prices are very reasonable. He has been doing work for me for a few years now and what I truly appreciate is that he is a trustworthy plumber.
Cindy G.Service was great!! I called Ed and he showed up in under 30 min. We needed our leaky broken bathtub faucet repaired, he was reliable and got the job done! I would definitely recommend Ace Plumbing.
Great company, what really sets Ace's plumbing and Sewer apart is that they are efficient and care about the work they do. Ed helped me on our sewer repair and finished the job quicker than we were expecting and even quoted us lower than our previous plumber. Would definitely recommend
We have been using ace for over 25 years...we have had some serious plumbing issues and Wayne and the gang has been servicing our plumbing needs in a cost efficient and timely manner

Issues: unresolved after 90+ days
I basically got screwed by using Ed to complete a new toilet install. This is why.
I called several plumbers in the area, and they all quoted my $300-$375 to install a ""smart toilet"". Only caveat was that none of them could come for a few weeks, and I wanted the job done sooner rather than later. I already had the electrical outlet placed by my electrician, so what was required was to take the old basic toilet out and install the new one.
I called Ed at ACE Plumbing on a Friday, and he said he could come out the following Tuesday. This should have been my first clue to not use him, because he was readily available. I asked him to give me a general price quote for the job, and he declined to do so over the phone. He said he charged a $125 service call to come out to give me a quote, but that would be applied to the job total.
This was my first mistake. Had I known in advance that he would charge $675 for one hour of work I would have DECLINED to use him. Whether I used him or not I still have to pay his service fee, so I felt screwed no matter what. I'm also fairly certain he decided to charge me more because a) I am a female and was all alone at home with a baby, b) I live in Burr Ridge, even though I live in a shack compared 95% of the houses in the area.
When he gave me the price quote I was a bit astonished. But there was something about him that borderline made me fear for my personal safety if I declined on the spot. He also said he promised he did excellent work, and did a lot of groveling that I would care to forget. It was a really uncomfortable situation that I never want to experience again.
My next mistake was letting him do this job alone. He didn't have the proper equipment and straps to move the next toilet upstairs, and I had to help him carry/move it up the stairs so he wouldn't damage them. I thought he would be OK once he got it upstairs, because he had it on wheels to move it to the bathroom. WRONG. So wrong, was I! He RAKED the toilet across my brand new polished Carrera marble floors and scratched the flooring SO BADLY that it can't simply be buffed out. Like ALL of the flooring in the bathroom needs to be sanded down and polished by 1/8 inch because he so severely f----ed the flooring.
Before he left, I called him out on damaging the floors that he did NOT tell me about/thought I wouldn't notice. He said he didn't know what I was talking about, as he sheepishly looked down and avoided making eye contact. I made him come with me upstairs to look at the scratches, and he said ""oh, that's just ceramic dust from the toilet.""
Nope. Sure wasn't. He also tried to say that marble was SO HARD and never scratches. Clearly this man has never owned anything with marble, as marble is just about the most finicky, delicate material there is.
So he finally owns up to the fact that he totally screwed my flooring, and says ""the brother in law does tile. I'll have him come and fix this at my expense."" He wrote on the invoice that he owed me the flooring repair at his expense.
Later that afternoon I messaged Ed to let him know two other plumbers happily gave me price quotes over the phone at half the price he charged me. He said that was not true, but I think that the real issue here is that he feels entitled to charge maximum Union rates for a small potatoes residential job that doesn't warrant that rate. I also told him that it was unprofessional for him to f---k my flooring up so badly, and that he shouldn't be doing job with heavy objects on his own because he clearly is unable to lift heavy objects alone. He replied and said he would not take my ""verbal abuse"" and that his brother in law would be calling to set something up.
A month later, no word about getting my flooring fixed.
Two months later, I finally got his brother in law (Rob) to come out to assess the damage. Rob is super kind, and was frankly appalled that Ed damaged the flooring so badly having been in the plumbing business for so long. Rob stated he can't buff the scratches out, and that most of my bathroom will have to be sanded down 1/8"" and re-polished to fix the problem. Someone was supposed to contact me regarding scheduling, but that never happened.
It's now been over THREE MONTHS since this batched install took place. My flooring is still damaged, and I'm about to explore taking legal action for damages because this is just bad business practice.
I had Wayne out on 10/12 because of a toilet that wouldn't stop running. He had told me on a prior trip I needed a flap. Okey dokey. He put it in and sure enough an hour later the darn toilet starts running again. He called me back and said that my low profile Eljer toilet needs to be replaced. He said he would call me back with an estimate. Haven't heard back. Don't expect I will.
Was quoted $900 to rod out a floor drain in my basement and told there was possible tree roots. We had standing sewage in the area. Ed came in with his rodder, started rodding and within a matter of minutes the drain opened up, no tree roots. 54 minutes from the time he arrived until the time he left and 10 minutes of that was actual work. Spilled some bacteria on the floor and told us to disinfect and change the furnace filter. Called 8 other plumbers after the job and was told that $900 was absolutely ridiculous, should have been $275 at the most. BEWARE
