The last time I called a plumber he was a bigger guy who was working underneath my bathroom sink. Everytime he stood up he used my cabinet door to pull himself up. He didn't have all the parts he needed so he had to have a co-worker bring him the needed part. By the time my bathroom pipe was un-clogged, the door to the sink cabinet was off the hinges from him pulling on it and he wouldn't take responsibility.
So not even a year later my shower needed work. I needed to find a new plumber so I called around. The first 3 companies I called wanted me to pay for an estimate. I am a you tube watcher and try to fix everything myself, so I knew what the problem was, and what type of faucet I had and would explain this to them, but they wouldn't even listen. They would say you need to pay, $89 or $99 or $125. dollars just to have them come out and give me an estimate, and if they did the work they would apply that money to the total cost. That was a BIG red flag for me. So I kept calling.
I called Ace Plumbing and spoke with Donnie. I think he's the owner. The first thing he did that was different from the others was he listened to me. I told him what I knew about my shower and what I thought the problem might be.
He asked me when my house was built and asked if I could send him a picture of my shower faucet and knobs. I sent the picture and he explained what he thought the problem was just from my description and the picture. I could tell he knew what he was talking about. Being a single woman and navigating through the AV mechanics, electricians, handymen, etc. my BS meter has become fine tuned, and I could tell that Donnie was a capable straight forward plumber. The BS meter was never activated while talking to Donnie.
The quote he gave me was higher than I had anticipated, but because of how old my house was, and most likely the pipes were galvanized he explained why it would be beneficial to have the whole unit, not just the shower diverter replaced. I agreed with his explanation, and asked him when he was available.
He showed up today on time with the needed parts and got to work. He started with the diverter and asked me if I would come into the bathroom so that he could show me exactly what he was doing and why. I work from home and got back to it, when all of the sudden he said he had some good news for me. He said the hot and cold faucets had already been updated from the old plumbing and that it was only the diverter that needed fixing. The cost of the repair was cut in half. Whew, I was not expecting that at all. This week I needed to get my truck fixed, was quoted $430, but it cost me $1200. I needed to take my cat to the vet and they said I could go in with him if I wore a mask, but they didn't let go in and it cost me more than I had been quoted. But with Donnie from Ace Plumbing, I was given a fair estimate and it ended up being half that amount. Donnie is an honest and knowledgeable plumber and I am so glad I found someone reliable that I will definitely call for all my plumbing needs. I am sorry this is so long, but the week I had was very rough until I met Donnie.
Thank you Donnie! You started me off to a Great Weekend!

Donnie replaced my water heater several years ago and was wonderful then, so I was very relieved when I was able to track him down. He called me right away, I told him what was going on with my water heater, he had me send him some pictures of the unit and was instantly able to figure out the parts he needed to fix it. He was here before the end of the day, fixed it and was very fair in his pricing. Total life saver!!! So glad to know he's there to call.

Donnie is great! He was the only one who answered who had any knowledge about water heaters. I told him our issue, he asked a few questions and said he would call me back. He called me back promptly, said he would take a look SAME DAY and let us know what needs to be done! He fixed it right on the spot! We won't be calling anyone else, thanks for saving our water heater at Center's for Spiritual Living-Antelope Valley! We appreciate you!

Donnie is super! Explains everything. Very knowledgeable. We had a kitchen sink drain leak. Other plumbers wanted to tear out our exterior walls and gave a bid for thousands of dollars. Donnie knew of an easier way to fix it without all the destruction and at a TENTH of the price. Also fixed in a couple of hours, instead of the days of demolition and tearing up our home. Neat and clean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I will recommend Donnie to everyone I know.

Our water heater went out, I called ACE and Donnie came out a couple day later by my appt choose, bc I wasnt available. Any way Donnie not only replaced the burned out part, he explained in detail why it was the control box, which we got replaced under warranty, plus showing me the 'guts"" of the water heater and how to tell that the other parts were in great shape. Plus showed me the hidden air vents that should be kept clean to extend the life of the parts. He also took the time to explain simple DIY maintenance to me so I would not have to pay someone to flush out my tank. I will be calling Ace from now on. Thanks Donnie.

Outstanding service and response! Donnie and his technician came over within an hour, and completed the job in an hour/ hour and half time frame. They turned my main water line back on to test. Leak was gone! Pipe had a leak under ground that was connected to one of my solenoids. The ground became so saturated with water that my feet were sinking 6 inches into the ground. They took care of the problem and provided me a good price for repair that wasn't too big a job. I took a chance after only seeing three good reviews. I for one am pleased and would recommend them to anyone else! Thanks guys!

My house is 8 years old.
I had a clogged pipe in the downstairs bathroom on a Saturday night with company over!!! I've never had to call a plumber before and wasn't sure who to use, so I checked Yelp reviews. The first guy I called on Sunday morning had several reviews, all 5 stars. He tried 2 hrs the first day using a snake. The next day he returned, tried another method. After 2 hrs, still couldn't get it unclogged. Thankfully he didn't charge me for any of this since this is the 3rd day with two out of order bathrooms and now a toilet that is all scratched up from his snake.
Monday night a friend said to call Donnie with Ace, that he's very knowledgeable and reliable. His family has been in the plumbing business for decades, and he won't ""rip me off.""
I explained briefly over the phone to Donnie what the problem was, and he said he could be out Tuesday morning.
After searching around the house for clean out drains and not finding any (unusual, but happens he says when contractors are cheap and lazy), he says the toilet has to come off.
Donnie worked on this drain for 2 1/2 hrs, got it flowing freely, replaced the toilet using metal anchor bolts and threw away the plastic ones (yes, plastic!) the home builder had used, and charged me an amount that didn't seem like enough for all the work he'd done, so I gave him a small tip (it is Thanksgiving week after all :) )
I am so grateful I have my bathrooms working again, that I've found a trustworthy plumber, and I can't say enough to all of you reading....CALL DONNIE!! You will be glad you did.
