Recommended Customer Reviews
The technician (John) was professional and very informative so this two star rating is not on him.
When I received the quote from Lisa, I told her I would agree to the price if Ace would throw in the cost to relocate the thermostat (as per John's recommendation) to the other side of the kitchen, about 12 feet.
She told me she would do what she could. When the revised quote came in, it was a higher price than the original quote.
I emailed back that was not per our discussion.
All she had to do was tell me that they cannot throw the thermostat relocation in and I would have signed the contract and provided the 50% down payment. It's called negotiating. We are talking 3% of the quote.
Very unscrupulous business to just automatically Jack the price up.
Janet B.Don't lie to their customers about what they're doing and how much things are gonna cost
Highly recommend! We had to replace both our furnace and a/c unit and are so glad we chose to use Ace. The guys were very professional and kept us informed throughout the process. We had a lot done so ours was a two day process because of all that needed replaced. Josh and Dana went above and beyond what you would expect to make sure the whole process went smoothly. Awesome job done by all of them, day one there were several guys here. We will use again for yearly maintenance. And can't thank them enough for all they did.
Ace Mechanical Heating and Cooling, 5043 Old Rte. 36, Springfield, IL 62707, (217) 528-1900 made an appointment with me for June 1, 2020, between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 am, but they did not arrive at my home until 1:30 pm. The Ace Mechanical tech stated that my furnace coils were corroded, water was leaking down the furnace from the AC Unit causing the drip pan to rusted out resulting in me needing a new furnace. The ace tech stated that he needed to replace the furnace and that will resolve my AC Unit cooling issues, he added 16 of R22 @ $125.00 that allowed my AC Unit to cool my home for four days.
On June 29th, 2020, Ace Mechanical installed a new furnace; however, they did not do any repairs to my AC Unit. See the attached photo below dated, 8/3/20, of their patched-up job stating it was all American Home Shield Warranty allowed. I was so disappointed I wrote an email to Ace Mechanical requesting they right this wrong. Meanwhile, I have a furnace installed in late June and no AC Unit
August 4, 2020 Springfield Building and Zoning inspected A/C and Furnace installations completed by Ace Mechanical Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, and sanction them with the following violations: failure to get a permit, electrical wiring, controls and connections to equipment did not meet code, conduit bodies or fittings show be protected from abrasion did not meet code. It was also discovered that several employees (not licensed) did this installation as a side job under the umbrella of Ace Mechanical.
My family has had to endure extreme heat conditions rising pass 90 degrees in my home because your original work order dated May 26, 2020 from American Home Shield was regarding my AC unit that has not been completed by your company as of today. I am 65 years old and have suffered from two heat exhaustion episodes last week, my 17-year-old grandson who resides with me has asthma, and my oldest daughter has several health conditions. I am sure you are well aware that Springfield Illinois has been under and is currently under heat advisories with daily temperatures averaging well above 90 degrees and heat index averaging well over 100 degrees. So, can you imagine just how hot it is in my home. Pre Ace Mechanical's email it stated this company was waiting on the AC unit parts so it can be installed. My question is how did my original work order regarding the AC unit repairs turned into a new furnace installation when the AC unit should have been the priority over a furnace being installed in June?
