F*CK OFF Bill!

That's the response from Nick, the owner of Rellaire in Lodi, CA.

You can spend thousands of dollars with Rellaire and that's how Nick interacts with you. Tough guy.

I would have given Rellaire a 0, but that wasn't an option.

Within the last 2 months, I've spent $7,000. with Rellaire in Lodi, CA. for installing a tankless water heater and servicing a split HVAC system. 5 weeks ago, I ordered a new HVAC ceiling intake grill that would accept a 2"" filter with technician Brandon. After waiting several weeks without a response, I began calling the office inquiring about the replacement grill. After an additional 7-10 period without an update on my order, I spoke with Nick, the owner of Rellaire. Nick stated that they had received the grill and confirmed that the grill would accept a 2"" grill. I scheduled an installation for last Friday. My daughter was present when Brandon installed the new grill. When Brandon installed the grill, he informed my daughter that the intake grill was not 2"" deep as requested and the correct grill would have to be ordered. On Monday, I texted the owner Nick, who had previously assured me that the grill to be installed was 2"" deep. After a few texts back-n-forth with Nick offering excuses, I called Nick and informed him I would be taking my business elsewhere. Nick responded, ""F@CK OFF Bill!"" Nick hung-up on me.

There are other, quality, HVAC companies in Lodi.

Blackwell in Lodi CA, now Rellaire is a horrible company. They have abandoned an install/project they were doing at our home and completely blew us off and left us with a mess. Rellaire claims they exceed expectations? They are honest? Eric Blackwell does not care about his customers. Worst experience ever. Now we have to take them to court to make this right? Right there shows you what kind of company Blackwell/Rellaire is. How disappointing.

Called for cleaning, was told furnace was putting out CO2 and they had to turn my gas off (by law). Gave me quotes for all new units and told me the service call today would be waived if I gave deposit on new replacement units. I have paid 2 additional companies to come out and inspect the unit for saftey. NEITHER of which showed CO2 output on unit. Both other companies said sure your unit is getting older, and you may want to consider newer more efficient replacement units, but current system is operating fine. (Both other bids were less expensive as a side note)

So, I have paid 2 additional companies to come out and check my system based on ACE's SCARE TACTICS. I was also told as far as the original cleaning I paid ACE $70 for........ maybe, just maybe, someone lightly dusted it with a brush but defiantly did not clean and vacuum unit out properly!

Got to love a company using SCARE TACTICS to push you into a decision that is not necessary.

Make your own decision on whom you want to work with, but negative reviews are on this page for a reason!

I had a complete HVAC system replacement with ACE and RHEEM and APRILAIRE equipment two weeks ago. They were one of three HVAC vendors quoting on the job. I met the owner, Nick for the review, and then his quote. The install took 2 days and 3-4 persons were here. It was a messy / difficult job. With their new system in place only TWO WEEKS, I sent an email because of a minor malfunction. It was a minor issue but I got no response from ACE (issue: in Cooling mode, Automatic Fan, the inside blower will not shut off, and it is below 60F outside). So I sent the same email to another contact at ACE and again no response!! Now this morning the HVAC system is not working at all. No heat. No cool. No blower. I called but at 07:30 I was forwarded to an answering service getting their voicemail greeting ""Our voicemail is full--Good Bye"". I called all three ACE phone contacts I have. I did get Nick, owner, but only his voicemail. He is out of town for a week! I left him a voicemail. Calling Nick is the only way to reach ACE after hours?!? Soon after, Courtney from the office calls to schedule an appointment. She gave me excuses like her laptop was broken / she gets calls from customers all day / she does not understand the after-hours service problem.
This is not looking good for the long term.
My mistake was to PAY IN FULL AT INSTALLATION TIME. I should have done a hold-back like 50% until I was sure the system was stable. This system cost me $14,000, a major investment in this house. It is a bad feeling to have all of that malfunction. It appears that the company ""checked out"" when they were paid-in-full.

I had Ace come out and replace a blower motor on a Saturday, i was there with the technician, we inspected the blower wheel and it was in good condition, so he put it on a new blower motor and installed it.
I could have done this myself but i had been out of state and wouldn't be able to go buy the 128.00 blower motor till Monday, so i paid them 800.00 to install the new one on Saturday cause i had to leave town again.
Two weeks later the blower motor was making a noise, so i called them to go back and look at it.
The lady from the office called me and said the blower wheel was loose and needed to be replaced, to which i replied, your tech just put it in two weeks ago, tell him to tighten it up better.
Then a few days later another lady called me and again tried to tell me i needed a new blower wheel, and that i would have to pay for it because it was a different component than the motor that they already replaced.
Again i had to explain to the lady that the tech took this blower wheel off the old motor and installed it on the new motor. If he did not tighten it properly or adjust it to sit in the center of the blower housing, that is not something i should pay to resolve, and surly doesn't justify having to replace the blower wheel.
The tech finally came back out and adjusted or tightened the blower wheel, and after a month or so its still working good.
This just goes to show that this company is less than diligent in their business practices, and or outright fraudulent.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. I gave them 15 years of loyalty. In 2018 their guys came out and installed an air conditioner. The system leaked freon since the new unit was installed. The rep. came out to check it out and determined it was the evaporator coil. They replaced the coil in 2019 but the leak still exists. The rep. that came out in May of 2022
stated that the new coil was badly corroded. I assumed he would have told Nick. Since the coil is still under warranty, I thought that Ace would have replaced it (a chance it might have solved the leak issue). Their solution was to ignore me, like I never existed.

we have used this company a few years now. fair ,honest ,great work.I was told by a friend in the biz the field people were to create the largest bill they could at a diff company,he wouldnt do it so he works for Ace who does not pressure the tec to oversell changing out good parts.today its hard to trust svc companys you can trust Ace.

ACE heating came out to install a new furnace and ac unit. While the owner, Nick seemed nice and professional when he came out to quote the job and his prices beat out competitors, there definitely was a reason for such. Technicians came out to do the install, but cut LOTS of corners so that they could save their time and get out of here. Only when I had a trustworthy technician whose been servicing my old unit for years come and pointed out that the humidifier was attached incorrectly and was not pushing humidity out into the air. Upon further inspection, many issues were found that needed to be addressed. Per city code, a drip leg on the gas line was not installed. Humidifier not screwed onto duct. Air filter slot did not have a proper fitting filter rack and had a lage gap in back of return where proper filter slot should have been created instead of the hack job the technicians did. Also the insulation was resting on hot flue which is a fire hazard. Lots of corners cut by technicians definitely reveal why ACE is able to beat competitors' quotes.

Made two appointments, first appointment was a no show, called them and they said they could not find the house! No phone call, no Google Maps? Rescheduled for yesterday 03/19/2021 and again no show or no phone call. Phone person insinuated we obtained their phone number off a grocery store posting which lead us to think they thought we were not all that interested in a system or could not afford the system. But actually we got their name off of Rheem's website. We recently had a Rheem system installed in our Montana home and really liked it. A simple we are not interested in selling you a HVAC system or Waukegan is too far away would have been better. We waited all day yesterday for a 10:00 to 12:00 appointment, no show, no phone call!

Used them now 2 times, once for me and another for my mom. Jeremy is awesome, made my furnace work, for time being and gave me options. More cost effective to purchase new unit, and not worry, considering the age. He did not pressure me to purchase. The installers were friendly. When I thought the new unit wasnt working correctly, they were prompt to get someone out, but I cancelled that appointment because it was owner error, window was cracked open a bit .
will use again.
