I first met Mike when I noticed a strange bulge in the roof of our garage on one side and a sag in the other side. I called him on a Saturday and he was in the area and came within an hour. He showed me exactly what was causing it ( a problem with an attic I had built earlier from a shady ""contractor""). He gave me a very fair price to fix it, but since he said it was structurally sound I decided to postpone that job.
When we went to have our Kitchen remodeled after finding mold in the wall behind the sink a few months later, I remembered Mike had given me a reasonable price to fix the garage and he seemed very knowledgable. We were on a limited budget and could only afford to do half the kitchen remodel at the time, and Mike worked with us and gave us a reasonable price to get as much done as we could. We are very satisfied with the job and Mike was available to answer questions along the way.
I especially appreciated how Mike gave us a payment schedule. We knew exactly how much would be required for every milestone, unlike the ""contractor"" who had done the attic work, and wanted money all the time for this and that.
There were a few hiccups along the way, but some were our fault because I wanted to do a few extra things myself while the kitchen was torn up and Mike's guys were already scheduled elsewhere.
I would not hesitate to hire Ace Construction again. I believe Mike is a conscientious, honest contractor who does quality work at a reasonable price.

If you like poor installation, multiple errors, a foul attitude, messy contractors, and a 100% delay on your job, this is your contractor. Amongst the top issues was a counter installation job that was first missing an entire side of a waterfall countertop which Mike finally agreed to have fixed after weeks of disputing this error with him. He kept demanding payment for the kitchen installation even though it was completely unfinished and done incorrectly. He delayed the job for weeks before finally agreeing to do the installation correctly (before demanding further payment) then, when the installer came back, the waterfall edge was not level. My island looked like a trapezoid because the sides were not installed straight. This resulted in another slew of arguments including him cutting us off and hanging up, literally walking out of my house and getting into his car to leave, and no apology for the mistakes and delays. Instead, he actually said he would purposely delay the job longer because he insisted on getting paid for the crappy job that was done instead of having the job completed correctly. He had zero remorse for the delays he caused and his arrogant attitude was demeaning and insulting. In addition, he is not good with kitchen installations or large remodels, as much as he tried to defend that our $30k job was ""small"" to him. Instead of making things right, he tried to convince us to cut the cabinets which wouldn't fit the appliances correctly and make the cabinets look uneven, but he insisted that would be cheaper for him. When I told him that we paid for the correct installation, not for a ""cheap"" fix, he walked out and said he'd get back to us when he can. As a side note, he didn't do any of the design himself. We had discussed the option of re-configuring the kitchen to make a better use of the size and he required us to go to other kitchen/cabinet places to have them do the design for him because he didn't have time and wasn't really familiar on how to design a kitchen of this size. This is contrary to his initial sell when we went to his shop in Orange and saw examples of his kitchens. Since we were already so far in to the project, it was too late to change contractors and just get someone else to do the install.
His contractors never cleaned up after themselves and they made several errors including:
1) forgetting to re-install an a/c vent after demo, leaving an exposed air duct just blowing air in our attic for weeks until WE discovered the error when we noticed the duct tossed aside in our attic.
2) Painting the fireplace the wrong color entirely (he finally had the painter come back a month later to get this addressed)
3) Failing to properly prime doors, walls, and molding for paint such that the painting peeled away like a sticker days later.
4) Not properly installing flooring to the extent that there were significant uneven planks (imagine walking over a piece of floor that feels like you're stepping on a big bubble in several places).
5) Telling us on the day that they started demo that they wouldn't have a trash bin there to haul everything away. Instead, to save costs, they would just pile up all the trash in the living room then have someone haul the trash a week or so later (mind you, we were LIVING in the house during the remodel and he was well aware of the fact that we'd be living there with all of this dust and trash).
6) Cutting electrical in the bedroom when creating a new closet door (instead of bringing up the issue, they just cut through it and said we'd have to have an electrician fix it. This cost us several hundred dollars down the road).
7) Losing essential pieces of brand new appliances that we purchased specifically for the new kitchen (this was in addition to his cost for installing).
8) Incorrectly installing the dishwasher and garbage disposal (we ended up having to buy another garbage disposal after finding out that his installers damaged the first one)
9) Using the wrong plumbing connections and not connecting the pipes correctly causing the pipes to leak and eventually come apart.
10) Failing to install a regulator on the gas line to the cooktop causing flames way to high to be safe (again, it took several conversations before he agreed to send someone back to install this piece that should have been installed in the first place)
I pray this review encourages you to spare yourself the grief and find a different contractor. We started this job mid-June and were supposed to be done by mid-July. He didn't finish until after our son started school (mid-August). We went 2 months without a kitchen which was an obvious inconvenience for us and added to the cost of this entire project, but he didn't care at all when we mentioned these things to him. Instead, he kept defending what a wonderful job he had done and failed to acknowledge these errors without first enduring multiple disrespectful conversations attempting to reason with him.

We contracted with Mike to renovate our bathtub to a walk in shower. Mike was a pleasure to work with. He kept in contact with us the entire length of the renovation. Josh help me pick out the tile in their showroom. Alex and his workers were amazing to work with. Padrino, the tile person, and his workers did a fantastic job, they are hard workers and a joy to work with. I will definitely use this company on my future renovations. Thank you Mike on a job well done.

We initially hired Ace Construction and Plumbing to do plumbing work for us, and they did a great job. When we decided to remodel our entire kitchen, we decided to hire Ace Construction to do all the work! We worked with Stephanie in their store to help with design selections. She was patient, organized, and a great listener. She really understood my design aesthetic and gave great suggestions on improvements to our kitchen layout. After that was situated, we worked with Mike. Mike was honest and reliable and his price quotes made sense. We had a tight time frame to get the project complete and Mike and his team did NOT disappoint. Mike always kept us in the loop on what was happening and explained why things had to be delayed if they did. If there were mistakes made during the project, they were promptly corrected. We have done a few remodels in our home, and Ace Design and Remodeling has by far been the most professional and hard working crew we've worked with. The end product is an absolute dream. They finished the project on time and on budget. I would highly recommend that you hire them for your next project! Thank you Ace Construction and Plumbing! I love my kitchen!

First of all I would like to thank Mike for even considering our job request. We wanted to enclose a 2nd floor loft to make a 4th bedroom, basically a wall and door addition. Because of the small size of the job, a couple of contractors wouldn't quote us. Mike said no problem we'll handle it. We gave Mike the go ahead and his crews completed the job in 4 days. We are pleased with the results. I would highly recommend Ace Contractors for any remodeling job you may have.

We contracted Ace Construction to build an in-law suite onto our home. The addition consisted of extending an existing downstairs bedroom and breakfast nook, and adding approximately another 410 sq feet, including a bedroom, full bathroom, recreation area with wetbar, and new laundry hook-ups.
Mike's bid was all-inclusive, which is what really made us select Ace Construction to do the job, turnkey. Several other General Contractors we spoke to (some priced similar and some higher) either didn't do bathrooms, didn't do tile, didn't paint, etc. Mike's bid included everything from demo, haul-away, footings, concrete, framing, plumbing, electric, windows, doors, roof, tile, painting and all the necessary trades to provide a complete job.
Mike made sure that we were satisfied with every stage of the job. We are very happy with the finished product and are happy that we chose Mike and Ace Construction to do the work.

Mike and his guys at Ace Construction recently built a loft in our home and we absolutely love it! They were professional, kind and on time. We would recommend them to anyone thinking of having work done to their home. They did a wonderful job!

Ace Construction was Awesome. Their bid was much lower than the higher bids we received for the same job with our engineered plans. If I could do it again I would have used his architect and engineering from Ace. Mike is the owner and he is beyond flexible and easy to work with. You are going to make changes in the middle of your job and he was more than accommodating and he didn't charge us a change order. All the work was top notch. We visited three of his in-progress jobs before selecting him and all three home owners said the same thing I am saying. You won't regret hiring this man and his company. If you have heard about problems with contractors I can honestly tell you that you won't have problems with this man and his company. His workers cleaned up each day after the job. The workers arrived on time and all were courteous and helpful. We obtained other bids and some the other contractors made a big deal about how to connect to the main drain implying it would cost a lot more. Mike, the owner never made this an issue and when the job started he simply connected to the existing bathroom drain and did not have to start at the curb to find it like some of the other contractors suggested. This guy and his company are honest and beyond easy to work with.

I asked Mike to bid an interior paint job for my daughter's house. His bid was competitive with other bids I had received. I chose Ace for the job because of the quality of work performed in the past. I had a short window as storage fees for the furniture were adding up. He put a crew on the job immediately and they worked through the weekend. They finished on time and we were able to get the furniture delivered before incurring more storage fees.
The job was flawless!!! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

In 2014 we had ACE Construction do a remodel of approximately 75% of our home and we couldn't be more happy! Mike Aceves was professional, on top of it, and honest! The crew was skilled, fast and courteous. Since the remodel we entertain a lot and honestly almost every time someone walks in our home for the first time the first thing they say is... ""Wow!"". We've had ACE come back for a couple of smaller projects more recently and will continue to use them in the future, We even recommended ACE to our neighbor.
