UPDATE Oct27,2016: had Gabe fix a broken toilet and leaky bathroom faucet. Was able to squeeze me into is schedule very quickly. Excellent quality of work. Explained the repairs in layman's term. Fantastic value for the $ and level of service/expertise. A+++ Best plumber in San Diego.

I can understand why everyone raves about Accolade Plumbing on Yelp! I needed a kitchen faucet replaced. Tried calling another highly rated plumber on Yelp and they wanted $125/hour and couldn't schedule me for over a week. Accolade was able to come the very next day and only charged $85/hour. Gabe was extremely professional, friendly, cleaned up after himself, and did a great job. Highly recommend!!

Gabriel/Jay was awesome and very reasonably priced :) I found a leak in my garbage disposal over the weekend (of course, always at an inconvenient time), and he was able to come out by Tuesday. He replaced the entire unit in less than an hour, showed me how to reset it if I needed to, and went over all of the maintenance and warranties. Highly recommended. He is extremely thorough and kind. Thank you!!

Whaaaa??? A businessman who could make $85 in ten minutes, turning down that offer?

As it turns out, I had to have him come in anyway; he was done in five minutes, and totally was kind to me about my trouble. He was prompt, swift, neat, and understanding. He asked me to write a review. So here it is.

Jay gives the plumbing profession a good name. He very generously offered a simple DIY suggestion to try before spending money on a visit. When it turned out that our apartment's aging garbage disposal needed to be replaced, he came out and was very helpful and honest. I will keep him for my go-to plumber from now on!

Second time we used Gabe - first time was a 5 star review. This time hired him for a sudden water leak behind a wall.

Overall pretty good experience, but a few small issues that did not earn a 5 star review this time. Gabe responded quickly, is an overall nice guy, and seems to know his stuff (good diagnosis skills), has good pricing, but he is somewhat rough around the edges in people skills.

RESULT - $347 - to open walls inside house and diagnose and repair drainage pipe that was leaking. Good diagnosis skills. Also Gabe graciously took a quick look and fixed a kitchen faucet issue.

ISSUES:
1) Gabe almost recommended we pull entire marble cabinet out by hiring another company to pull it out - but I suggested we first try to open the walls a little and see if he could fix it.
2) Did not tell me ahead of time we had to hire a separate drywall repair person, so this added to the overall cost and was a surprise.
3) Scared me how he pounded and shook the pipes to remove them, in my mind risking more damage. I am not a plumber, but I wondered if there was a more delicate way to remove the pipes, without risking further damage.
4) Always brings dog with him (dog pooped on our front lawn, which Gabe cleaned up when I told him about it). We like dogs, but it is odd for any professional to bring a pet with them. And he seemed a little distracted by having the dog with him.

RECOMMENDATION - we would recommend and hire Gabe again. We would just be more cautious about asking what exactly was included and what skills he has related to the ENTIRE job (cabinet removal, dry wall, etc.), to make sure we were on the same page going in.

I needed a plumber to come over today and we were sure lucky to have it be Jay! He arrived when he said he would, called when he was on the way, explained what was needed and had the right parts, and got a leak and 3 faucets fixed in record time. Wow. And, he was very attentive to cleaning up the area and making sure everything was working before he left. Great job all around--- and very reasonable cost. Highly recommend--- this is my new ""go to"" for plumbing!.

Accolade is the best! Jay showed up at a moments notice to help us assess our water heater which had stopped working. It turned out that it was time to replace it (we knew that the heater was at the end of its useful life), and we didn't figure this out until late Friday afternoon. Jay was able assess the situation within an hour of our call on Friday, and helped us locate and order a replacement water heater and set up for an early morning delivery on Saturday morning. He then showed up bright and early on Saturday to pull out the old heater and install the new unit. He was quick, friendly and very professional. We will definitely use Accolade again for any needs we have in the future Thanks Jay!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The service provided by Jay was some of the best I have ever had, not just in plumbing, but in regards to any in home service. I am in the service industry myself, and I have to say that I was beyond impressed.
I had a clogged drain and about to leave town for a week, a home owners nightmare. I called Jay and he was flexible with his personal schedule on a weekend and came over on very short notice. His service was fast, explanatory and comprehensive. I couldn't be more happy with his service. Do yourself a favor, call him now.
