Company Overview

We deliver five-star support for various HVAC equipment. Our services include installation, maintenance, and repair of furnaces and air conditioners in in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Star, and Mountain Home. With more than five decades of experience, we have been delivering premium solutions for our clients. We’ve seen numerous changes in the industry, and we promise that we will persist to offer our clients the best experience.

Our company, Access Heating and Air Conditioning began in 1972 as a family-owned HVAC business until our owner, Keith Lithander purchased it in 1994. Right away, Keith focused on growth for the operation. In the initial 11 years, the company specialized in new construction until 2005, when he joined ISL; a network of contractors that convenes quarterly to discuss best practices in the service industry.

With the volatility of the construction field, he utilized what he acquired from ISL and revamped his strategy entirely. The company’s direction shifted to catering to residential clients directly. Focusing on client happiness, the customer base expanded from a small number to many thousands.

Today, Access Heating and Air Conditioning dedicates itself to delivering traditional support in a dynamic world. Our company was honored the 2009 accolade for Small Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in Meridian. We appreciate your support.

Our owner, Keith Lithander was raised in a little Midwest town. During his youth, he dedicated a significant part of his youth working under the guidance of his father updating properties. It was through his Dad's thoughtful mentorship that he developed multiple skills along with a robust work ethic.

After high school, in 1986, Keith graduated from Emmaus College and went on to complete a two-year course at an HVAC technical school.

In 1988, he formally began his HVAC career. In the first five years, he spent his time in the installation and maintenance of systems. Before long emerged as a valuable team member and expanded in various aspects of the business. He found his niche in home sales and kept enhancing his abilities for two more years.

At the start of 1994, he seized one of his dreams and took over Access Heating & Air Conditioning, a family-owned heating and air conditioning operation. Soon after utilized his expertise to develop the company. Keith has been at the helm of the crew at Access Heating and supporting Boise, Meridian, and the valley ever since.

Great team. Clear expectations set from sales interaction to execution of install. You can tell the team truly cares about what they are doing by seeing the attention to detail from every aspect of the job. From the straight and clean lines of the lineset, and ducting, to the question and answer to make sure the system was optimal for our use and house. Top notch in all aspects.

Ridiculously overcharged!!!

My AC went out July 7th and these guys made it out same day (business hours) which was great. Based on symptoms and a visual of the capacitor, knew what was wrong w/in 5 minutes. Replaced the $25 part and ran a few diagnostics. Gave me a squirt of 4oz of R22 Freon which I did not ask for and was stated would not be billed. And that was that. Spent about 35 to 40 minutes on site including time for a few glasses of water, some headache meds and chit chat time
.
Final bill - $440!

I paid but it seemed pretty steep so I politely asked for an itemized invoice the following day and 4 more times over the next 10 days. I really didn't think it was unreasonable to want to know exactly what I paid for.
I have yet to see that invoice.
I Will never use these guys again & cannot in good conscious recommend them.

A quick look into their review history will reveal some very similar stories and a habit of grossly overcharging. Especially for capacitors. I had to chuckle at one explanation offered which was that they only install the premium made in the USA capacitors. You know, the ones that cost $25 instead if $10!

I would avoid these guys at all cost. Many, many fair, honorable and respectable choices out there who won't gouge you for basic repairs.

I've downgraded my review from 2 to 1 star based on the fact that after 13 days of trying to communicate with them, i only hear back after they see the poor reviews and i still have yet to see any attempt at an itemized invoice. Pathetic business ethics.

Be forewarned; if you do pick them and it's your capacitor, a 10 minute installation of a $25 part is going to cost at least $440.

James and Luke were fast and friendly! They came out to do my regular service on my a/c and they were took care of business and had things up and running in no time. I called Monday and they were out Tuesday. I'd recommend them to my friends and family.

Would never call them again. My AC and furnace are less than 4 years old and the tech gave me an estimate of $9,000 to do things to the furnace that were unnecessary. I feel that he saw 2 older people and could pull one over on us.

I have never had a bad experience with Access. Everyone is very professional and have been wonderful to work with no matter if it was an install, service or maintenance visit. This time I had Roland come to my home to perform the maintenance for the first time and Cord (sp?) book my appointment. They were both very helpful and great to work with.

James and Roland were professional, efficient and extremely friendly. We have done business with Access Heating & Air for years and have never been disappointed. They do not try and sell you things you don't need and also let you know that they have the least expensive filters that we can drop by and pick up at anytime.
Thanks!

If you're looking for the cheapest price - I'll flat out tell you, you're not going to find it here. If you're looking for reliable, friendly service and thorough work - call them. And be honest with them about what your situation is. They WILL work with you to provide a variety of solutions. One year, they triaged the repairs over the course of several months so it didn't hit me all at once. I will always use them for HVAC service.

This company charges far more than a fair rate. Do your research in Boise before calling this company. Very friendly, but they surely don't understand how repeat business works...as it relates to competitive/fair pricing.
