Used to be a very competitive to price install with Lowes. Morrison was bought out Academy Air, Chesterfield for all Lowes plumbing install work. Academy Air employee with broidered jacket arrived? Received multiple texts from Lowes that Morrison Plumbing assigned and ""Your Professional will arrive between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM""?
I have experienced bait and switch product marketing but never service installer. Academy Air employee not only bragged owns Morrison but heaby sales pitch ended up pulling out Academy Air Home Service warranty program and Home Depot brochure for a $1600 quote to install a Rheem. That was after I declined a $3300 quote to install a EcoWater from Lowes. Claims AO Smith water softeners from Lowes are not upward pressurized for release? TBD.
Long story short, Sean was NOT an installer. 110% salesman. Did no research in crawlspace and outside to review where existing pressure release tubing goes and where exits outside of house. Office slack and polar shirt for sales not install quote. Another quote did this research. IF Academy Air did install detail, they would see they need to RE-route the release tubing to ensure water drains AWAY from house. Likely cause why current Culligan not working. Again, sales pitch, not trained installer.
Lots of pressure on 0% financing including 24 month financing with Home Depot. The detail estimate emailed to me was extremely disappointing. ""Whole Home System"" description subtotal $1,600? No breakout by parts and labor. See attached photo attached to Google review. $800 cash deposit is NOT Lowes policy and indicates cash flow problem from vendor. Declined $250 haul away of current system and $1600 did not include water softener price that I had to pick up!! Wow! Essentially $1600 labor for 2 hour replacement of water softener!! Replace softener ONLY. All water lines, pressure release value and release pressure tubing in place.
Academy Air google reviews are RE-routed to their home page to READ only. To write, must go to Google map and ""write a review"". Academy Air is now a monopoly in St Louis metro area for Missouri and Illinois. Academy Air is contracted installer for Home Depot and Lowes. Competitive pricing for plumbing and water system is St Louis metro area via Lowes or Home Depot is thing of the past.

When I mean I tried my best to work with this company, I had more compassion for them, then they have for me, my furnace went out I was without heat, they sent the young man out, great guy!!! I was told the parts had to be ordered, no one was keeping me updated, but the guy that came to do the work, every time I call the company, I was told someone would call me back which they never did until the very end, when they knew I have had enough, I went over a month waiting on the parts, and every time I called they had me feeling like I was doing something wrong, they was nonchalant about everything to me, the only person that showed any type of concern was the young fellow, he finally asked them to bring me some heaters out, which only did so much , I have a indoor pet that was so uncomfortable, I had to sit in one spot basically just to stay warm, had my daughter to call the lady was very nasty with her, told my daughter they tell everybody it takes 30 to 60 days for a part to come back, which was not true I would have never went with the company knowing my situation was too serious, it's understandable that things happen sometimes, but not no 30 to 60 days, I never dealt with a company that don't reach out to their customers and just feel like they just supposed to wait? Plus my furnace was left looking horrible, I wanted to try another company, but I had already paid them up front for the service, Plus half down for the parts, still no ?????parts, keep try to bring more heaters out, which is only running my light bill up,I want nothing else to do wth company, then had the nerves to think I still wanted to do the monthly plans, took money out of my account, but never finished the work
Kim B.I had them come out to do $8000 worth of work on a home I bought. I wasn't told at the time of the work that I needed an electrical permit from the county. What I also learned is that the company is supposed to pull the permit before work begins. It wasn't done because Academy had lost its Missouri license because someone got behind on the paperwork (they said) and they were in the process of getting everything worked out. There were 2 guys working at my house and because 1 of them had no idea what he was doing, everything had to be redone. It took approximately 4 months for Academy to get the permit and all of the messed up electrical issues fixed! Now mind you, no one is allowed to live in the home until the inspection is complete or the county will issue a fine. I asked over and over to speak with Brian, the electrical department manager and never, NOT ONE TIME did he call me to discuss this horrible situation. Their only saving grace was the one guy who knew what he was doing and did his best to keep me updated on the permit situation. His name is Aiden. He needs to be running the place; he's the only one who actually cares about the customers. This is just part of what I had to deal with. In a nutshell, if you choose to hire them grab your ibuprofen and a bottle of wine. You're gonna need it!
I contacted Academy air to help address a clogged sewer line on December 11th. They were unable to clear the tree roots and suggested I pay $9,000 to have them dig up the yard to replace the pipe. I was at the ICU with my father so I requested they leave a copy of the video and paperwork for me to review. Neither the video or paperwork were left and they have ignored 4 separate requests to provide the video and documentation. I have never seen anything like this and would suggest you call another plumbing company.
Service technicians always what they should be. Setting appointments very sketchy with answering service not sinked to field delays
Having to wait entire day for appointment is asking too much.
No updated throughout day on tech arrival forces customers to wait 10 hours for service
This company left me with broken furnice and AC. I called to do a maintenance of my old but working AC. I was basically interested in washing AC unit outside the house. The technician Jeremy Johnson completely messed up with my funice when he got inside it. He turned it off as he said and turned it back on. Guess nothing works anylonger. He called his boss and he suggested to replace a transformer. He did it but it still didn't work. So, he took an easy way to blaim it on an electrical panel. Their electrician Carlos came and he was actually knowledgeable and no complains about him. He did his job but it isn't an electrical issue. It is whatever Jeremy messed up inside a firnice with a circuit. I had to take 6 hours off at my job and the next time I can do is Monday. So, 4 days without AC at heat. My dog stays there 24 hours. They don't care about their customers. Stay away from this company as far as you can.
Called to repair a loose faucet. The faucet itself was still working but coupling nut was broken. Service man came in said it would cst 1100.00 to replace because there was no shut off and would have to turn the water off. He would have to replace the whole faucet because they do not make the part any longer! Said only alternative was to buy my own faucet and price would be $500.00 . This was for my moms house who is 90 years old and on a fixed income! Shame on you! Gouging people like that.
Had new heat pump system put in November 2023. Cosr 16k. Called in March 2024 for rhe spring check up they said needed to be done. Earliest time
was September 2024 called and canceled wanted to reschedule. Never called back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Zero star.
The workers that came to do my plumbing were wonderful. They were courteous & explained what had to b done. HOWEVER , I've tried 3 or 4 times with office & on line to have copy of receipt sent to me. If was signed electronically & I was told copy would come to my email. Never received anything as of today.
David S.I tried to get service from Academy Air this past week. I have a difficult situation: an AC unit on the top of my three-story townhouse. I initially made sure they had a 40-foot ladder to reach my roof, and was assured several times they did. After postponing service for several days, in the end they cancelled my appointment, claiming they didn't have such a ladder. I won't try them again.
