Recommended Customer Reviews
Avoid Absolute Services! We had a terrible experience with their poor customer service, price gouging, and lack of communication. They quoted over $1,600 for labor to replace a blower motor (which was under warranty) - FIVE TIMES more than other local companies. Despite requiring a $500 deposit to order the part and secure services, they repeatedly failed to provide updates, an ETA for the part, or even an itemized bill.
We reached out multiple times for a cost breakdown and to discuss concerns about their excessive charges, but they ignored our requests and refused to refund the deposit when we decided not to proceed. (we only asked for $443 so they would still get their service call fee) They also never disclosed that the deposit was nonrefundable until we asked for a refund. (how convenient) Attempts to speak with a manager went unanswered.
This company is unprofessional, overpriced, and unresponsive. I strongly recommend avoiding them and finding a more reliable service provider.
Previously, I have given Absolute Services a good review. After my latest service, I'd give them 0 stars if I could. This is going to be long winded. If you don't care to read the full thing, here's the shortened version. GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR HVAC SERVICES. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY DO IT. THEY WILL SELL YOU SOMETHING YOU DON'T NEED, CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS YOU DIDN'T AUTHORIZE BY CHANGING THE SCOPE OF WORK, AND TRY TO MAKE OUT LIKE YOU JUST WANT SOMETHING FOR FREE. ABSOLUTE IS DISRESPECTFUL TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. AS A CONSUMER, YOU DESERVE BETTER. THIS COMPANY IS OPERATING IN BAD FAITH
Here's my long story: My heat pump quit working. Because I've used Absolute in the past, and I have a membership, I went with them for hvac service. We had a tech come in. He stated that they could repair our old unit for about 5 grand, but they couldn't warranty the work due to a lineset problem. So, he sold us on a 17+ thousand dollar unit including a new lineset to get it up to code. We needed heat. I cried a little about having to take on this huge financial burden, but did it under the urgency and guidance of this tech. Two days later, two hvac specialists came in and put in a new unit. It was all going smoothly until we asked them about the lineset. The specialist told us we didn't need a new lineset. They had installed a UV lamp instead, something they did not ask about, they just did it. This lineset was supposed to over 1000 dollars of work; the UV lamp is worth 322 dollars. We were also supposed to get some electronic polorizing filter, a thing we certainly did not get. As soon as the specialists left, I sent an email about the fact that the scope of work was changed without our authorization. I got a text back saying Absoulte would not be changing our loan agreement because of the UV lamp install. Naturally, we started to escalate this, and 300ish and 1100 are two very different numbers. Since then we have been met with horrible customer service, rude management and desk workers, or radio silence. We reached out for days only be told several times that the office workers couldnt connect us to management. I also texted dispatch, requesting management to contact my husband. Finally, management called my husband back only to go round about on the phone, admit the fact that they did not give us the polarizing filter, and accuse him of wanting something free all because we want our money back on the lineset, rightfully so. Finally, we eventually got a call back. My husband offered a fair resolution. The management reaponded with something to the effect of, ""That's not how this works."" Because of Josh's (management) rude tone and unwillingness to work with us, my husband hung up the phone, simply asking to recieve both invoices. As we were now being accused of wanting something for free, and it was, ""my tech's word VS yours."" When there was not authorisation of a scope of work changr. Josh said he'd send us the invoice for the new scope of work. He did not. He told us he would contact us back. He has not. The only thing that has happened is that Absolute has tried to close out the loan agreement, not refunding us any of the money they owe is. This has been going on since December 30th. At this point, the Absolute Services is operating in bad faith.
Now, I know this post is long, but here's what I have to say about the whole thing: I trusted a supposedly reputable company so that this kind of thing wouldn't happen. I should not have to worry about being sold something I didn't really need. I could have just paid the 5 grand for repair and been done with it. Instead, Absolute sold me a 17 thousand dollar job I could have avoided. I took on a huge debt for this. A reputable company wouldn't argue with me about repaying me for a service that was not completed, and a reputable company wouldn't accuse me of ""wanting something for free"" when I'm just trying to be fair. Does this sound like a reputable company to you? They are operating in bad faith. Avoid them if you can. There are other companies that would treat you fairly and with respect.
Becca L.More like an absolute disaster. The water pump in my apartment failed over a week ago, and my landlord called instantly to try to get them out ASAP to fix it. At the time, the tub was filled with maybe one gallon of clean shower water that wouldn't drain. They came out for the first time last Friday I believe; and somehow they had managed to fill my entire tub and toilet with sewage water that was nearly overflowing. And didn't bother to pump it out themselves, no, they let it sit in my tub and toilet for over a week, just festering and making my entire apartment reek. They couldn't even bother to give us a good update as to when they'd be out. They kept giving us dates but then wouldn't show up, and wouldn't let us know why they didn't show. At one point, they said it would take up to 21 days to fix this problem, all the while, I cannot wash dishes, wash my hands, cook, shower, or use the bathroom AND my tub and toilet are still soaking in inches of sewage water. Very disgusting and unprofessional. They finally came to ""fix"" it last night, but left my place an absolute disaster. Couldn't be bothered to put back my things where they were from. My doormat was left 10 feet away from my door. Everything in my bathroom was all over the place. I started cleaning last night, only to find that my shower still wouldn't drain. They came this morning, and when they left, I found sewage water footprints all over my apartment, and now my apartment smells even worse. Really terrible, lazy, and inconsiderate service. They even went so far as to soak one of my bath mats in sewage water, and I took it out of the bathroom before they came to avoid that from happening! I will be posting online to let people know to not use this service. Absolutely ridiculous. Oh by the way, this job cost $4000.
Update: found a wet box under the kitchen sink, which is connected to the pump they replaced. They completely forgot to put the pipes back together so now under my sink smells bad too, and is damp. Thanks guys!
I had the electrical inspection in May. I called Absolute to schedule the work that he recommended. On the date of the initial inspection, Absolute rescheduled it without telling me and at a time when no one would be home. I called the office to get it back to the agreed time. Shortly after, Absolute called me to cancel the appointment and reschedule for Thursday, July 6. On Wednesday, Absolute called me and said the electrician could come that day. I agreed to that, expecting he would get the work done from the original inspection. Instead, he did another survey which increased the price of the estimate by $400. Also, he could not do that work that day and had to schedule it for July 6. There is definitely a lack of communication between whoever answers the phones and the dispatchers. I just renewed my membership, but I will look for another company next year. I was disappointed the company did not make any effort to resolve the issue or reduce the price for the inconvenience. A very disappointing experience.
Robinson S.Our Service Tech Advante was very personable, very knowledgeable and had no problems answering any and all questions or comcerns.
Was very thorough on explaining what he saw and recommends but never was pushy nor stated it has to be done. He was very transparent which is nice to know there are Great people doing their trade and not just taking your money for no reason. Absolute is Fortunate to have Hired Advante who is a Great Representative for their Company. I am always skeptical about any Home Service company and if had not been for Advante I probably would not have gone beyond just the A/C cleaning.
Excellent service and excellent job. Big thanks to Charlie, Sam and Mike.
Big thanks to the electrician (sorry I forgot your name) Big thanks to Dalton and Kyle for their service. Then there's James the salesman big thanks James.
Thank you too Christa.
Deborah S.Steven installed a new electric panel and ran a 220 wire to a new air unit I had installed in my add on Family room. He only recommended what I needed to have done. Even though he had a trainee assisting he oversaw everything and ensured everything was completed perfectly. I joined their maintenance service, which actually paid for its self for this one job. Thanks Steven!
