watching the way their workers drive, I wouldn't hire this company to flush my toilet, dude came VERY close to hitting me today while weaving in and out of traffic, cutting people off like he was going to a fire.. 2:46 pm Hull St near Rt 288, 9/9/2024
Very professional, courteous, and upfront about expectations of the the required service. I had a damaged sewer line in my newer home (4 years) due to poor installation during home construction. Jerry and team provided me with excellent service to discover where and what the issue was and what it would take to repair. This was a major dig, repair, and replace project. Jerry was straight forward about what would be involved in the project including the process and the time required. He was right on schedule and conducted the project as explained.
I contacted Absolute Plumbing based on recommendation of a trusted person and I'm glad I did.
No matter how desperate you feel, DO NOT hire this company. In my experience, they created more problems than they solved, they left a colossal mess behind, and they did not keep their commitments.
I hired them to replace a pump at a shared well. The day after their work, the pipes from the well to the homes served by that well had no water pressure. Absolute Plumbing told me that one of the pipes must have had a leak, but since they didn't know how to determine which one, they needed to replace all the pipes between the well and several houses for $25,000. Hmm, so two days prior, the pipes were fine, but then after Absolute replaced the pump, all the pipes had to be replaced? Isn't it suspicious that the pipes worked fine until Absolute showed up?
But I was desperate. My tenants could not live in their homes since there was no water, and I had moved them into hotels. I paid Absolute $25,000 for the project to replace the pipes. If they had performed average work, I would have no complaints. Instead, they recklessly maneuvered around my property, causing still more damage to the property infrastructure which they didn't fix, and they failed to answer simple questions about the work they did despite telling me they would do so.
I asked for a diagram of the pipes they had installed, and they told me they would provide it. After literally 14 documented requests by email and phone with the owner Jerry and other employees telling me again and again they would provide it, I finally got a scribbled picture accompanied by the words, ""If you have any questions, let me know."" Since the diagram was so crude, I asked questions. ""I will look into this and get back to you,"" I was told. I followed up seven times, but never heard a word from them again. I filed a complaint with the seemingly illegitimate BBB in hopes that the company would finish its conversation with me, but that process did not result in any further answers from this toxic company.
And what did Absolute Plumbing leave me with at the property? 1. They cut septic lines with their equipment but buried these instead of reporting them. I only learned of these cuts when tenants reported septic issues, so it was harder to fix since I had to dig up the earth again. 2. They destroyed a french drain by a house even though the tenant had stood at the edge of the house to tell the person with the excavator, ""There is a french drain here, so you need to dig this area by hand."" 3. Most egregiously, they destroyed the pump house in multiple ways. For some reason they tore the siding off the wall and ripped down the insulation from between the studs on the side where the pipes exited the structure and they never put it back together, but worse, they hit the building with their excavator knocking its framing out of square. I had to pay about $3000 to another contractor to rebuild the pump house. 4. And of course, they left a pile of project garbage on the property.
Jerry, the owner, told me the worker who was sent to my property was subsequently fired by Absolute for doing such bad work. But even though that worker is gone, Jerry is still there. Jerry as owner is responsible for the disaster that they caused me. He is responsible for resolving problems caused by his employees' work. You cannot count on him. His approach remains a risk to every potential customer.
This company was my nightmare.
I provided the above text to Jerry before sharing this review. I also gave him a photo of the pump house wall that was just studs with insulation on the ground. He didn't dispute the facts. He says he helped me the best he could, his team worked after hours on the project, and that the pump house was in bad condition to begin with (uh, so you pull the wall down and leave it that way?).
Jerry does everything he can to do things right the first time. If Murphys Law applies, he does everything he can to make it right.
I hired to install a whole house water filtration system. I want to separate this into 2 subjects.
First - TRUST- The billing practice of this company seriously needs to be called out. I was given an appointment which the tech did show up for at 4:30pm and was told he gets off at 5pm so we'd need to reschedule. He then charged me $140 and told me it would be applied to my install. One week later he did show up to do the install, did the install then only applied $70 from the $140, when I asked about it I was told the $70 was a service fee (according to their office manager they don't charge service fees). During the install he borrowed duct tape as apparently he didn't have any or couldn't find it on his truck so I lent him my new roll of gorilla tape ($18 roll) which fine but he then took it when he left. May seem petty to some but trust is critical in the service industry, if I can't trust you in my garage I'm certainly not going to recommend you to my neighbors! I supplied the entire filtration system and installed the plywood plus mounted the filter bracket. They did supply the water lines, fittings, pipe insulation and shut off valves (4 in total). I was charged $72.00 for 6 sticks of pipe insulation, more than double for what I could have bought it for. $120 for ball valves that should have been less than $50 for all. Yes, I do believe businesses should be allowed some markup on material but 150% seems excessive. I was told the job would take 1.5 hours to complete, he took 3.5 hours to do. While I understand and accept that some jobs do take longer than anticipated and have no problem paying for the time, the other questionable billing practices makes me question the entire bill.
Second- PERFORMANCE - To be fair the work done was done well, it was neat and best I can tell done correctly. The tech was knowledgeable and did the work without wasting a lot of time.
Overall: my recommendation is if you use this company make it very clear, if they set an appointment regardless of what time they show up they'll do the work and you'll not be charged. Get the quote spelled out and make it very clear you'll pay the quote and expect an itemized bill. Pay attention to the time they start and leave to ensure billing is accurate and you're truly paying accurate labor costs and ask what markup they do on material. I also wouldn't let them borrow anything from you; it's my nature to help people but again trust is critical, without it I want no parts of you!
These clowns showed up and told me they will return an hour. I later realized they charged me for their damn lunch hour. THEY WILL SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY.
Tammi J.After inspection I was asked to fix or replace my hot water heater. I called several companies and everyone wanted to come out and provide an estimate which I had to pay for. I was so frustrated. These estimates range fee from $89 to $140, but they would use it as a credit if you went with them, which I thought was utter BS. I called Absolute Plumbing and they gave me a flat rate for replacing the heater and I got it down within 3 days. The receptionist asked if it was urgent because if it was, she would fix me in sooner. Talk about excellent service. The plumber, can't remember his name was extremely knowledgeable and got right down to business. I would recommend them for
Anything plumbing related. JOB WELL DONE!
Nikhil N.We hired Absolute Plumbing to fix a leaking bath tub tap. What should have been a quick 1 hour project ended up being a complex project with $884 in initial charges. They replaced the entire tap fixture. The strange thing is they did not inform my tenant that once the water is turned on, all the taps in the house need to be opened gently to let the air bubbles out. There was a pipe burst resulting in a major water leak that occurred in my other restroom due to air bubbles. In addition to fixing the pipe burst, I will have to bear the cost for fixing drywall due to water leak. This is on top of the $884 I already paid them. They blamed the leak on weaker piping which is ridiculous since the leak happened after they worked the house and could have been avoided if the air bubbles were let out.
Avoid this company. They ADD extra charges to inflate the quoted price. They wanted to charge me $293 to install a toilet ( I supplied the toilet). The quote was less. Their unlicenced tech couldn't even install my faucet. Then when I disputed they said to dispose of the old toilet they will charge $25! They also wanted to charge $125/hour to pick up a toilet from Vamax. When I complained about these 2 new charges I was told they do not tell customers these charges unless they asked! Any companies or shops that I deal with, if I asked for any services they would come back with a price. Jerry the owner knew I was buying my toilet and yet never said he would charge $25 to dispose of the old toilet.
We had an issue with Lowe's installation services and called here
They came the next day, installed our gas range in an efficient manner and was significantly cheaper. I am very pleased!
