My husband and I had to replace our watermain after 45 years. We were referred to Tom from Able plumbing by a friend. Our house is a 100 years old so the foundation is solid and hard to get through. We had a 3 day notice from DEP plus the DOT was half way done paving our street. He got the permit the same day he gave us the estimate and did the job the next day for the best price. We were a little nervous and I asked a lot of questions but Tom was very calm and I kinda gathered he knew what he was doing.Him and his workers did an awesome job and we appreciate it and will highly recommend you to family, friends and neighbors.Thank you!

We had our 100 year old water main replaced and our water meter relocated and replaced.
The supervisor (owner?) arrived quickly after receiving our call, to look at our job and give a quote. We had another company come and do the same but Able's price was better and they responded quicker. This was not an emergency and they still started work only 2 days later. The crew did a perfect job under less than perfect condtions with our house being on a busy, narrow, and crowded street. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient and they did everything possible to cause the least amount of damage to our lawn. We highly recommend this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

In 2012 I paid them $14,000 to replace my sewer pipe to the city sewer. They came, and broke up concrete that I didn't even want broken up, and charged me. After one year the cement sidewalk stated flaking off because they poured it in the rain. So now I have to deal with a sidewalk that looks like it's 60 years old. Not to mention that I still have a sewage problem at this location, due to the fact that they admitted to me that they didn't replace the whole entire sewer pipe from start to finish. They only replaced a section! So now I'm $14,000 into this, with terrible looking cement, and the same sewer problem that I had hired them for years ago.

Don't take my word for it... read the other reviews. You can whistle dixie trying to get them to come back to fix the job... they just won't return since they have your money already. It's practically a criminal matter. I'm not the only person that has had problems with them... This company was on ""Help Me Howard"" also. They have multiple company names, and even own a company named ""Quality Plumbing"". I'm going to complain to the DEP, the DOB, and the dept of consumer affairs, and take any legal action I can. Save yourself a major headache and don't hire this company or any of its sub-companies.

Not very happy with the quality of work or their work ethics. This picture is just a sample of the damage. We contracted Able Island Plumbing for our sewer connection. Upon signing the contract they were very professional and prompt. After signing the contract the site manager/owner was rude. The machinery operator had no regard for our property and as a result cracked our driveway and sidewalk in several places.
When we pointed out the damages to the owner we were told that it states in the contract that they are not responsible for damages in the installation of sewer line, but he would give us a great price to replace the concrete that was damaged. He refused to comprise or make any restitution for all the concrete damages. Before I would pay Able Island Plumbing to repair what they damaged at their so called ""good price"", I would rather pay double for a contractor that takes pride in his business and workmanship. I wish I would have researched this company before we contracted them. I would definitely NOT recommended this company to anyone even if you think you're getting a ""good price"".

Do not do business with this company!
I hired this company in January 2009 to connect my home to the city sewer. They took a deposit and have been jerking me around ever since. They have not even started the job yet. I asked for my deposit back and never heard back from them again. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, The Department of Consumer Affairs and The Attorney Generals Office and am awaiting a reply from them.
