Here's my experience: My chair broke. I looked on Yelp and found Aaron, and based on the reviews, I decided to call him. We set an appointment for him to come out a couple of days later which was the best time for me. On the day of the appointment, he called an hour or so before our appointment time to say he could come earlier or he could come at the time we had set. It so happened that my schedule had changed and that earlier worked better for me, so he came early. That really worked well for me.

When he arrived, he was polite, professional, friendly, and efficient. He had the tools he needed with him. He fixed what was broken in the chair, and then tightened some of the other screws that had become a bit loose, so now the chair is stronger and more stable. In talking about the chair, we saw another problem that both that chair and another chair in the room had. He fixed that problem too - on both chairs. I paid him his fee which I considered to be quite reasonable, and then he left. Done!....Chair fixed. Cross that off the to-do list (which felt good!).

I can't think of any criticism or constructive suggestion to make. He came, was totally professional and had a good attitude, did a great job, charged a reasonable fee, and left. What more can you want? 5-stars.

I have used Aaron for 2 projects now, and have been extremely happy with his work. One was installing track lighting over a stairway, which he did very well, and the second was replacing and adjusting old, falling apart ""european"" hinges on kitchen cabinets. The cabinet job was one where I had previously hired another handyman who was defeated by the project. I was so discouraged, I figured I would just live with cabinet doors sagging and refusing to close properly. Then I took a chance on Aaron and he totally fixed all my cabinets for a very reasonable price. I have complete confidence in his abilities and his honesty.

I am the lucky beneficiary of the superb work that Aaron does, from conjuring the perfect custom closet with lighting and shelves, to fixing shoddy rooftop drainage systems, touching up paint, putting in pet doors/equipment, and installing/trouble shooting a state-of-the-art entertainment system. The list goes on. Aaron has such a gift for both simple and complex creative solutions to everyday quandaries, not to mention a real eye for the aesthetics of a proposed project. Add integrity and a wonderful capacity to explain exactly what he's doing and why... really the whole package. I am really impressed by his skills and work ethic, and could not be happier with the results of his efforts.

I also appreciate how conscientious he is with cleaning up after every day so I can live in the house while he's working, sometimes for weeks at a time for more complex projects that involve knocking down walls. He's incredibly trustworthy and does a better job of locking up the house to keep out hooligans than I am, although I'll admit that this hooligan has had to climb through the pet door a few times to get back in the house. Bonus points for being great with the four dogs we have around the house.

I contacted ABC maintenance service for a wooden furniture scratch repair after seeing good reviews on yelp. Aaron Cohick was very responsive on email and also arrived on time to do a free assessment. I did not use his service because the scratches weren't noticeable enough and didn't really deserve a repair. He suggested that and I would definitely like to praise him for his honesty.

However I would like to point out that his estimate for another wood work related project was a bit pricey i.e. over $200 for the kind of work.

He didn't try to cheat me out by fiddling with the furniture unnecessarily to milk money. In fact he clearly stated that it was not his area of expertise so 5 stars for that. He was friendly and polite and also knowledgeable.

I called Aaron at the last minute to help me put together a bunch of IKEA Items. So here is why you should work with Aaron:
- He accommodates last minute requests and shows up on time
- He puts things together real quick
- He understands placement of furniture and advices on overall setup
- He does not give up on "" the bed from hell"" Ikea Sultan Slats
- He is reasonably priced

Oh and I forget he is a good guy

All in all Aaron has re-enforced my faith in the fact that you can setup an entire house in 4 hours and not lose much sleep.

I found Aaron on yelp, and very glad I did. He is very knowledgeable, fairly priced, and did good quality work. I had several things that needed to attention in our building - door bell, water heaters and exhaust, door planing. He came over and gave an on target quote, went to the supply store to get the parts, then was back again to fix everything. He finished all these jobs in an afternoon, as well as a couple more I tacked on when he gave good advice on how to address a couple problems cheaply and effectively. I will definitely call him the next job I have. I am already planning to replace an oven - which he gave some useful advice on.

A of ABC Maintenance always showed up on time, gave me a realistic estimate, and got on with the jobs. When he was finished, he tidied up and everything looked great. I never got the feeling he stalled or invented little side trips to pad the hourly charges. (Don't let me get me started on the plumber who messed up my whole 4th of July weekend!)

I don't enjoy naming the simple-for-other-people tasks that I find impossibly tedious because I am just so bad at them that they make me crazy, but I will. ABC did these jobs for me at various times over 6 months:

---assembling Ikea items
---hanging pictures straight
---hanging a shelf unit nice and level and straight
---designing and replacing defective legs to my crappy couch
---routing my dvd player, my vcr and my obsolete tv thru my HD converter boxes.

Don't waste your time on 6 hour windows when some flake may or may not show up to provide a service. ABC Maintenance is a reliable choice for all kinds of handyman tasks. Check it out.

As a single woman living in San Francisco, you don't have to look far to find someone to help you with tech support. But finding someone who can deliver tech support AND who has problem solving/fix it/mechanical abilities? Virtually non existent, until I came across ABC.

Mechanical reasoning of any kind is not really a strength for me, so I took for granted having had the privilege of partners in my life who were capable of doing things like put together my bookshelves and fixing doors and all that stuff. When I moved into my new place, I was single and faced with a variety of tasks that seemed insurmountable. Enter Aaron and his indispensable services.

Aaron helped me to set up my stereo system (including wifi and being able to play remotely from my laptop -cool!), properly hang a 70 lb mirror on my wall without fear that it would fall, fixing a door jam and a whole host of around the house tasks that generally make my life better, all at very reasonable rates and an honest and forthright assessment.

But most importantly, let's face it ladies (and gentlemen), in this day and age, there are alot of crazy peeps out there, and you just never know who you can trust (with your stuff and your personal safety). And as a woman, I'm particularly sensitive to being ripped off or having the wool pulled over my proverbial eyes. Aaron and ABC are straightforward, honest and they get the job done right. I'll definitely be using them again!
