We moved to TX from Pa and just bought our 1st house here last May (lawn looked very nice at that time) but after the drought last year, yard was starting to look pretty bad and being from another state, we were not at all familiar with the types of grass or how to take care of it. Main problem was weeds, dead/brown patches & fire ants so after all the commercials I had seen for ABC where they show these beautiful lawns, we decided to call. The salesman Joe was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable and I told him I wanted my yard to look beautiful and be free of weeds. He did agree we had alot but said he has seen much worse so ours should not be a problem. After a cup of coffee for Joe, we signed all the papers for a year contract to treat the diseased grass, weed treatment and fire ants. Well 2 months later my yard looks the exact same so I called ABC and they sent another rep out to discuss my yard. This young man was also very nice and knowledgeable and went on to explain to me that the weeds I am seeing are Dallisgrass and they (ABC) do not treat for that! I was completely shocked because my whole yard is filled with Dallisgrass...I would think that the 1st thing Joe (the original sales rep) would have said to me is exactly that, especially since he knew my main concern were weeds & that I have no idea of the types of weeds/grass in TX. I still can't believe he never even mentioned the name Dallisgrass to me or said there was nothing they could do for it! So I asked the 2nd rep what I need to do to have a beautiful lawn and he basically told me all the things I could do; rake, use round up, dig the weeds..ect. So now I am wondering what the heck I am paying $127 + tax every quarter for????
I give 2 stars because as I said the reps are very nice and the service also included a check of our irrigation system and that rep was really nice and helpful and set our sprinkler system up for us to make sure it was running at the best times. Also the fire ants in the lawn are gone ( they didn't treat the ones in the beds which the contract does say it includes).

They get two stars because they come off nice and professional, are easy to deal with and I haven't found any live carpenter ants inside of my house in a long time.

They lose one star because they tell you that you're only signing up for a certain number of treatments, when actually the woman on the phone informed me that all of their contracts are auto-renewing for one year. If I hadn't told them to stop coming, they would have kept charging me. Seems a little shady.

They lose two more stars because they were treating my house for carpenter ants and told me that I had no termites on my property. Come to find out, just a few months later, all my trees in my front yard are full of carpenter ants and termites. Their quality of work and expertise seem to be lacking. I won't use them again. I feel like I wasted $400.

I chose to use ABC for my lawn services, but after 3 months of nothing but troubles I am getting to the point that I might cancel the service. Since day one, their communication and customer service has been nothing horrible. I have had to call them at least 10 times to inquire about my service. They don't show up when they say they will, they don't call back when they say they will check on the problem, but they are pretty quick to send me their bill. Here it is on the day they are scheduled to come, at 7:20 in the evening and they didn't show up again. Last time they came at 6:25 in the evening and mowed my lawn in the dark. Sad that because of their lack of communication with their customers and empty promises made when they sold me the account, they are not just losing my business, but others that I have referred to them are thinking twice about the company.

We hired this team about 9 months ago for pest control (ants and other strange creatures) for our home. They've fixed the problem and we continue to enjoy a pest-free home under their care. They are a little on the expensive side, but we have nothing but good things to say.

I had a bit of a shady experience with these guys.

A month ago, a bird got stuck in my oven vent and I called ABC. They sent over a sales guy, who said it'd be $200 to remove it, but for $450, they could do a "full seal" of the house (which, of course, if I didn't do, I'd soon be overrun by rodents, blah blah blah).

I said I just wanted the bird out. So we set up a time, a few days later, for them to come remove it. Sales Guy asked if I wanted to take care of the bill in advance, so I (stupidly) wrote him a check. It all felt a little high-pressure (he also did a "full inspection" of the house and was overall kinda hard to get to leave).

A few hours later, I had second thoughts and called ABC to cancel it. Their lady said no problem, and they'd either return my check or tear it up. Cool.

Later that day, Sales Guy calls me and wants to know why I cancelled. I didn't respond to the voicemail, figuring we had nothing to talk about

A week later, I see that they've deposited my check. That means that, knowing I'd cancelled the service, Sales Guy deposited my check anyway. For work he KNEW they weren't going to do

I called ABC, the lady was apologetic and said they'd cut me a check. Which they did. But I feel like if I hadn't caught it that they would've kept my money.

Like I said - shady.

Recently we had a problem with those pesky squirrels chewing a whole in our roof and deciding to take up residence in our attic. We called ABC Pest Control, you might ask why? My question also. They set a trap in the attic, checked it 3 times of course did not catch anything. Sprayed some foam along roof line and placed approx. 8 inches of flashing along roof line. This all cost us $225.00 We could have done t his for exactly $ 10.00. A complete rip off !!!! We will NEVER call ABC again.

Honestly what drew me to ABC was constantly seeing their name in the news for different charity events. I have never seen a company so involved in the community, going beyond simply providing great service! Keep up the great work guys!

These people are out and out CROOKS. They employ untrained workers and managers Who all give you the ran around. After dealing with these thieves, I spoke to a small family owned company. Right there on the phone, the guy told me that the rats had become "trap-shy," and that was the issue. I called another expensive place, and they said the same thing. Once they are afraid of traps they will never go near them again. Why did't ABC Pest Control not know this very basic info? Because the dont KNOW what they are doing.

If I could give these idiots zero stars, I would. I have a mice and rat problem. When I called them, I had heard occasional scratching in one corner of my kitchen and the adjacent bedroom, hence they were inside a wall. These idiots came and set traps, caught a few, and that was it. I kept hearing noises and they kept coming back. There waas never ANYTHING in the traps, but they had no clue what to do. So I have the manager sent out. I was told he knows everything, he's been in the business for 13 years. So, at last I think I have a competent person who can get them out of the interior wall. Guess what the expert says: Set more traps. Change the bait. He was here an gone in 5 minutes. Still no results, and the rat population is increasing by leaps and bounds.

Meanwhile 2 mos have gone by. This entire time they have promised me that they would catch them, not to worry. The have continued to keep setting traps and catching nothing. The mice and rats are so much worse. I hear them fighting and squeaking in my kitchen. They run through all the cabinets., and I here them all the time, not longer just at night, but also in the daytime. My dogs were barking, and I actually saw a rat frozen on my dining room table! Horror! Last night I left the light on in the kitchen, and I saw a rat and a mouse run along the kitchnen counter! I have not been able to cook for 2 mos, and now it is Christmas. I am losing my sanity, and rodents are doing $50,000 of damage to my kitchen.

To add insult to injury the guys who "sealed the house" did so horribly. One one gable facing the street, I had some little chewed edges of siding. Instead of caulking under it, or providing mesh screen, he attached 8x8 squares of heavy metal flashing.

Before they came, I paid a lot of money to thourougly disinfect my kitchen, so these guy came to a completely clean kitchen. He even pulled out the appliances and cleaned under them.

My cabinets need to be replaced due to rat urine and feces. They have also gotten into my dishwasher and stove.. EW. so THOSE need to be replaced. I think we are looking at $40,000 of damage here, not to mention the untold cost to my health. Rats spread fatal diseases to humans. Also my 7 lb terrier caught a rat in the hallway in the middle of the night. He was screaming, and I was terrified. Turns out he had caught a rat and they fought until he killed the rat. Bear in mind, my dog is about the size of a rat. My dog's neck was covered in blood, so of course, I panicked. After washing it off, I could see that teh rat had clawed all the fur off his neck! And there were teeth marks. My poor little dog had been bitten by this horrible rat. $200 vet bill and he waas fine. I hope. He keeps coughing. The ridiculous part is that the rat he killed was stuck to a glueboard... that means the rat had somehow drug himself into the hallway while stuck to a glue trap.

My precious dog could have died a painful death from the rat fight. I am personally losing my sanity with the constant sounds of vermin in my kitchen.

Do not waste one phone call on these people. They are clearly running a racket with completely untrained techs and supervisors. They give you a low ball price and then give up , saying the can't help me, and it's my fault I have rats. The situation got tremendously worse after they sealed the house the first visit. That did not make sense to me. Don' you want to get the rats OUT before you seal their entry way? Once it's sealed they are stuck in there.

One other problem is that I have having respiratory issues, and so is my dog. I am terrified that we have the plague from breathing rat pee, poop, and nesting material. (yes, they do carry the plague, leptospirosis and a host of other diseases.

I work in a small office setting, and we have been dealing with a rat problem for weeks. We've tried everything - covering up holes, live traps, glue paper - but still the devious rodent eluded us. Finally we gave up and called ABC, and they took care of the problem quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, they were some of the most friendly and polite service men I've ever worked with. Highly recommended!

Read the fine print when signing contracts! I unknowingly committed to an annual contract, which ABC will not let me out of, even though we've had no sign of pests. I had a bad feeling about the "inspector" aka sales person who made the initial visit ... should have listened to my gut.
