This company is very responsive and their technicians show up on time and are very professional. That's about all I can say that's good about this company. They're ridiculously expensive. Any time they come out they tell you that you need a new system and that system is going to be an exorbitant amount of money! Their techs are obviously commissioned or told to try and upsell as much as possible. They gave me a quote of $450 to replace a capacitor on my ac unit. The part is literally $40 or less. I'm all for running a business and making a profit, but there's a difference between making a profit and price gouging.

I've used Abacus for my plumbing and electrical needs for years. They are always responsive and every technician that has come out has been knowledgeable and honest. I can trust Abacus when they recommend a certain service.

Poor Customer Service -
I like many had busted pipes after the infamous Texas Freeze that are in need of repair/repiping. I called Abacus Plumbing and was placed on their waiting list for an appointment. I received a text message on Sunday morning advising I had an appointment scheduled the next day (3/15/2021) and a confirmation "C" was needed to confirm my appointment. Of course, I confirmed and gave them a call to confirm over the phone as well since my text did not list an arrival time. I asked if they could arrive after 12pm since I was working, was told it would be added to my appointment comment and advised they would call me 30 minutes to an hour prior to their arrival time. Since no time was given, I took off work 4 hours early and went to my home to await there call and arrival. My home has been without water since the freeze (28 days now). After waiting 6 hours for a call, I started calling them to find out when they would be arriving. After trying for over 30 minutes, I finally got someone to answer the phone (@635pm). This is when I am told, I DO NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT and it was re-scheduled to 3/22/21. After stating, this is incorrect and I do have an appointment and confirmation, I am told it was re-scheduled; she is sorry I had to wait so long and that nobody contacted me about the change in the appointment. Me being obviously upset, she asked to put me on hold (10 mins) to speak with a supervisor. At this point, I am nearing 7 hours of waiting in a home without a running toilet. She returns to the phone and offers me 3 coupons equaling $60 to use for a future call. Now why in the world would I WANT 3 coupons from a company whom does not give the common curtesy of a call notifying you of a change in appointment. Still upset about waiting 7 hours now, she states she would reach back out the supervisor to see what else could be done (another 15 mins waiting). She returned to the call stating the supervisor is not available and would ask him to call me back. As of now 2pm on 3/16/21, I have not heard back. I understand they are swamped with calls for service and everyone needs a plumber but so do I. I am completely disgusted with this company. According to their Core Values, Honesty, Integrity, Teamwork and respect, they FAILED with me.

I had an appointment that was scheduled for 3/9/2021 but they did not show up. This appointment was scheduled two weeks in advance. I called them and was told that my appointment was rescheduled but not by me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that someone would call me but of course no one called. I called a second time and was told all the supervisors were in a meeting and someone would call me back by 2pm today but of course no one did.

I have been an Abacus customer for 3 years now. No longer though. After the worst crisis in Houston weather history I am still yet to hear back from them. We had pipes burst and are club members and have been for the last 3 years. Left 3 messages, sat on hold for an hour 3 separate times trying to get through and even sent an email. They have lost a customer for a lifetime.

Paid over $20,000 for full house repipe and other services, No leaks, just crud in the water coming in clogging galvanized pipe.

Workers come the next day to fix drywall, have to stop because there are leaks in the repairs caused by the workers. We are now being told we need to shut off water to the house for near another week because they cant come and fix their own errors.

We have had very little water flow in a month, Bathing is next to impossible. This is highly inappropriate. As of writing this I am on the phone getting passed around because managers do not want to answer

Called them after the freeze and the appointment wa 7 days later. Finally nine days later they sent me a text wanting to know if I still needed service. Did not even answer them! A local plumbing company came out the same day and fixed the split valve. (S & B PLMBING ON Bournewood, Sugar Land). Stay away from these guys even if it is a Tom Tynan recommended company. After reading other reviews I guess I was lucky they did not come out!!!f

The WORST BY FAR ! please read below

We used Home advisor to find them when the freeze hit. We know it was hard to get plumbers, but we secured a date and time and prepaid $193 for them to arrive. Not only did they NOT arrive, but two days prior they sent us a text saying that they will get to us when they can and for us to find other plumbers if possible. We were already without water for almost 10 days. I called them three days in a row. Their phone system said they were busy and could I get a call back. I said yes. No one called! And I did the same on the second day. No one called again. I even told them my reference number and still no one called by the THIRD day.
I called home advisor and canceled them.
They then sent me a text saying that they could come out during the second or third week of March! Did they really think that I could go without water in my house for one month? No one has ever called me since.
I called three local plumbers immediately and one showed up and fixed our problems within 3 hours. We now have water and showers and laundry and everything is normal.
Abacus is the WORST. Look at their ratings! DO NOT USE THEM. There are decent plumbers out there.

As you know Texas had a major event that has caused a shortage of plumbers. That event caused me to have have busted pipes. So due to the busted pipes I called Abacus to see when I could get a plumber to repair them. I understood I would have to wait in line for a plumber but I did expect a call to let me know when a plumber might be available. I waited a week and a half and as of today I have not received a call giving me any information. I have found a plumber and had the line repaired and knowing that it was the right thing to do I called a cancelled my place in line with your company. I would like to say that if I could think of your company and call Abacus to let them know I had the bust repaired Abacus could have giving me the same respect and called me to give me some information on when a plumber would be able to my house. I have used your company in the past and now with such poor customer service I will now rethink my calling you for any additional service. A simple phone call letting me know where I was in your line would have been very helpful. Here I was in a house with no water and no information on when or if your company was even going to come. In the future I hope your company shows more customer service and lets people know when they might except a person to show up for the repair requested.
