Incredible! A home warranty sent us a different company when our upstairs A/C went out. The tech made a diagnosis that didn't sound right and was going to be HUGE money(especially when I knew it wasn't the true problem). We called Abacus on Thursday afternoon before a holiday weekend. It is Friday morning and the A/C is on and working like a new unit. Many thanks to Abacus! You're truly 'top drawer!'

[UPDATED AT THE END]... I called Abacus to get a quote and repair for a sprinkler backflow replacement (cracked pipe). I was able to schedule the same day - so all good there. Then... it went downhill. The estimate: $1,700. When I had a heart attack and asked for any military discount - they went down to $1,464. I've had the repair done before - at $500-$600. They left - and I called Pearland Plumbing Company. I had 2 options: $500 for them to get the part and replace it - or buy the part myself, and they would charge $250 to install it. I went to HD - paid $110 for the part. Total cost: $360. So - hard pass on Abacus for this job...
[UPDATE]: So I got a response from the "owner" apologizing and asking me to call to discuss. I called the number the "owner" provided - it was their main number. After being placed on hold and transferred 3 times (19 minute call) - they had no clue what the issue was. I gave him the option of reading the Google review and then calling back to discuss. (Remember - I don't have any other issues - they asked me to call.) He told me that estimates are voluntary and if I'm not satisfied with the amount I can always call around to get other quotes that may be "within my wheel house". I told him I knew that - as I'm an adult - and learned that back in Junior High. I told him I didn't have any issues that I was only calling as they asked - maybe they would want to know they are 3X the amount of ALL other plumbers. I then told him I was changing the rating to 1 star - and good luck with his future. SMH.

I called these people because I had a very small leak, when they arrived they said they needed to replace a line and it would be $2100.00, I told them to go ahead and in about 20 minutes they came back and said they ran into a tree trunk under the house, they needed to go around it so they needed to dig a trench for the new line. A short while later 3 guys with shovels showed up and dug a small trench to the water meter, approximately 30 feet, it took less than 15 minutes and my bill went to $6100.00. Only after it was dug did they tell me I could have dug it myself and saved $4k. Never again.

Horrible experience. It took 5 years but my mini spilt unit was finally replaced but not before I had the unit checked many, many, many times. The first year my unit leaked quite a bit, but the leak was not covered under my $99 yearly maintenance agreement. The unit leaking in my house has happened yearly. One tech said I used the unit too much, another tech told me not to set my thermostat below 75 and another tech told me my system needed to be "cleaned" during the yearly maintenance but the service was not covered under the agreement...so on more than one occasion I paid between $300- and $350 to get my system "cleaned" when the unit was not cooling. The tech said there was a leak in the system and the fix was to add Freon. The Freon issue went on for 3 years, the leaking for 4 years (my floor board buckled). Never was anything that was going on with my unit covered by my maintenance agreement. Their answer was it's an old unit.

The new replacement unit I have had since 11/04/21 works okay but the thermostat cannot regulate the temperature. I would not sign off on the installment until I made sure the unit was operational, for the most part it was except the vane (blades) did not open and close when I used the remote control. The installers and tech that have been a bit snarky when I tell them the unit is not working properly. Read a book techies!

Sorry for the ranting. I guess what I am trying to say is don't use Abacus. It is pricey. Upper management never calls back when the calls are escalated.
