Abacus gave me exactly what I needed.
Other companies either didn't offer the service to my water heater in conjunction with installing a whole house water system or had a higher price. Everything was done in appointment. Clean tasting water in one day !

Extremely overpriced. Poor Customer center. Example: kept redirecting me to dispatch service without actually answering anything

I was *supposedly* on the schedule for a window from 8 to 12 today and it is 2:20 and no one has even called. I've been working with a Contractor, so I had him call since the work to be done is regarding *his* project. They told him that they were running late and that it would be more like a 4 to 7 window. That's a very BIG difference! Not to mention, I've been sitting here waiting for them for over six hours! Communication is so important and that is all would have taken for them to avoid a bad review. I have some personal projects that I am working on and, believe me, I will NOT call them to help me. they've already struck out.

My experiences with Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical Services:

* Their services technicians are good. I have no complaints about their work.
* Unfortunately, the sales team that comes in after the technicians is not so good with high pressure sales, scare tactics, and managing to slip in billed services not knowingly agreed to or purchased.

Their sales people are bad enough, kind of like stereotypical used car salesmen, that we will never do business with them again.

Danny Bolls did the diagnostics and fixed my electrical problem absolutely fast. He explained everything so I could understand. He answered all my questions. He has a wealth of electrical knowledge at his fingertips. He is professional and personable. I would give a 10 star rating if that were possible. I highly recommend Danny Bolls for all electrical problems. I recommend Abacus because I was able to get an appointment for my electrical problem in less one day. Thank you Danny Bolls with Abacus Electrical Department

I regret using ABACUS for the replacement of my HVAC system.

We hired ABACUS to replace our HVAC system in March. In April, we started noticing high humidity levels in our home. We've been in our home over 10 years at this point and have never had issues with ventilation and moisture accumulation. In May, we started noticing mold growth in areas of the home where the humidity was the worst. We then had an ABACUS tech come out to see what was causing the high humidity in our home, and he noticed a couple of things. First, a sensor that was no longer used by their techs was causing an error that turned our HVAC off a few times per day. That tech explained that this issue of the HVAC turning off on so often causes humidity build up. Second, the installers replaced the HVAC in my attic but did not install a new duct box. The new HVAC system was smaller than our old one, so the HVAC was blowing air into a larger duct box, that tech explained that this causes a vacuum amd can pull in moist air. The techs came out a 2nd time to make a new duct box that fit the new HVAC. After that, the techs came out and determined that air was not getting out of the ducts and decided a new return air duct was needed so they came out again to cut a hole in my ceiling to make a new return.

I inquired about mold remediation since I believed it was caused by poor ventilation from the poor workmanship completed by the HVAC techs. The HVAC manager agreed but was inconsistent and not good with communication. It took about a month for ABACUS to have a mold remediation company come out and assess the damage. ABACUS finally determined that they are not covering damages caused by poor workmanship.

We could've continued to repair our old HVAC, but because of the history we have with ABACUS (water heater and water softener) we decided to go with paying $19k thinking that we could rely on ABACUS to ensure their techs would perform well.

I'm very disappointed and am trying to ensure everyone thinks twice about choosing ABACUS for HVAC replacement.

Now, I'm looking to find a lawyer to see if that's a better route to take with ABACUS. This has been such a headache.

I had some electrical work done and the job they did was horrible. These people ripped a shelf off my wall and did not replace it. Many mistakes and the lack of respect for my belongings were unbelievable. Jason was my salesman but disappeared when things went wrong. Warning!!!!

I should have relied on Yelp reviews and not Google! The technician didn't arive when he was supposed to in the morning. They called me 10 times while I was in a meeting obviously I couldn't answer the phone. They said in a voicemail I had 10 minutes to call them back. I called after receiving the voicemail 5 minutes later. I was on hold for 35 minutes before anyone answered. When they did the operator said that the tech would call 30 minutes before they arrived. This is a rental property of mine and I have to coordinate with my tenant. Finally late in the afternoon I got a call from the tech demanding payment before he would even go out. WHAT!?! Are you serious you expect me to pay you for services not rendered. I've worked in the HVAC service industry and never have I heard of someone having to make payment prior to them even going to your house. This company has some shady practices. Beware of this!

Here's my experience:

A couple of months ago I called Abacus Electric and was given an appointment a few days away. I was given a four hour window. The day of my appointment I waited until my appointment window had passed. So I called for an update. Somehow, Abacus lost my appointment and did not have it scheduled. After being on hold and given the runaround, they were able to get a technician out since it was their mistake. I was impressed with this so I had them do a home inspection of my electrical system the following day. I bought a 20 thousand dollar upgrade to my electrical system.
A couple of months later, I needed warranty work done. I called and made an appointment. I mentioned that I wanted the same technician to perform the warranty work when I made the appointment (Cody LaRue). I even called him by name during the request. They told me it would be a couple of days before he could make it out. The morning of my appointment, I called the Houston number and spoke to a manager that confirmed my appointment and that my technician that I requested would be there at the appointment time. They said he would be at my residence between 12-4. At 4:30, I called and was told that my technician was in League City on another job and that I needed to reschedule for tomorrow. Keep in mind, I had to call them after the appointment time had passed. No phone call from them. That's twice they've screwed up my appointment's.
I wish I had not spent the money I did with your company because of your customer service and not keeping appointments.
