Recommended Customer Reviews
We originally called AAA Home Services when our dishwasher started leaking. We were very pleased with the service so when our oven started overheating, we called them again. This experience was completely different. I explained in detail to the technician what was happening with the oven. He turned on the oven but immediately stated it was the control board and called to get a price on the board. He quoted us $699.XX to fix and said we might as well buy a new oven. Our oven is a Whirlpool and is only five years old. He then stated that appliances only last five to seven years.
When our oven started overheating, I went on the Whirlpool website to trouble shoot the problem. The website said 66% was the safety thermostat and 24% the sensor. I told the technician this and asked why it was not one of these parts? He insisted it was control board when the oven overheats, and it would be better to buy a new oven. He was done. He charged us 89.00 and left. I did notice on the bill that he quoted a main control and sensor. He did not test anything.
According to Whirlpool, if the control board is bad, it will give you an error code which we did not have. The display and stove worked perfectly.
We ordered a safety thermostat and sensor. The parts were installed and our over works perfect.
Was the technician trying to up charge us? He did not try to sell us an oven or club membership? Your website also still shows a service call is 78.50. I have tried to call every number listed and sent my complaint on line via your request for service. I felt we were taken advantage of. I have tried to call with no response, then wrote a letter March 8 with no response. So now I will warn others. The website still shows a diagnostic fee of $ 78.50.
Ben T.The price quoted on Yelp was not the price they told me on the phone when I followed up for more information. I declined to use their service due to pricing inconsistencies, so I don't have any feedback on workmanship.
The electrician did not provide the receipt of the remote purchased for both the fans. He also took my old remotes. Also the new remotes are of inferior quality than what I earlier had.
We used AAA Home Services to replace our water heater. They were very responsive and professional. Our technician, Dan, did an awesome job communicating and following up with us. We had a rebate through Spire and Dan followed up today to make sure we received our rebate. Overall great customer service and would highly recommend them for other home service needs.
I had great service from Kyle at the O'Fallon location he spent over 20 minutes trying to cross- reference a part and then even made sure it was physically in-stock and in his hand while on the phone. Kyle was very friendly and provided a great experience to end a long search I had for a water heater part. Outstanding service and will take my business there in the future!
C H.Had them come out to replace outside faucet. I had opened up the wall to a 4"" x 4"" opening exposing where the sillcock connected to the existing plumbing. They charged me $80+ to open the drywall to 8"" X12"". They also charged $280 for the part and labor. It took less than an hour to do. The part could be bought at a local big box store for $50. I called the company to get the above detail of the charge. I expressed my frustration during the phone conversation to the charges that I felt were really outrageous. I understand companies need to make money, but this really felt like gouging. The only explanation I got was basically the price is the price. I will not be using them in the future.
Response to Dan.
Dan,
I did know about the $78.50 service call charge. No issue with that. I asked when I called in if they could give me a ball park figure of what it might cost to do the work. I was told that it was not possible until the technician looked the problem over. So, when I called and talked with you you were able to provide detailed information about the call. Standard charge for sillcock, standard charge for cutting drywall. If I had been made aware of that upfront this could have been avoided in the first place. As I said, I priced a replacement 10"" sillcock from Home Depot. $50 was the cost. So why was the charge for installing a part that cost d$50 so much? That is what seems like gouging to me.
very expensive, I am not going to using them. just to hook up washer and dryer $200+.
Anita W.These guys are great. We joined the membership where they pm the HVAC in the fall and spring and you get a discount, half off service calls and 20% off parts and labor. Way cheaper than Jerry Kelly! And nice too. They wear masks are are quick and efficient. They also don't try to blow smoke up your butt and charge more for some obscure thing just to make a buck. We just got our noisy furnace problem fixed for $39!
We called them out for a plumbing issue and they misdiagnosed the problem. They told us there was nothing they could donned that we needed a licensed line layer and that they weren't licensed. We then called O'Fallon sewer who came right out and cleared the line, no licensed line layer needed.
AAA still charged us $78.50 for being wrong and wasting our time.
Satch D.All that needed to be done was use a snake on a toilet. The process took less than 30 seconds yet I was billed over $200.00. This is outrageous. In my previous home in Illinois I had the same job done and the plumber only charged a service call. Today, it took the plumber longer to fill out the receipt than it did to do the job.
