Active in plumbing since 1979. Obtained his Journeyman license in Louisiana in 1985. After moving to Atlanta in 1985, he earned his Georgia Master license by passing the required test. James and his wife Sylvia returned to the New Orleans area in 1987. In 1992, James took the second exam for the Louisiana Master license and successfully passed. He has also participated in hurricane relief plumbing work in Texas. He earned his Pearl River County Mississippi certification in 1993, but it lapsed when job opportunities dried up.
