Active in plumbing since the late 70s. He earned his Journeyman license in Louisiana in 1985. In late 1985, he relocated to Atlanta and successfully passed the exam for his Georgia Master license. James and his wife Sylvia returned to the New Orleans area in 1987. James passed the second Louisiana Master license exam in 1992. James has done plumbing work for hurricane relief efforts in Texas. He earned his Pearl River County Mississippi certification in 1993, but it lapsed when job opportunities dried up.
