James has been in the plumbing industry since the year 1979. He earned his Journeyman license in Louisiana in 1985. In late 1985, he relocated to Atlanta and successfully passed the exam for his Georgia Master license. They relocated back to the New Orleans area in 1987. In 1992, he completed the second test for the Louisiana Master license and earned his certification. He contributed to hurricane relief plumbing projects in Texas. In 1993, he passed the Pearl River County Mississippi exam but allowed it to lapse when work was scarce.
