In the plumbing field since 1979. Obtained his Journeyman license in Louisiana in 1985. He moved to Atlanta in 1985 and acquired his Georgia Master license after passing the exam. James and his wife Sylvia returned to the New Orleans area in 1987. In 1992, James took the second exam for the Louisiana Master license and successfully passed. He contributed to hurricane relief plumbing projects in Texas. He passed the Pearl River County Mississippi test in 1993, but let it lapse due to lack of work in that area.
