In 2017, A1 Bargain Plumbing came to my house on a Sunday to fix a leaky toilet. So, it was a no brainer when I needed help with leaky faucets.

Cindy was professional in helping me schedule an appointment. Due to a major issue with a previous job, Ryan came out late in the day even though he was given the option of rescheduling. He was polite and professional. He donned a mask without hesitation when I explained I was at high risk for COVID-19. Ryan diagnosed the issues which included the need to purchase a replacement kitchen faucet. He offered to go purchase one for me and install it that evening. In the end, we agreed I would purchase the replacement faucet and call to schedule an appointment when I had it in hand. He even deferred the service charge to be paid upon his return visit. That day, Ryan earned a loyal customer.

When I called to scheduleetrytyt the appointment, I spoke with a man who failed to identify himself. I explained the situation. He asked if I had the faucet in my possession. I told him I did. He said he was looking at the schedule and it appeared there were no available appointments for quite some time. I informed him I was in no hurry. He confirmed my name and address and said, ""There are two."" Then, he abruptly told me he had to look something up and would call me back. I thought he might be trying to fit me in sooner rather than later. Being short on time, I asked if he had the schedule in front of him intending to make an appointment further out to alleviate any pressure. The man cut me off mid sentence and harshly restated he would call me back then hung up. A few minutes later, I received a text informing me they, ""were gonna pass on the job."" Confused and disappointed, I called back to request an explanation. The unidentified man told me I was ""pushy."" I attempted to pay the service charge because Ryan had, in fact, diagnosed the problem. The man told me I was coming out ahead. Of course, I didn't share his assessment.

I recommend A1 Bargain Plumbing; however, I strongly suggest you ask for Cindy.

Update: Response to the response posted below.

Dear Sir,

Of course, you have the right to refuse service. On this, we both agree. However, I was neither insulting nor did I question your level of honesty. I was merely attempting to schedule a follow-up appointment. In fact, I was willing to wait until your business slowed down and it would be more convenient for your staff. You, however, were abrupt, rude, and dismissive. You refused my business without providing an adequate explanation. When I inquired directly, you stated, ""We don't have to take your business,"" When I inquired further, you stated, ""You're pushy."" Following this shabby treatment, I still offered to pay the deferred service charge. Your response to my offer was, again, rude and dismissive.

You're correct. We both know what transpired. Unfortunately, the reviews indicate I'm not the only customer who you have treated poorly. Having said that, I still recommend A1 Bargain Plumbing with the caveat you not be involved in the scheduling process.

Respectfully,

Lynne McIntyre

Best company I had help for a same day call. Will save this company's # if I need them for anything with my main house or any of my rentals.

These guys are GREAT. I had to hire them after another company failed to do the job (Waterwork Plumbing, Ferndale--awful dishonest company!!). I live out of town and needed someone to fix a leak in my father's condo. My father is a senior and they were sensitive to his needs. They were able to come the next day and did everything as promised..(called on the way, wore masks, came with all parts). They worked on it a few hours until it was completely resolved and charged a VERY fair price. Highly recommended.

Had to have a gas hose hooked up to my stove. I tried to do it but still smelled gas. He sent me a link to you tube to help me do it myself before scheduling a service call. (trying to save me money!!!) I really wanted a professional to install this as I did not want to worry about gas leaks in my home. He came out the next day, even though he was booked for the day, and installed the gas hose. He took great care to not scratch my floors or stove and explained and showed me what I had done incorrectly. Not only did I get peace of mind, but I also learned about this project from an absolute professional. I will definitely call for any other projects that may come up in the future. Thank you again for your friendliness and professionalism.

Owner is very nice and responds quickly. His two employees that came out were very nice as well with communicating but left a mess when job was finished and forgot to put our drain cap back in. Other than that the pricing is reasonable compared to others. Great customer service and do a good job but would be excellent service if they cleaned up after themselves. But I still appreciate the job. Thanks.

The job was done professionally, even though my upstairs toilet wasn't done. We had a leak after he left and they came back the next day and fixed it. I have to say the work that they did do, was exceptional. I would definitely recommend.

My mom was having drain issues in her basement. After a few other outfits came out and pulled the scare tactic BS and gave high quotes and vague answers, I felt I needed another opinion. I stumbled upon A1 Bargain Plumbing online, Kevin came out, verified the problem, explained everything, and gave us a realistic answer and quote to do the work. I just liked his honest way and easy going additude. It was a moderate job that included busting up a basement floor, they wrapped it up in one day and even mopped and cleaned up when done.

Definitely calling A1 again next time I have a plumbing issue I can't resolve.

After doing a web/Yelp search, I contacted A1 via their web's email link from my California home to learn how to solve minor plumbing code issue at my sister's Dearborn home. Kevin responded within minutes and suggested a call. He learned more about the issue and told me that it's a simple fix that does not require a licensed plumber. He offered--and did--send a photograph of the part that needs to be purchased and can be installed by the homeowner. So, although we haven't used Kevin's firm to complete plumbing work, the fact that he is so responsive, helpful and that he didn't try to get paid for a job the homeowner can complete is quite telling. On that basis, A1 deserves your consideration!

I really appreciate and highly recommend A-1 Plumbing.
On a Sunday, a faucet to my shower broke and we had to turn off the hot water valve to get it to stop. I immediately contacted my regular plumber (NOT A-1), who said he would come out the next day.. Monday came and went. I contacted them again Tuesday and was told someone would be out to fix it Wednesday.. No one called or showed up. And then on Thursday, another no-call no-show.
Finally Friday morning I gave up and after lots of research decided to contact A-1. They happened to have one of their crews available and they were at my house within about an hour.
Within about an hour and a half, everything was fixed and better than ever. The servicemen (Ryan and Jason) were great, very friendly and gave very clear explanations as to what they needed to do and why, a couple different options we had, and also gave me some advice on my older plumbing and explained what will need to be done to get it updated.
I will definitely be calling them from now on for any plumbing issues we have. Thank you guys so much!!
