They should get negative stars..... These people were deliberately trying to gouge as much money as possible. They were being paid by American Home Shield to replace the hot water heater. They came up with over $900 in additional charges. They even lied about some of the Code Requirements and work that had to be done.... The person that answers their phone has the Customer Service personality of a rude angry teenager. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

Can I give zero stars? Is this possible? Today I discovered that the broken handle situation was dripping all night thanks to the plumber not turning the interior mechanism all the way back off after he looked at it. I'm wondering if he was hoping I'd see it, panic, and just pay to have them do the work right away.
Fortunately I have a plumber's wrench to turn the thing, but this is just beyond silly. All he had to do was turn the thing with a wrench; you'd almost have to make this "mistake" on purpose.
He also seemed to slice a piece of the cartridge off by applying pressure, so now the handle mechanism is more damaged than when he found it and he said nothing. This may be the scummiest company I've ever interacted with.

Absolutely horrible. My hot water heater (that THEY installed) was leaking into my kitchen. I called Saturday...on the answering machine they say they will return the call within the hour. NOPE. They never called back. I called them Monday and was told they could have someone out WEDNESDAY. At some time, couldn't even give me a window of time... keep in mind, this is obviously an issue with the installation. Horrible business. Horrible customer service and absolutely no integrity or pride in their work. NEVER AGAIN.

I called AHS my home warranty company on Mon 3/2/15 that I had a stoppage in my kitchen sink and was paired with A+ Value Rooter I received my confirmation from AHS and later that day I got a call to schedule the service =, the earliest would be Wed when I asked a time frame I was told by them, that I needed to call on Tues after 3:30 when the schedules would be completed.
Tues @ 4:15 I called and was told I was the 1st stop but they have a meeting on Wednesday's but the techs should be out by 8:30 and since they were coming from Belton it should be around 9:30-10:00 well no one showed and I waited till 11:00 when I finally called and asked where they were Lisa told me I was misinformed about the arrival time that the tech actually started in Round Rock and would not get to Pflugerville till later in the day.
I informed her that I needed to go to work and she did not offer any help, a call would have been nice but I guess that wouldn't happen from all the negative reviews they have regarding customer service.
I called back AHS and explained to them what happened and asked them to cancel my appointment and that I better not be charged a fee and asked why they have a company like this when the reviews are so bad she did not give an answer.

They were recommended to me by my realtor, but their customer service didn't live up to my expectations. I scheduled them to come and put a treatment through the waste lines because I was told they had a lot of build up. They called a day before the scheduled appointment and said they were out of the chemical and cancelled. I appreciate the cancellation, and they called me back 3 weeks later that the product was back in stock now. During that call I made an appointment for the next Wednesday when I could work from home. By noon that day I hadn't heard from them so I gave them a call to get an ETA. They didn't even have my appointment in their system and the receptionist that took the appointment wasn't working for them anymore so they couldn't check. They assured me an agent would be able to still come out but they never showed. Even after I called them a couple times in the afternoon in which they assured me he would arrive that day, he never showed up. This is a $250 treatment and dealing with this low level of professionalism is not worth the price tag.

Worst plumbing service ever! If I could give them a zero rating I would. Will never accept service from them through American Home Shield again. It all started with the original call to them after 48 hours not hearing from them via AHS. They said their phone lines and their computers were down. Should have known then that they were trouble. Service tech finally arrived, popped the shower drain, asked us for a wire coat hanger to pull clogged hair in the drain, and then he wouldn't treat the clog saying that treatment wasn't covered as long as water was flowing (which I found out later should have been covered). Instead he SOLD us a biological natural drain opener and cleaner that he convincingly said was the best thing out there and that it was not commercially available in stores or online. I found later that the product is easily available and at less than 1/3 what he charged us. Tried to return the unopened product and was told that I could not by 'Mercy' the manager. What an appropriate name... mercy my tush.

Terrible customer service. Take your money elsewhere. The owner, who dropped the ball on my expedited service order, never returned my calls. And the receptionist had the personality of an affected teenager who couldn't be bothered with basic customer service etiquette. I hope American Home Shield rethinks their contract.

I was paired with this company by my home warranty company. The company never called my tenant or me to schedule an appointment. My tenant had to call their office three times, over the course of three days to schedule an appointment. Then, I had to call them to follow through with them going to the appointment. The work order was for a leaking tub and a slow drip faucet. The tub had a crack in the bottom - obviously my concern was that there was a cracked drainage pipe below the tub causing water to sit below the tub, causing wood rot, hence a cracked tub. The plumber that finally came out only diagnosed that the tub was cracked, which was causing the leak. He was unable to repair the slow drip faucet at that time because he needed parts, understandable. Well, the plumber showed up two days later, Friday evening at 6pm with no scheduled appointment, no call ahead to the tenant or myself to fix the slow drip faucet. I think this is very unprofessional, but hey, the faucet got fixed. OK, now the tub. Obviously one cannot make a full diagnosis of leaking pipes or not if the tub is covering up the pipes. But, somehow this plumber had x-ray vision and determined the only cause of the leak was due to the tub crack and closed out the work order. The company never called me with the diagnosis, never called me with a quote to replace the tub, never called me to discuss any follow-up appointments. Well, we the homeowners, took the tub out ourselves over the weekend. The following Monday I asked the company to come back out to inspect the drain lines to ensure there is no leak which would have caused water to sit under the tub causing the crack in the tub. I was assured someone would be there that day - no one showed up. So, I called Tuesday morning to speak with someone about this ongoing issue. I was put in touch with Joe. Joe interrupted me every three words into my sentence and told me "it is a no-brainer the leak is caused by the tub crack, we will not come back out there because we do not work for free, and to call my home warranty company," and hung-up on me. Needles to say, this was beyond unprofessional and just plain rude. I then went ahead and hired my own plumber to come out and look at the bathroom. Low and behold, the drain line was cracked, causing water to leak and sit under the tub, causing wood rot, causing the tub to crack. Pretty amazing what you can find when you actually diagnosis an issue. A+ Value Rooter, hah, more like F-.

Dont use them! They were also sent to us by American Home Shield and they never showed up. First time they said they would come after 5 on a Friday and there was no call no show. Second time they were supposed to come by on Tuesday and they would call me an hour before, but same results as Friday. Terrible service overall!

Update...this is hilarious! D-minus Value Rooter actually contacted AHS and requested a $75 fee via invoice. Extremely poor customer service (can't seem to tell the truth) and questionable business practices. STAY AWAY.
