[Service, Price, Timeliness, Technician] All too often we hear negative comments about a company but in this case from the dispatcher who kept me informed through out the entire process and the Tech who knows his business, and did it well, to being prompt and guided me through the process as well. Thank you so much for crossing paths a very nice exprience.

A-Total Plumbing in connection with American Home Shield warranty did a sham of a job. Nothing was fixed sufficiently other than getting a substance out of my garbage disposal. 3 other things not repaired. Plumber made every excuse in the book not to make the needed repairs and then blamed it on the warranty company. Any other reputable plumber would have been able to fix the fixable issues. Because a screw holding the hot water handle/stem in place was stripped, they told the warranty company that it was from abnormal wear and tear and that they couldn't replace a leaking sprayer hose because of the stripped screw in the hot water cartridge. What a copout. I have the user manual for the faucet and the sprayer hose doesn't require removing the entire faucet. The repair person also said the stem had a broken part, but how could he tell there was a broken part if he wouldn't even remove the screw that was holding it in place?? So instead of just getting me a new sprayer hose, he tells the warranty company that the entire faucet needs replacing but that they are not required to replace anything because of the stripped screw holding the hot water handle in place. This repair person was useless and cost me $75 but basically nothing was repaired. VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME. And now I have to spend more money and call a REPUTABLE plumber to actually do the repair.

I too wish I could give this business a negative rating. This is the second item for which the home warranty people used this company to fix. The first time was lack luster service for an uncovered item. The guy came out last week to fix my toilet that kept running. Well I had to reschedule again because it's still running. I complained to Felicia only after she was unyielding about trying to accommodate a convenient time given the circumstances. She is the owner and gave a snarky apologiy and said """"nobody is perfect except Jesus"""" all while raising her voice about not making any way for me to get an appointment before next week. Yeah ok. the meter is running on my water bill and the only reason I need to reschedule is bc her company failed to fix the problem initially. But as much as plumbers cost it's their expertise to get it right the first time. Why do home warranty companies keep using these jokers? I canceled with this unsympathetic attudinal and unprofessional you know what and hope I can get another company to come out.

Great Company.... Ive used them for3 years thus far per Home Shield. All reps have been amazing. Today Earnest and trainee was wonderful. Quick and efficient.

Horrible, from the receptionist to the techs, to the owner. Long story short, my warranty company sent them out back in November and the tech showed up 7 hours late (7 pm), with no apology other than I did not live on his side of town and he had to cover the shift for another guy after finishing his own. He tells me that he must order some parts and they would follow up in 7-10 business days. After three weeks I called to follow up and was given the complete run around, no one had any idea about any ordered parts. I called back a few more times in the following weeks and the receptionist tells me that I don't have to contact them...they will contact me when the part comes, yet was still obviously unaware of any pending order. Only after calling and asking for a manage does another tech come back out, by then it's January. He tells me he needs to go to Home Depot to pick up parts. He leaves later stating that they needed to order an additional valve. Two weeks pass and I do not hear from them again. I call my warranty company and they put us on 3-way and the receptionist basically lies and said they made several attempts to contact me and I didn't answer or return any calls. We schedule out yet another visit and the tech brings the valve but he can't fix the tub leak. He tells me he need to bust a hole in my wall to repair the leak and they do NOT repair any holes they make. I declined this service and he made me sign the invoice stating that He advised me of the solution to my problem and I declined it. I later called another plumber over that same day because, by now, my drippy faucet was now a full leak. The other plumber ran out to Home Depot and purchased a valve and replaced it in 5 minutes, no hole in wall needed! The warranty company contacted A-1 and Richard the owner contacted me because he wanted to """"make things right and use the example as a learning experience for his crew"""". He offered to refund my service fee and said he put the check in the mail in March. It's now May...and no check, no follow up. Nothing. I've advised my warranty company to NEVER send this crew out to my home ever again.

The warranty company keeps assigning these guys to me. The first encounter with a stopped up toilet and another leaky one. Since I had a third toilet I asked him to inspect it to see if there was anything that needed to be done to it since he was there. He did something to it but did not recommend any replacements for it. Everything was finished to my satisfaction when the tech left. A few weeks later the toilet in the powder room (which I barely use) began leaking. I only noticed it when I noticed the carpet outside of the door being wet. Who knows how long it leaked. Since it was less than 30 days they should have come out with no service charge. They ended up charging me anyway stating that the toilet in the powder room was never serviced (according to the write-up by the tech). Fast forward a year later they were sent by my warranty company to service a garbage disposal. The tech claimed bones were lodged in the disposal and it needed to be replaced. This was not covered by AHS due to it being a foreign object. There were no bones in the disposal, the tech lied. I personally stuck my had in there and there was nothing I could feel that was lodged in there. He just wanted me to pay the $275 to replace it. I called the warranty company and complained. They are sending a new plumbing company out. Let's see if it is the same diagnosis.

I requested and received service from a-total plumbing and it was not good at all. The tech, Roderick , came out and turned on my water and was unable to turn it off and it completly ruined my stairs going to the basement by not wearing boots. He also was unable to turn the water off so the basement carpet is ruined and the water could not be turned back on for 24hrs I therefore had to stay in a hotel the night ($100.00) Also, the county would charge me $45.00 to come back on Sat. to turn it back on and they would not send anyone out to turn it back on the next day. not come back and turn the water back on I am very unhappy with the service and will not use a-total again and will inform my home warranty (sears)

Something was stuck in my garbage disposal and A-Total Plumbing was sent out by my warranty company. The technician said the object could not be removed and that my entire disposal needed to be replaced. After he left I put my hand in the disposal and wiggled the object and it came out and the disposal is working fine, proving that the technician lied and exaggerated the repairs so that I would pay him more than just the $100 copay. He wanted to charge me $385 to replace the disposal. This company has no integrity.

I had an A Total plumber come out to replace my water pressure valve. My real estate agent at the time let the plumber in because I was not in town and after removing the old valve, the plumber discovered that he did not bring the correct valve to replace it with. Five days later, I came out to the house to let the same plumber from A Total in to complete the work with the proper valve. I walked in to discover water damage going through every ceiling of my three story townhome. The plumber told me that the damage must have happened because of a storm earlier in the week and I probably have an issue with my roof. After saying that, he claimed that he had brought the wrong valve AGAIN and that it would be another 4 days until he could get back to fix it. (at this point, I'm just over one week away from the closing date to sell my townhome). I walked over to where the valve work had been done and I saw water actively gushing out of the pipe and onto the floor from where the old valve used to be. The plumber had actually seen this and tried to act like a storm must have caused the damage. The next thing I know, the guy is going down the stairs as quickly as he could to leave the house and get out of there. I chased him down and told him that the still flowing water... still causing more and more damage to my townhome as we spoke... the water clearly was coming from where he worked on the valve and I asked him to stay on the property and work to get the water shut off to prevent more damage. Long story short(er), this guy was COMPLETELY incompetent and taking smoking breaks between attempts to find the outdoor water shut off. He never found the valve.... it took another plumber coming out 4 hours later, taking three digs into the ground and finding it immediately. The entire 5 to 6 hours this was going on, this plumber was lying about everything and his stories about any aspect of what was going on never stayed consistent. In the meantime, the president of A Total was on the phone with me soon after the water was shut off. Richard, the owner, promised me, """"I will take complete responsibility for this and personally make sure that your house is restored completely and that my plumber's negligence will not affect you negatively in any way"""". Richard claimed that he would send me a check for my lost wages for that day, which I still to this date have not received. Also, my house's closing was pushed back one week before it finally closed... this cost me another month's mortgage payment. I cannot count the endless hours I spent on the phone and time lost at work trying to get A Total's insurance to reimburse me for an amount where my home actually COULD be restored. By this point, Richard had completely removed himself from the process. I would call and talk to him on the phone, he would promise he'd work on things and always that the check was just in the mail.... every single thing was proven to be a lie. I do not understand how a """"company"""" like this can get away with such unbelievable and unethical practices in modern America. I will raise this complaint to the better business bureau, but I'm shocked that there haven't been reports already filed and action taken against these people. This gave me about 2 months of feeling like I was in the twilight zone. Unbelievable.... truly.

I had a total out to repair my toilet . Everything was great from the office staff to the plumber they sent .very professional
