I texted him just after hours, and he kindly rearranged things to come over very quickly to help get me back on line. He was also very helpful in explaining fully what the problem was so I can avoid it in the future. I always appreciate a contractor sharing how your house works so you can take better care of things. And to my surprise, he was very fair with the price he charged, since I had gotten another plumber who stated a minimum charge well above A to Z's charge. VERY FAIR.

During the recent Bighorn Fire I was forced to evacuate my home in Oracle. In a feeble attempt to secure the orchard on my property, I left the irrigation running to flood the area. Did you know it's possible to quickly deplete a well by doing that, especially when an unexpectedly-dry monsoon has left the water table dangerously low? I didn't. Long story short, one burned-out pump later, I am now familiar with the finer points of well water maintenance. Tim was able to swap the units within 48 hours, getting me back on track and keeping my plants from dying from lack of water. He even came by and did follow-up checks free of charge. I'd wholeheartedly recommend his services, even to people who are looking to bail out of Oracle and sell their house to some California hermit crab-like invader for triple market price, frequently leaving the rest of us with inflated, county-analyzed property valuations and thus higher taxes, with the added insult of having the area smell like lavender while the descendants of workers who built the town are overrun by yuppies looking for a similacrum of quaint and folksy rural living and splashing any amount of cash necessary to create the illusion of authenticity and belonging in a community that doesn't want them. He also does excavation.

As a one man operation Tim goes above and beyond to help his customers! He is just a phone call away when you are in a pickle. I had some water heater issues a while back and he was on top of it. Had the job done the same day I called him. Definitely an A+ in my book!

hired Tim Ragels to do a routine septic tank inspection and pump out the tank needed to sell my Oracle home. showed up two hours late. called to tell me I needed to have the system excavated. agreed to this. was told I needed thousands of dollars of repair work. I replied that I would get a second opinion and to leave the site open. Tim agreed to this and said he would put caution tape around the site. I paid him almost $600 for this.
When my realtor got to the site it had been completely recovered. texted Tim Ragels the next morning. I was a bit surprised as to his actions as now I would not be able to get that second opinion and would have to pay someone to re excavate the site to do the repair.
A week later when we able to reschedule the inspection and repair, the new person came to check out the situation and mentioned that the septic tank seemed to not be pumped out.
I texted Tim Ragels and he said that it was in fact not done because his truck was ""down"" the day he was scheduled to do it.

two things immediately stand out:
1. why didn't he reschedule the appointment to a time when he could actually accomplish the work requested? he never intended to pump my tank. a week after I had paid him for what I thought was an inspection and emptying of the tank I was still unaware that this second thing had not been done. he never mentioned his failure until I asked. I still had not received the inspection report.

2. did he cover the excavation because of the second opinion? did he, in fact, break the system while he was digging it out? we had absolutely no problems with the septic system up to this time. we were having this work done as part of a routine cleaning and inspection. and wouldn't you think that you'd empty the tank before you'd inspect it?!

Tim Ragels refuses to refund me any or all of the money that I've paid. he refuses also to reopen the site. so I pay twice. of course. plus money to repair what up to then had been a well working system.

from this experience I can only suggest that perhaps Tim Ragels is not an honest business person. beware!
