I find it ridiculous that the business manager decided to comment with a reply now. There was no ""miscommunication"" as we were clearly given a price and then were jerked afterwards with another price. Also you are wrong about our unit not being installed by your company when it absolutely 100 percent was. The previous owners are related to the owner of your company and was told that A freaking Steven's installed it and the fact is you guys did a very lousy job in doing so. We had another company come by and was told everything was installed backwards and there was a unit that doesn't even need to be there. I think it's time you guys go out of business! By the way, how would you know who I am if you did business with my husband and we have different last names?! You obviously DON'T KNOW ME!

I needed my furnace cleaned n in 1/2023 a Tech (Vincent) showed up on time. He was very professional and knowledgeable.
He gave me tips on how to keep my furnace in great condition.
I recently had the big Co here 2 months ago.
There were no complaints but I think we have an obligation to keep these smaller businesses afloat.
He did a wonderful job cleaning up n taught me some things I never knew about my thermostat.

My Boiler stopped working and A Stevens tech came by and replaced a Thermocouple $200
next day, not working again
Tech came by and Cleaned up the unit and burners $450
Next day not working again
called tech no return call
called office told me I need a new Boiler
We had sub zero temps that week
Noboby even attempted to try to get the boiler up and running knowing about the extreme weather
Got a quote on a new boiler from them. Called the office and they contacted the owner. No return call, had to call again. Owner never had the decency to return my call and reassure me that they were going to fix it

BASED ON COMMENTS FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS, THE OWNER IS RUDE AND CURSES. THIS IS PROBABLY WHY THE OFFICE WONT LET ME COMMUNICATE WITH THE OWNER!!!!

Finally, I get a quote but they wouldn't give me an install date until I give them half the money.

All they had to do was call the supplier and ask.""IF YOU RECEIVE A DEPOSIT TODAY, WHEN CAN YOU DELIVER THE UNIT!!!!!!!""
They couldn't even do that.

SINCE I ALREADY SPENT $650 WITH THEM, THEY WOULDN'T EVEN OFFER ME A CURTOSY DISCOUNT!!!!!

This went on for over 1 week.

FInally, I had my boiler installed by someone who values their customers.

I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH A STEVENS AGAIN!!!!!!

Every time I call A. Stevens they are very quick to come and resolve the issue. I've had from Water Heater, Boiler & most recently a Well leak and they are always very responsive. I got my Well leak repaired in a few hours and it was very reasonable. They are all around very knowledgeable.

So I am updating my review. Beware of the way they treat customers. While they do good work there attention to returning customer phone calls is terrible. Then when you question the owner he begins to yell and curse at you. If you're alright with bad customer service then go to A Stevens, otherwise find someone else.

I was routed to this company through my supplemental home insurance company (no fault of theirs) to fix my AC unit. Technician came to repair the unit later than scheduled but things happen. Compressor wasn't the issue and it did not need coolant. It was determined that the fan needed to be replaced. It was too late to pick up that evening since he was late but I was told he would come by the following day, replace the fan and I should leave the check under the door mat. Not only did the technician not show up but no one contacted me to tell me what happened! Called back on Monday and was told that they had no idea why my unit was not fixed and would contact the tech and get back to me. No one ever called. I called back the following day, now I'm told that they had to order the fan!! It's been over a week and now I'm told they have only the motor and the fan blades are missing!! No idea when it will be fixed. No one ever calls back! Customer service is terrible, their overall service is terrible and I will contact my insurance company and lobby to have them removed from the program.

I've used these guys twice in the past 2 months. The first was to install a new water heater to replace a leaking and less efficient older unit with a larger one. I couldn't have been happier with the work, and they made sure everything fit which in my cellar was not an easy task.

The second time was an emergency call with my gas boiler in sub-zero temperatures. Stephen was out in less than an hour, less time than Nebrasky quoted (which was ""whenever we can"") and found everything that was problematic with the unit. A number of people might think that would be ""finding new items to tack onto the bill"", but each one was actually a real issue and he described the symptoms it caused to a tee (yep, we experienced all of them). We avoided a much more expensive repair or a new boiler as a result. His pricing was fair, and his response time out of other plumbers (he was the first to be able to get onsite) on a bitterly cold morning was appreciated. No upselling at all, in fact he told us that our current one was running fine and he wouldn't even try to sell us one with the few problems he could easily fix. Everything is indeed working very well.

I'd recommend him immediately if I needed something done for plumbing and HVAC, and that's after having dealt with Nebrasky a few times and paying their outrageous prices. In fact, he corrected some defects in the boiler that would make it easier to maintain in the future, and showed me how to do so if there was a problem (what service person do you hear explain that those days?). Very trustworthy, didn't gouge on pricing, and considering I've skipped maintenance over my heater's lifespan, I was overdue. Very happy with him, I'll be calling again if there's a problem or when it eventually comes time to replace something else.

One of the workers of the company (who is now no longer working for the company) did a side job (my furnace) and labeled that he worked for A. Stevens Plumbing and Heating. When I told the owner of the company what had happened he immediately took care of the issue, came out personally and fixed the mess the other guy did in my house. He was prompt, professional, explained everything in detail, showed me what was done and gave me a receipt. I will absolutely use him in the future.

Overpriced. They wanted almost $500 to remove a toilet and snake down the drain and put the toilet back, and their person was warning that there might be a problem with the toilet flange, which would be an additional $500 repair fee if it was a problem.
A competitor charged just under $250 with tax to deal with the issue and arrived within a few hours of my call.

We used them once, they charged a very high price but did the work needed and had come out quickly so when we needed help cleaning out our boiler we called them again. They came out, cleaned the boiler and charged us 350.00 to do so. The whole time the tech was cleaning out the boiler he kept telling us we needed a new one, and wanted to charge us 6000.00 for it even though our boiler was operating fine after he cleaned it. This year same problem, boiler needed to be thoroughly cleaned out. We called A Stevens who sent the same technician out, he asked if we were ready to buy a new boiler, when we said no we just needed ours cleaned so it would operate (it was about 8 degrees outside) he said he could not do anything for us and left without even trying, leaving us with no heat in the dead of winter. My husband finally went down three days later when he was home and cleaned it out, boiler works just fine. This place is a ripoff whose only goal is to sell new products. I can not recommend this company to anyone, they are not interested in repairing anything, just want to sell new items just like the so called good reviewer who had to buy a new water heater, probably did not need to.
