(ZERO STARS is more accurate) A+ Plumbing: A Case Study in Incompetence, Dishonesty, and Utterly Unprofessional Business Practices
If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid A+ Plumbing at all costs. This company embodies everything that is wrong with service providers--incompetent technicians, blatant dishonesty, a complete lack of professionalism, and an owner who refuses to take accountability for his company's repeated failures.
My experience with A+ Plumbing, which was assigned to me through Choice Home Warranty (another nightmare of a company), was nothing short of deceptive, negligent, and borderline fraudulent.
Unqualified Technicians and a Grossly Inaccurate Diagnosis
A+ Plumbing sent a so-called ""technician"" to inspect my pool issue. It became apparent almost immediately that he had no idea what he was doing. His lack of expertise was evident through pure observation, and he misdiagnosed the issue, insisting that I needed a $630 water pump replacement.
Fortunately, I was skeptical of his diagnosis and requested a second opinion from Choice Home Warranty. They refused. (Which is not surprising, considering they will protect their vendors at any cost, no matter how incompetent they may be.)
A Direct Appeal to the Owner - A Bait-and-Switch
Since the home warranty company failed me, I called the owner of A+ Plumbing, Sal, directly. I explained that his technician was clearly inexperienced, and Sal agreed to either come out himself or send a more qualified technician for a second opinion. He scheduled a follow-up appointment, assured me that he would personally handle it, and then... disappeared.
* He never showed up.
* He ignored my messages.
* When I finally got in touch, he flat-out lied and claimed I ""must have been confused"" about the appointment.
This is not just unprofessional--it is deliberate avoidance and dishonesty.
Verifiable Proof of Incompetence and an Attempted Scam
Realizing that Sal had no intention of correcting the situation, I called another company for a second opinion.
Within 15 minutes, the new technician diagnosed the real issue--just a simple power problem caused by a tripped breaker.
That's right: A+ Plumbing attempted to charge me $630 for an unnecessary repair. If I had trusted their so-called ""expertise,"" I would have wasted hundreds of dollars fixing something that wasn't even broken.
A Business Lacking Integrity and Accountability
Following this discovery, I called Sal again to inform him of his technician's gross misdiagnosis and demand a refund of the $80 service fee I had paid for their incompetence. Sal refused to respond.
Not only did he ignore my valid complaint, but he failed to acknowledge the seriousness of his technician's error and made no effort to rectify the situation.
A Repeated Pattern of Negligence and Deception
What makes this situation even worse is that Sal openly admitted to me that his technicians frequently make mistakes. In fact, he told me a story about how his technicians used to overcharge customers due to a card reader issue--sometimes charging $8,000 instead of $80.
If this doesn't scream irresponsibility and poor business ethics, I don't know what does.
Additionally, Sal admitted that his technicians routinely make misdiagnoses, which is why he had originally agreed to send someone else for a second opinion. Yet, when presented with undeniable proof of their failure, he refused to take responsibility.
A+ Plumbing's Pool Services Are a Complete Scam
Through this ordeal, it became clear that A+ Plumbing is not a legitimate pool service company. They are a plumbing business trying to make extra money on the side by offering pool services they are neither qualified for nor capable of performing.
Their so-called ""technicians"" lack basic pool equipment knowledge, fail to diagnose simple electrical issues, and recklessly prescribe costly, unnecessary repairs.
Final Warning: DO NOT HIRE A+ PLUMBING
* They are dishonest, unreliable, and lack any sense of professionalism.
* They send out unqualified technicians who misdiagnose issues, leading to unnecessary and expensive repairs.
* The owner refuses to stand behind his company's work, ignores complaints, and refuses refunds--even when his company is clearly at fault.
* If your home warranty assigns A+ Plumbing for pool service, request another provider immediately.
I do not leave reviews often, but this level of incompetence and dishonesty was too egregious to ignore. A+ Plumbing appears to be profiting off misdiagnosed pool services, scamming customers out of money they should never have to spend, and refusing to take responsibility for their errors.
Avoid this company at all costs. They do not deserve your business, your trust, or your hard-earned money.

Raw sewage backing up into the showers/tub. He came out and tried to snake the back cleanout outside. He didn't even attempt to snake the showers or tub or toilets. He tried to say there were roots clogging it first. I asked where? There was nothing on the snake and no water, no roots and there are no plants or trees anywhere near my house in the back. He showed me a clean snake. So now he knew that I knew he was lying. So he left with the sewage still in the tub and showers. Then they said there is no front drain clean out. So the insurance company denies it, and they got paid $365 for doing nothing. The owner Sal said he would fix it for $1100 if they deny it. He said he would text me in the morning to see if it was denied or accepted. When they didn't contact me by the afternoon, I just hired Roto Rooter. 4 hours and it was fixed. $700, done! Roto Rooter stated that what he had done would have not even cleared anything except the front bathroom.
There is a front drain cleanout... the tech swiped his foot right over it brushing the plant leaves aside. The drain was 1 inch below that and he didn't even get a shovel out. This company just writes a report stating something that is not covered (no front drain cleanout) to have it denied, gets paid by the Insurance company and then charges you. After I told Sal that his man just didn't want to do the work, he called me. It was at least 5:30 at night at this point. He started getting upset with me and said this is his livelihood. He said he would have fixed it for $200 because it was 2 days before Christmas. I then reminded him that he told me 1100. His reporting to the insurance company is fraudulent and he gets paid. While you are left without being able to use the showers or toilets etc. I lost 2 days of work and income because of them.
His business is a scam, he works for the insurance company not you.

Zero stars is what I would rate Sal. Zero professionalism , zero accountability, zero honesty and zero communication. Home warranty companies should take this place off of the list. Calls are not returned in a timely manner. When a client takes time off of work to be home - that should be considered. Charged $75 service call fee. Follow up and communication was horrible! Avoid frustration and bad customer service- do not use this place.

If I could give 0 stars I would, A plus plumbing should be renamed F Minus plumbing for how they run their business. Was assigned this plumber by my home warranty company on January 1st as my shower was leaking, as quick as the next day A plus plumbing showed up to inspect and see what parts he needed. They charged us a $75 service fee at that time. That's about the only good thing that happened.
He proceeded to tell my wife the work order request was incorrect and he needed different or more parts and that he needed to resubmit the claim. It's been over 17 days and my shower valve is still leaking. Both my wife and I have been reaching out trying to schedule and set up appointments so they can come and complete the repair. They did manage to show up one time but as they do NOT communicate clearly my wife and I were both working. No heads up given until they are parked in front. Multiple attempts to reschedule have been attempted and they simple do not respond or seem to care.
They took my $75 and never came back. Then had the nerve to say they don't want to leave us hanging or not finish a job they didn't start. If this guy has any integrity he should give a refund and stop taking service calls if you can't handle it.

If I could give A Plus Plumbing zero stars, I would. My experience with this company was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. They were assigned by my home warranty, and the process was a complete disaster from start to finish.
First, they scheduled an appointment last Thursday, made me wait for hours without any updates, and only after multiple calls (where I was repeatedly told ""20 minutes away"" for hours) did they finally reschedule. Their plumber arrived on Friday morning, inspected the issue--a ceiling sewer leak--and assured me he'd submit the report immediately. Yet, the report wasn't submitted until Tuesday morning, despite my constant follow-ups with both them and the warranty company.
The home warranty later stated that cabinets needed to be moved, even though the drywall provided clear access to the ceiling leak. When I contacted A Plus Plumbing, they told me they'd come today to address the issue through the drywall. I left work for their 12 PM appointment, only to wait for hours again. Eventually, they told me to contact the home warranty for drywall approval, which was an outright deflection because the real issue was that A Plus Plumbing refused to handle drywall access--despite initially acting like they would.
This company wasted my time, caused unnecessary delays, and cost me hours of work due to their complete lack of professionalism, communication, and honesty. If you're assigned A Plus Plumbing by your home warranty, do yourself a favor and request a different company immediately. This experience was a total nightmare!

The absolute worst plumber in the business. Do not use this plumber!
He tried to pull every sketchy trick in the booK!

Stay Away!! From my experience, not a very honest person and extremely expensive.
Had a simple pool pump replacement and it turned into a nightmare with Sal refusing to do the job because I wanted an itemization of his charges.
Told my home warranty company I refused to pay for what he called the Modifications, therefore refusing to do the job. A job he said would take 2 hours; disconnecting (3) PVC pipes: (2) to be cut, (1) a screw-off plus disconnecting and reconnecting electrical. TWO HOURS @$225. /HR!!
Further, he calls cutting existing pipes and disconnecting electrical a Modification when it was a simple uninstall and reinstall of an existing pump costing me an out-of-pocket cost of $550.00 which he initially stated would be $646.00.
Actually, lied to my home warranty company and said I refused to pay the charges for what he called Modifications. Probably lucky he's not doing the work!
Wish I could include a picture in my review to show the simplicity of the job.
Wouldn't use this guy if he was the last guy standing!!

Do NOT call this company! They will rip you off, they came out to fix a leak capped it off and it only lasted a day, called him back out he said it was something else wanting to charge us more money! The owner was arguing with me on the phone saying he makes millions and I see why because they're scammers!! Horrible service!

Do Not use Sal the plumber !! He came out and fixed most of the Job but he kept telling my husband he was going to come back and put our shower handles in at no extra charge since it was the wrong ones and never came back! It's been 2 weeks and my husband fixed the last part himself. Just sucks when you trust someone's word and they don't come through!!

Being a family owned business Sal makes sure customer service is his priority. His service is excellent. He's reliable was on time, gave us a great estimate and completed the work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Sal to do any plumbing work in my home or yours.
