After making six calls and receiving three responses, I chose to use A+ ?Drain and Sewer service to repair my pipes that burst in the freeze this past winter. Paul came the very next day to give me an? estimate, while the others took three or four days to respond. The estimate was comparable to one other, and $50 less than the third. Paul communicated with me about his arrival time, offered some creative solutions to my problem and completed the? job within a few hours. He explained every step ?of the process to me as he worked.? He didn't upcharge me for anything, or try to talk me into something I didn't need. In the end,? my plumbing system is better than ever?. Thank you, Paul. If I ever need a plumber I know who I will call first.
Ian H.Unfortunately it's rare with many companies today that they do exactly what they say they're going to do. Paul is one of the rare exceptions; he turned up on time and only left once the job had been finished (It was about 10:30pm at night (was raining and they'd been digging all day)). Paul has a very strong work ethic, explains clearly what he's going to do and gets on and does the job.
We had a backed up sewer caused by a broken sewer line; Paul was able to carefully navigate a crab apple tree and three bushes and replace the broken pipes (without damaging the garden). He was also prompt with his communication and really kept us in the loop as the work progressed.
Not only is he a really nice guy he also does great work and stands by it. A+++.
Leslie M.Paul was absolutely terrific! He found the source of a leak under my tub that no other plumber had been able to locate. His plumbing knowledge was plain to see and I was not surprised to hear that he had over 30 years of experience in the business. He was also one of the most courteous and friendly tradesman I have had in my home - and asked me repeatedly if he could wear his boots inside. And of course, the price could not be beat! He charged a fraction of what the other plumber did. Give Paul a call - you will be glad you did!
Rebecca F.I had sewer water backing up into my bath tub. I first called Roto Rooter. They told me that i would need to replace my entire sewer line. My neighbor tod me to call Paul. Paul was able to come out the same day. My sewer line had tree roots blocking it in 2 places. Paul was able to cut through the tree roots and get my sewer line cleared. I wasted $400 on Roto Rooter. Don't waste your money on Roto Rooter. Call Paul.
Amy G.Water from one place in the house was backing up into other places in the house. It was a bad situation.
I made a next-day appointment with Paul, who came and snaked out the drain. In addition to being a super nice and affable guy, he fixed my problem quickly, cleaned the sludge that came out of the drain off the floor, and answered a number of questions I had about the plumbing in my house.
Paul told me on the phone in advance what the (very reasonable) price would likely be, and that's exactly what it was.
A+ all around.
Ryan O.Paul is a great guy, I had a non emergency issue, and he was able to set up a next day fix that worked around my tough schedule. Professional and even took off his boots to walk through my house to the basement. It is the little things that show you are working with a true professional. Reasonably priced for the short notice and the work area was probably cleaner when he left than when he arrived. A+ Drain and Sewer Service is truly A+!
I'd been waiting days for other local plumbers to call me back about my clogged kitchen drain. I called Paul from A+ at 11 am. He called me back at 11:05 am and was at my house by 4pm to complete the drain cleaning. Paul was super nice, explained exactly what he was doing and gave me some advice on things we could do to reduce the clog problems in the future. He worked with a power snake in my basement carefully and neatly. There wasn't a drop of water or nasty guck to clean up afterward. I can tell that he is different from other plumbers in the area. He wants your business, values you as a customer, and gives you a fair, timely service at a decent price. For one hour at my home to snake a drain from an upper level cleanout in the basement past the clog near the floor, the total charge including the call was $95. I have found my plumber when our needs go beyond the scope of DIY.
Paul was great!--fast, friendly, and very reasonably priced. He fixed our problem quickly and even took some extra time to advise about another more minor problem. Highly recommended for any plumbing in the Ann Arbor area.
Jason K.Called Paul after a bad experience with another local plumber, STS, who had failed to correctly diagnose why my basement drain was backing up, despite coming out to snake it twice. (A fact I realized when my basement got flooded with sewage a month after they'd been out to ""fix"" the problem.)
Upon walking into the basement, Paul immediately recognized that they hadn't even been looking in the right place. He found the problem literally in minutes (clogged backflow valve), properly diagnosed the cause, and was able to provide a solution.
He was also extremely responsive, pleasant, and explained exactly what was going on the entire time. And his prices were better than anybody else I've found. Honestly, he's just a stand-up guy to work with.
Best example: The first time he came out, he said we needed to find the backflow valve for the clogged drain to snake it properly (again, something the first plumber hadn't even mentioned). I didn't know where the valve was, and it was going to take me a while to move stuff around my basement to find it. Paul said he didn't want to charge me to stand around while I looked, so he'd just leave and come back when I found it. His charge for that first service call to my house: nothing. He just asked that I call him back to take care of the job when I was ready.
We have found our new plumber for anything else we need. I can't recommend Paul highly enough.
Sarah R.A+ Drain and Sewer is just one guy, Paul, who does great work for reasonable prices.
A couple of years ago, we had a serious drip from the bathroom into the basement every time I took a bath, and we were quoted some really outrageous sums by other plumbing contractors to get the township to shut off the water to the house and have the plumbers come in and do the work. They also wanted us to take off an entire day from work because they didn't know exactly when the township would be out to do the shut off.
Paul must know people, because he did the work for less than half of what we were quoted by other companies, and the folks from the township showed up within a half hour of the time he gave us for when he thought they'd be at our house. He did fantastic work for us that has stood the test of time.
We liked his work well enough that when we got our Economic Stimulus tax rebate checks earlier this month, we called him to have him come out and do some other plumbing work on our house.
A+ Drain and Sewer is based out of the tiny town of Willis but services most surrounding communities, including Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor.
