This is an email I sent to A Plumbing Hero on Thursday after their visit to my 102 year old Grandmothers house to repair a leaking tub drain on the second story....

""I called to question the $950 we were charged today. When I called on Monday I explained what needed to be done, my husband had already diagnosed it. I told Mayalee (not sure on spelling) that my husband was going to be there to take the two areas of the wall apart to open the area for the PLUMBER, I asked for a set appointment-not a range, because he knew how long it would take him to prep the area, he has been in construction for 28 years. I was never told by her that for this type of repair it would be a flat fee. When the TWO PLUMBERS (it was not a 2 person job, so a customer should not have to pay for 2 plumbers) showed up my husband was not told that it was a flat fee whether he did the work or not. The two plumbers were there for a little over an hour, the parts they used were maybe $150 max and you charged $950... When my husband sent me a copy of the check with his comments on your fees I was shocked.

I called to inquire and talked again to Mayalee who told me you charge a flat fee for that service whether or not my husband did all the prep work prior and put back together after. I was told Notalia was in a meeting and would call me back in an hour. It has now been over an hour and a half and no one has returned my call. If your company doesn't not have to do ALL the work, you should not charge the full amount of a ""flat fee job"". I should have looked on line prior, as there were reviews that stated you were overpriced and one stated you charged almost $300 for less than a 30 minute house call.

I have put a stop payment on my check, saying I was disputing the charge, since Mayalee could not address my concern over the charge and could just state that it was a flat fee and that's the way ""you charge customers"". And since I did not receive the phone call from the ""Manager/Owner"" to address my concerns. I want to speak to someone regarding this issue before a payment is made, authorized, etc. because this is wrong and like highway robbery, that is over $200 per hour, per plumber!!! Not even acceptable. If that is the way you are going to charge people, you ought to be upfront and explain that.

Please call me at ---- to discuss this issue and negotiate an appropriate T&M charge for this service call.
Thank you,
Salli-Anne""

I spoke with the ""owner/manager"" Notalia on Friday, she continued to state these were flat fees charged this type of job whether or not the owner does the removal and replacement of the sheetrock and created the accessibility. A Plumbing Hero was called out to my 102 year old grandmothers house that I take care of for her! She said she would speak to her field manager and get back to me on Monday, it is now Wednesday and I still have not received a call, she has not been in the office when I called. Last Wednesday, I paid less in labor ($850) to have my well water pump extended down an additional 40 ft into the well and a new well pump put on my own home, and the well company was at my home for over 4 hours with 2 guys. That is $106.25 per hour per technician. Another Plumbing company in the town where I live is $97.00 plus materials.
Those are reasonable and fair labor rates.

I have no complaints with the gentleman that showed up to do the actual work, my husband said he/they were thorough and professional. My problem is with the amount that they are trying to charge and the Flat Fees that are totally unreasonable to all customers not just me and my grandmother. I will be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau also.

Rudy came in at the end of the appointment window. he was prompt and very professional and offered to wear booties on his boots to protect our floors. Much appreciated!

Our kitchen sink was clogged and Rudy quickly unclogged it, resealed the back-out, and left the area spotless. It took 20 minutes to rotor the line and that was it. (Tip: clear out the entire sink area and leave it clean and completely empty to make the job go seamlessly.)

Really great service - much appreciated Rudy!

This should be between 4 and 5 stars. Our two sinks in the kitchen decided to be difficult on a Sunday after a small gathering. Not blaming it on the small gather, I'm sure the problem had been building for quite some time. I mentioned it because of the urgency that was needed to get the place back to normal. The way it looked, was I was about to get a bucket of hot water and start washing dishes in the bathtub or outside. I Made a phone to these folks at about 9:00am on a Sunday morning. Lady answered, was very nice and said she could have a guy come by between 1-3pm today, sooner if he was able to finish up on another house sooner then expected.

11:15 rolls around and she calls back says he's available now. Can he come by? Yes of course. I was out running errands but will be there shortly. My partner was there and she could handle the situation.

So not that's it's a complaint as much as a surprise. My partner tells me he walks in, without even looking at the sinks he blurts out that'll be $279.00. She's thinking, ""how the hell does he know that it's 279 without even looking at the sinks? She says ok, he rolls in his snake and snakes one of the sinks. He's not there for more the 30 minutes and everything is fixed.

Now I know I shouldn't even care, he came in did his job correctly and left. I started doing the math and this guy is doing better then a lot of lawyers. 500.00 + per hour. I told my son who's looking at trade school to look into plumbing. I should just shut the F up and give him 5 stars.

A Plumbing Hero will always be my ""go to"" plumbing service. Every time I've called them they've provided superior service with great advice. Rudy and Victor are especially helpful. Both repaired my plumbing issues quickly and were pleasant to talk to (with humor), which was much appreciated.

Can't say enough good things about this company. Service is quick, efficient and on time. Covid-19 protection and shoe covers when inside. Rudy is a pleasure to have work on our plumbing issues, installing a new garbage disposal and a new toilet. We will continue to use A Plumbing Hero for our plumbing.

A Plumbing Hero was definitely our Hero this evening. 6pm on a Sunday we discovered a broken shower faucet that would not shut off. I called at least 10 local plumbers that claimed to be 24hrs but the best they could do was Monday morning. A Plumbing Hero answered their phone right away and confirmed they could have someone out in 2 hours.

Our hero Rudy promptly arrived wearing a face mask and shoe covers and was very professional . He diagnosed the issue right away and explained the parts that needed replacing. He quoted the price and got right to work. He was polite and knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions I had about the faucet.

I highly recommend A Plumbing Hero. They're the first one I'll call next time I need a plumber.

I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. I called at 9 and Rudy showed up at 11. He did an excellent job at a reasonable price and was completely professional through the entire process.

I just had a geat experience with Rudy. He came and quickly diagnosed and fixed my sewer lateral blockage. He was transparent about pricing upfront, and did a very well done and fast job. He ensured that the blockage was removed and double checked his work. These guys are seriously plumbing heros. I will call back for more services from them if needed.
