God bless Lance!! He came out and helped my daughter with her broken AC. He was overly thorough (which is rare these days) and made sure she understood everything he was doing and I definitely recommend these guys for anyone in Placer County. So grateful for your kindness and professionalism. Doing things ""right"" is obviously their goal for customers. We will definitely be using them for our rentals and our homes from now on. 10 Stars!!!

I could write for quite a long time about how great A&P did on our air conditioner install. We bought a 40 year old house that had original HVAC, knowing it would need to be replaced. We talked to 6 different companies from the big names you hear on radio to a guy that does it under the table. We talked package unit options, and mini splits. Once we had all the options in hand and weighed the costs and benefits trying to compare apples to apples across all the contractors, we decided to use A&P.

They weren't the cheapest but for what we got they were the best value. We went with a Fujitsu mini-split for our 1500sqft house. Biggest reason being the sear number. To get a unit with a high enough sear to qualify for SMUD's rebate you had to go with a very expensive package unit. Instead we went with an entry level mini split. Todd did a great job giving us numbers and options on units.

Once we decided to pull the trigger they were super quick! I think within 72 hours they were replacing our unit. They also replaced all the nasty old ductwork. Our house is super comfortable all the time. Not like too hot, system kicks on then it's super cold, the mini splits are variable speed so they run as much or as little as they need.

AND ITS SO QUIET! Our old package unit was very loud, this split is super quiet. We went with the ducted indoor model so you wouldn't even know anything was different from a package unit. One of the things that nearly kept me away from mini-splits was the ugly wall unit. Not anymore!

Highly recommend Todd and his team. They did a great job, we're professional, clean and quick. Todd also recommended other things I could do to make my house more efficient including air sealing the attic. He even offered to help!

We have had some small adjustment issues since the install and Todd has been super helpful and responsive in getting them fixed. Thanks A&P!

Our AC unit went out during a heatwave (of course) and was making horrible noises. It needed a couple parts, and one wouldn't come for up to 10 days, but the repair person was able to get the unit working until all parts arrived. He also looked at creative ways to save us money. These things aren't cheap, so every bit helped. He also gave us some great tips on keeping it running well...

Where do I begin? A&P was our go to company for any and all our HVAC needs over the past decade. A&P was the sole company that serviced our unit. We shouted their company's name from the roof tops and referred many friends and neighbors but now WE RUN FROM THEM, even contacting all the people we referred and informed them of A&P's new underhanded unethical business practices.

Recently A&P's tech Lance (who they state has 35+ years' experience in HVAC) evaluated our system due to the heat was intermittent, sometimes it would kick on and others it would not. A&P determined the unit needed to be replaced at a cost of $5,800 or they could perform repairs which they WOULD NOT RECOMMEND at a cost of $1,700. Thinking this was odd, we had a competitor (Brower Mechanical) come out to inspect the unit without previously mentioning A&P's evaluation. Can you guess the outcome? It was determined that the $70 thermostat was malfunctioning and not always sending a signal to the furnace. Total for the trip, evaluation, thermostat and install from Brower Mechanical was $220. Its been 2 weeks and the unit runs perfectly without fail.

With A&P's quote in hand outlining all the repairs needed to the unit I went over it in detail with Brower Mechanical's tech. He stated that everything outlined in A&P's quote was false, completely fabricated except that the blower motor was starting to show signs of wear which he added is total normal. He reinforced that nothing within the unit requires replacing at this time and the unit has many more years of life in it. The most damming fact is that even if we had paid A&P $5,800 for a new unit it would still have not functioned until they finally tested and replaced the thermostat.

RUN, RUN, RUN away from A&P, they're dishonest frauds looking to take your money.

My propane furnace would not stay on during the coldest part of the day. A&P installed my high end system 8 years and I could not be happier with it. So Lance came over yesterday and thoroughly worked over the system and found a malfunctioning part that he replaced. All good until the same problem recurred this morning when it was 35 outside! Lance came out today and, thinking outside the box, he found that the low pressure propane regulator was not functioning properly and was too cold during the predawn hours so that not enough propane getting to the furnace. Problem solved.

This has been a very disappointing service. I purchased a 1-year service with this company at a discounted price ,they were advertising on the radio station I listen too. I called in and made an appointment and payed for the 1-year service for two visits one in the winter for my heater and one in the summer for my air conditioning. My house is two and a half years old. The first visit he checked my heating system, but inform me with all the technical jargon that my unit would be breaking down because I didn't have the right parts for it. By the time I had the quote it was over $2,500 to make it right I had to pass. The gentleman today came to my house very nice and respectable, nothing like the first one trying to upsell me but still I felt like it was not a complete service. I don't know what he did 2 my air conditioning unit, but when I went to check on him in the backyard where my unit is, he was spraying down my air conditioning with water, he told me he was cleaning the filter. Using my hose without even asking I think is common courtesy to ask,Not only did he use it but never put it back in its place and left out on the ground. He informed me that my unit could use a part that would extend life of my unit. I did ask how much it would cost and he told me it was $450. I don't think a two-year-old unit needs something to extend its life , it's still under warranty, and I don't think from my experience I don't need anything to extend the life of my unit. Even checking my filters he didn't even open the box to look in there or anyting he just looked up from floor ,and told me they were fine. Before he left he was charging me for the service, he was never inform that I had a prepaid service. Before I use this company I would have to rethink about using them

I highly recommend! We needed a new thermostat and they were so helpful and went out of their way to get it to us right away. It was far better than we were expecting and I love that we can control from our phones! They have helped out with other heating and cooling needs throughout the last few years. I feel they are honest and I trust them in our home!

Excellent service, and friendly ""sincere engineers."" I got quotes from other hvac companies, and they all gave me a funny feeling. But A&P has been rock solid. I particularly like the text and email reminders and invoices... They seem higher tech than other services I've used in the past. A&P hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Our house's unit was running inefficiently and it was costing us a ton of extra money a month to run our heat- we had no idea all we needed was different filters that properly fit! A&P came and measured our grates and gave us the correct filters within 24 hours. Their service tech was personable and was also able to give us further recommendations on how we can make our system even more efficient to save money! Will definitely be calling them with any other HVAC needs in the future!

There's probably a reason A&P doesn't have any ratings on Yelp... And the reason why is they are absolutely terrible. We had them come out and install a new Trane system several years ago. The initial sales call was excellent. Todd, the owner, was informative and personable, and we felt good about our decision to use them. That's where the ""excellence"" ended. The techs did a sloppy job and the install was fraught with problems. There was notice of correction after notice of correction from the city inspectors. SMUD came out and was shocked by the quality (or lack thereof) of workmanship. After over a year of repeat visits to try and complete the job, it was only after filing a complaint with the Contractor's State Licensing Board that the job was completed and the permit finaled.

Now, four years later, the blower motor on the Trane system goes kaput. We realize this isn't A&P's fault, so we figured we'd give them another shot and let them come out and do the warranty work. Alas, it appears that they're still as sleazy as they were the first time. They told us that the blower motor needed to be replaced and that it was covered under warranty. However, they also told us it would cost $1,000 in labor to replace said motor. Doing the math, assuming they charge $100 an hour, it's going to take them 10 hours to replace a motor?

Now feeling suspicious, I called two other shops in town that deal with Trane units to get an idea if this pricing was fair. I spoke with the owner and one place, and he laughed when I told him how much A&P wanted to charge. He told me that the repair shouldn't take more than a couple of hours, and that he would charge us ~$400 bucks to send two guys out to do it. I spoke with the general manager at the second shop, and he seemed genuinely upset that A&P was trying to charge us so much for the work. He said something to the effect of ""that's what gives people in our business a bad name."" Frankly, I couldn't agree more.
