I am very happy with A-1. Motor on my AC went out in this horrible heat wave. A-1 was probably the 10th company I called. They were the only ones who came out the same day I called. 23 hours later my AC was up and running with a new motor. Dan was my technician. He was an excellent representative for A-1.

Just used A1 at my house in studio city. Now I sent the same service tech Mike to service my office I. Sherman oaks. Again service was excellent. MIKE located the problem on my roof top unit. Blown capacitor he had the part on the truck. Replaced it and unit fired right up. MIKE also brought to my attention. That I need to service all my roof top units at least once per year. He perform the maintenance service and I could already feel the unit working better and cooling faster. Wow how do you say perfect service. Used this company twice now and both times I am super impressed on how process in am they are. Also getting the job done right th e first time

Hands down the best service contractor we have ever had work at our house. We 1st called in and spoke with Dave. He was so nice and took care of setting our appointment, Robert was the plumber that was sent out , he was ontime as promised and was really polite. Gave us excellent service on repairing our water heater rather than trying to sell us a new one. He was honest and fair. Cost was up front and work was completed to perfection would use again and would highly recommend A-1 plumbing

Today I had Gabriel come out for a second opinion on my central heater and he saved me $7,800. The company I had come out a week ago told me that the motor on my heater was broken and that I'd need to replace both the heating and ac. Gabriel came out today and not only got my heat back up and running in 10 minutes but told me that it was shutting off because the door had been put back on improperly and that was causing it to stop working. He was honest, clearly knew what he was talking about, and relieved me of a financial nightmare. It's rare to find people so honest!!!

I needed a plumber to come out and diagnose my water heater since it takes forever for my shower to heat up. I called A-1 based on a recommendation from a friend. Robert comes out the next day does a full inspection and determines that my water heater has built up sediment from its age that it wasn't working properly. He recommended I do a complete flush instead of buying a new one. Heck $99 dollars sure beats a thousand any day. He gets the flush done in an hour and my water heater works like new!! I really appreciated the professionalism and courtesy that Robert exhibited to not try and up sell me to the more expensive route. I'd recommend A-1 and Robert to anybody looking for honest quality plumbing.

Read through this if you're considering booking anything with these folks.

1) Last week, I had some plumbing issues, so I looked around on Yelp for the highest-rated plumber in my area of West LA / Beverly Hills. Yelp pointed me towards ""Number One Air Conditioning,Heating & Plumbing.""


2) I picked ""Number One Air Conditioning,Heating & Plumbing"" because of its positive reviews, most of which mentioned ""Jerry"" as a very good / attentive plumber.


3) I called the number listed on Yelp, (877) 691-7854, and a man picked up. He answered with ""Belmont Plumbing?"" We agreed on a time, etc.


4) The man who eventually showed up (Robert) instantly said ""it's roots in the main line,"" and pointed to a tree in the front of my house. He said it would be $1,200 to water jet the line. I pointed out that the main lines in my neighborhood run to the alleyways behind the houses, so it couldn't be roots from the tree out front. Oops.

I'll reiterate here: the ""A-1"" plumber who came to my house tried to sell me a $1,200 service because he thought my sewer line *came out of the wrong side of my house.*

And it gets better. The price for jetting dropped instantly to $500 when I said I didn't want do that. 60% off, instantly! Classic.

After I talked him out of the water jetting, we agreed on $150 to roto-root. Boy, oh boy, should I have been more careful about what we agreed on.

After he rooted one pipe and that side of the house was draining / back to normal, he told me that it would be $150 to roto-root the other clean out!

At that price, it would cost me $600 to roto-root all four clean-outs of my house. That's not what we agreed on, and it's insane -- it would have been cheaper to water jet the entire house's plumbing!

Needless to say, I said no. They wound up leaving with $150, and my kitchen, washing machine, and one of two bathrooms were unusable due to a clog on that side of the house. It should have been a simple roto-rooter job.


5) After they left, I sat down, confused. Why or how could a business, or someone like ""Jerry,"" mentioned in all of the Yelp reviews, get such good reviews? It didn't make sense.

So, I scrutinized the Yelp reviews. They all seemed to be from real people. But...they ~all lived in Denver, Colorado. That doesn't make sense. A plumbing business in Los Angeles has...23 happy customers, all of them in Denver?

Long story short, I was able to figure out that the Yelp page was actually hijacked from a husband and wife plumbing team in Denver Colorado, whose business is ""Belmont Plumbing."" Someone had made a fake Weebly website and changed the address and phone number on their Yelp page to reach the 1-866 number and a business here in Los Angeles. All of their reviews, dating back to 2009, were now re-located to Los Angeles, and tied to a new address and phone number. The business name on Yelp had also been updated, in the past ~month. I spoke with the folks in Denver and Yelp at length and they were able to recover their page & reviews as of late last week.

And...

The invoice I received from the plumber who came to my house reads ""A-1 Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning"" at the top. The CA contractor license number on the invoice is 949837. The address listed for that contractor matches this business.

I'm going to phrase this carefully:

Someone hijacked at least one Yelp page with 5-star reviews from a mom-and-pop plumbing business in Colorado, named Belmont Plumbing, and re-located the page (and all of their positive reviews) to Los Angeles. I needed a plumber and called the phone number in that Yelp listing. The person who answered the phone answered with ""Belmont Plumbing?"" and the plumber who answered my call gave me an invoice with a contractor license number that matched the address and business featured on this very Yelp page.

I did receive a refund from whoever was on the other end of the 1-866 number. But it wasn't Belmont Plumbing, of Denver Colorado. They texted me after the fact, from an 818 number.

Those are all indisputable facts.

I have my invoice, screenshots, and PDFs of all of this saved and have shared it with the real owners of Belmont Plumbing so that they can file a complaint with the CA Contractors State License Board.

Shower decided it no longer wanted to turn off. Called and described my shower mixer, and Shawn arrived within an hour to fix it! Day before mothers day and it already being late afternoon made this all the better as I was dreading going though the rest of the weekend without water!

I had my house fumigated for termites which required the gas to be shut off. After the Gas Co. came back to turn on the gas, it was discovered that I had a leak (leaks) on my property. I had a ""highly recommended"" plumber come out, spend time with the tech from the Gas Co., and prove that he was a bumbling idiot. I called A-1 late the next day and Dave immediately picked up the phone. He had a tech named Leo at my house the very next morning. Leo performed his testing, discovered a leak, fixed it and tested again. He discovered a second leak (ugh), fixed that, and tested again. He also made some small configuration changes to my gas lines which will help me with any future issues. After final testing, Leo certified that everything was good. About 30 minutes after Leo left, the Gas Co. tech showed up, did his thing, and turned my gas back on for good. YAY A-1! These guys are professional, efficient, and most important, knowledgeable. I will be using A-1 for all my future plumping needs. Without hesitation, I highly recommend A-1. All five stars were well earned. A-1 turned a very frustrating situation around and really made my day / week.

Hands down the best plumbing company that I know of. These people gave me a great price for a repair on a PVC pipe the needed to be fixed and were super honest with me. The plumber was Robert, super nice, honest, and hardworking. I highly recommend this company for any of your plumbing needs.
