I really appreciate that the folks at AO Reed had commonsense knowledge about the plumbing needs of a simple but well-designed shower. Thank you, Stan!

the guys in the Retail side can't be beat when you are seeking specialty plumbing parts or professional grade products. They let me email in a photo of my outdated fixtures, then called and told me how to remove the parts so I could come in for replacements. They had the right part, walked me through installation and even loaned me the tools you need for installing.

Its been many years since I received such excellent service. I searched many shops in San Diego before I found this gem. I am unexperienced in plumbing and A.O. Reed had all the parts I needed for complicated task of fixing a leak in the bathroom of my vintage apartment. The staff was patient in listening to my problems and helped me solve all issues that came up. I highly recommend this shop for all your plumbing needs because every staff member I encountered is very knowledgable, friendly and professional. I will always come back to A.O. Reed when I need the best advice and service. Forever greatful! Thank you :)

I use A.O. Reed all the time and they are very helpful and I am a Plumber. I can understand some people complaining but at least they try. Home Depot and other Big Box stores carry lower quality parts that are made by the manufacturers just for them. And good luck getting any knowledgeable help from their staff also.

Can't say enough about how Tammy took extra time to make sure we found the parts we needed and then made sure they would be delivered to us promptly. No hesitation in recommending A.O. Reed for your plumbing needs

After making the mistake of going to Home Depot and Lowe's for a part a friend said I needed for a plumbing job, I went to A.O. Reed after my friend recommended the store. The part was in stock and it was a genuine factory part. Unlike Home Depot and Lowe's, a salesperson greeted me as soon as I walked in, found the part I needed right away and explained a way to make the part last longer. When I didn't quite understand the instructions because I don't know much about plumbing, the sales guy was very nice about repeating the information for me and in a slightly different way so that the instructions ""sank in"", so to speak. I am never going to any other store for plumbing needs again. The price was good and the service was amazing! It's like the Nordstrom of plumbing stores, but without high Nordtstrom prices.

Dave is the worst to deal with, NO manners, NON customer oriented. Don't understand why they keep him there. They all have trouble answering a simple question. OVERPRICED , rude, Go elsewhere if possible, Doubt they will be around another 100 years with this attitude.

Sales people were very helpful when we were picking out new shower valves. They have most parts in stock, and can order anything they don't have in a day or two. The price we paid was a few bucks cheaper than anything I could find online. I had a problem with the install, and they helped me out and got me a part I needed (after I broke something).
The stuff they carry is better quality than what you will find on display at big box and home improvement stores (at an extra cost, of course).

What a breath of fresh air. Service, information and quality products. I have been going to A.O. Reed for years. Tami is the best! She has always been very helpful and informative.
Careful when you price compare! I found what I thought was an identical product for less at a Big Box hardware store. Turns out it was cheaper for a reason. Products may have the same name but be of different quality. Big box stores sell the cheap consumer grade plumbing products which cannot compare to the commercial grade products you will always find at A.O. Reed.
Whether you do it yourself or hire someone what is your time worth or the labor cost when you install an inferior product.

Would not recommend this place. If they been in this business since 1918 why there is no team work - salesman works for Commision only and most important there is no manager skill. All they said ""Sorry""!!!!!!!!!!!!! I
PERSONALLY stop by the store - ordered and paid for the shower pan. Also told that salesman 2 times - ""My handy man will come to pick up this shower pan for me and gave him my handy man phone no"". A. O. Reed & Co salesman told me - ""No problem at all and shower pan will be here tomorrow from their warehouse for sure and someone will call your handyman once shower pan arrive to the store and he can come to pick it up. Next day, My handy man Did NOT receive any phone call from A. O Reed & Co for pick up this shower pan.(yesterday).
This morning I stop by A. O. Reed & Co to pick up this shower pan after I called the A. O. Reed & Co salesman around 8:20am and found out that shower pan was in the store yesterday and I asked the my salesman - ""Why no one call my handyman yesterday"", he told me ""I am off yesterday, I did put sign to call you once shower pan in the store and NO ONE call you and the sign still on theA. O. Reed & Co board now"" I asked my salesman - "" Do you guys work for Commision"" ? He told me "" Yes"". The main reason was "" IF your salesman off, and no one will call you.""
Went to talk to the manager for my concern - all he said "" Sorry"",,,,
Without shower pan - my home improvement project have to postpone till next week. My handyman is not only work on 1 project on hand.
A. O Reed & Co my salesman told me their store is the only one have the best quality stuff in San Diego since 1918. if compare other stores - I do believe, you pay what you got, but not customer service was really really BAD
Once again A. O. Reed & Co service style is NOT the best one. Please keep up the speed, we are 21 century now.
