As the leading mechanical contracting company in the country, A.O. Reed & Co. is built on a foundation of integrity, excellence, and customer satisfaction. With a legacy spanning over a hundred years in construction, A.O. Reed excels in creating and servicing notable projects in Southern California. By delivering economical budgets and superior service, we have built trust with our esteemed clients, ensuring we meet aggressive timelines.

The journey began in 1914 when brothers Albert O. and Harry Reed launched a small plumbing operation. Harry's sons, Jim and Don Reed, took charge of the firm in 1955. In 1982, Ed Andrade, the son-in-law, became President and served until 1994. Following him, his son Steve became the CEO & Chairman of A.O. Reed & Co., with David Clarkin serving as President since 2015. From the outset, A.O. Reed has ensured that our expertise is passed down through generations. Our leadership team and skilled tradespeople show their unwavering commitment to the lasting future of A.O. Reed.

A.O. REED is as good as it gets ! I'm just an ordinary home owner. I have 2 Kohler toilets that needed new parts. Kohler had them on a 21 day backorder. When I called AO REED's retail store, Tammy found them in stock. What's even more important and earns AO REED a 6th star is: when I asked Tammy to sell me an extra set to put on the shelf for the future, she advised me against that. She said putting rubber parts on the shelf wasn't a good idea even tho' she would lose commission. THAT'S INTEGRITY and that's the 6th star ! Looks like Tammy is a winner. Look at the other reviews.

I didn't catch the name of the person I talked to but he was very rude. I'm sure it was the same person as Josh and Carl. I was calling to ask if they carry a Kohler drain and Price Pfister rough in valve. Also, wanted to know the price. He responded by asking me why I am calling and whether I'm just trying to shop around. I told him I needed these items and several places did not carry them so instead of driving around, I wanted to call first. He then said he doesn't carry Price Pfister cause they are cheap and he wouldn't want to carry that in the store anyway. Also, he told me to not shop online for these items as I need to be able to talk to someone. If I encounter more people like him, I'd rather shop online. He was no help at all.

I want to say how much help I received from Dave at AO Reed. He has helped me with all of my plumbing need for 15 years. I have redone bathrooms, kitchens at four different locations including Spokane Washington. I could not have done it without his help.

I own a track home here in San Diego. The low quality kitchen faucet that was used died in just five short years. I never really liked the piece it was ugly and felt cheap.

I knew I wanted a higher quality faucet and I wanted to get a designer style that would look nice. I shopped around quite a bit and saw more of what I did not want then what i was looking for. I stumbled on AO Reed's retail store.

I can in and spoke with Tammy she was very helpful and explained all the different models they had in stock. I could not make a decision so I went home and showed a couple of designs to my wife. I texted Tammy at 8:30 pm on a Friday night what we wanted and she had it ready by 9:30 AM on Saturday. Just try that at Home Depot....

I would highly recommend purchasing your plumbing products and supplies from AO Reed's retail store. They have everything in stock. You do not have to call because if they do not have it ....no one does.

I have been to A.O. Reed several times and it's a wonderful outfit with great people just waiting to help you out! My most recent visit was to try to find a product called Sizzle which a plumber recommended to remove the scaling from one of our toilets. Stan, at A.O. Reed, gave me a tutorial on why not to use Sizzle and walked be through how a toilet works and how to remove the scaling using pool cleaning muriatic acid instead of Sizzle (much safer). Since A.O. Reed doesn't stock Sizzle or muriatic acid, Stan send me off to Home Depot where I found what I needed and it did the trick! I will definitely think A.O. Reed first when it comes to my plumbing needs. They are five star in my book. Doug Hoffman

very mixed reviews on here but wanted to give this place a try since close to my work. I am not a plumber by any means, however I have some experience and called to get a rough-in valve made by Delta. The regular rough in valve for all shower installs is a model R10000...they use the same valve for everything. There are also two different diverter valves and i needed a model R11000....the guy I called at the store does not go by Delta numbers...What??? I told him this is a 3 or 6 port diverter and he says can you bring it in with you? NO !!! I am doing a remodel idiot. He then proceded to tell me 5 mins of Delta history on all their different types of valves. i told him I could show him a picture of it and he said he could order it...guess what, so can I why would I bother with you. I am trying to support the local guy but not into this bullshit game playing. Places like this can fall off the earth for all I care. His effort to help me was like me saying well I do not go by Ford or GMC models only my system but bring it in and i can try to match it.

Update: So I drive to the store thinking it could just be the guy i got on the phone right? I walk in and show him a picture of the valve I need and ask if he has on ein stock. he looks at it and says "" Nope, no way. Won't touch it"". So I say ""Won't touch it?"", and he tell sme it is junk and does not last. Really?? All Delta valves are cast brass and have a lifetime warranty. These guys are very partial to what they want to seel and very opinionated. Unfortunately todays customer requires you to give your opinion and give me what I want.

I suppose A O Reed has enough of a commercial following that they don't really need to cater to the general public. I recently went there to acquire a generic part for what they consider to be an inferior product (code for something they don't sell) and I was met with a very rude, condescending, insulting, scruffy little man that seemed more interested in letting me know his contempt for the product I decided to buy and insulting me in the process than helping me with the problem I came in to solve. The tall gentleman with the long face has been friendly and helpful on previous visits but the little old mean guy with the beard is someone to steer clear of. This guy betrays the reputation of an otherwise well known company.

The people at A.O. Reed are EXCELLENT! I have been going to them for years. They know everything about Plumbing. I do not know what I would do without Tim Peverly or Tammi. They have helped me with figuring out why my faucets leak to ordering the correct size sinks for my bathroom. They are Very Friendly and very, very knowledgeable. It is so nice to stil have a shop like A.O. Reed to go to without having to be stuck going to places like Lowes or HomeDepot. I absolutely love A.O. Reed. They have saved me so much $$ because they know more than some plumbers do!

I've been purchasing my plumbing supplies at A.O. Reed since 1991 and they've always been friendly, professional, and reasonable! The Manager of the retail store (Stan) bent over backwards to help me with a problem I had, removing a stuck cartridge from my shower valve. He easily saved me over $100 in plumbing costs, and he and all of the staff there all really know their stuff! Note that A.O. Reed is both a Retail Store that can get anything from a washer for your sink to the entire sink (plus toilets, fixtures, parts, etc from all of the major plumbing lines).

They're also Commercial plumbers, and since I live in a Condominium, I've had the opportunity to experience their plumbers as well, since A.O. Reed replaced the boiler in our Condominium complex last year. They came in with a fair bid, and the work was performed smoothly and on time. I'd have to say, if you need any plumbing parts/fixtures/supplies, or if you manage any commercial or office buildings, you need look no further, this is the place to call!

If you need plumbing supplies, fixtures or anything else plumbing AO Reed is the place to go. Because AO Reed seems ""industrial"" I keep being drawn to the other retail stores - BIG MISTAKE. AO Reed has excellent customer service, Tim and Dave have been so helpful, and they have access to everything you could need for a bathroom or kitchen remodel. Save yourself time, money and frustration and head to AO Reed for everything plumbing.
