They replaced a valve that would have cost $48.00 on Amazon and charged me $1100 for less than an hours work. He was very professional and thorough but the company is outrageously expensive.

Extremely overcharged for washer and dryer valve, total was $1200.
I had a leak that destroyed my house, Mary Beth was great and they were there in a timely manner, for what they charged me, I felt taken advantage of due to the situation. What was I gonna do? My ceilings were falling down and they were the only people who came. I appreciate that but... The first person they sent didn't turn on the main, discovered this after he left, I found it and turned it on myself, then a waterfall poured out of the hot valve which only exacerbated the already dire situation. Charged me almost $300 for what essentially nothing, he didnt even change out the hose, gave me my faulty hose back and said there should be no problem with me figuring it out myself. They sent another guy back who was awesome, but charged me close to $800 for a half hour job to change the washer and dryer valves. Ummmm....doesn't add up.

A. Johnson was fine fine 3 years ago when I started using them but last week - on a Saturday, no less - my 20+ year old furnace stopped working again. It seems the last 6-8 years the thermocouple would burn out or it would need another part.
This time, I was told the thermocouple burned out (again) but also the gas valve needed to be replaced. This diagnostic cost me over $328. My discount? $20.39 as a ""VIP member"". Being a ""member"", I thought there would be more savings. And that's not to fix it, that's just to figure out the problem.
To actually fix it would cost over $1392.00! Part of that quote included an unnecessary universal surge protector. I had even told him that's unnecessary because I have a whole house surge suppressor installed on the breaker box. I had never been billed that high before. I told him it was time to replace the entire boiler.
The tech provided two quotes for furnaces; one standard Lennox floor model with 90% efficiency and a Navien wall mount combination water heater and boiler rated at 95% efficiency. Compared to other quotes, both were overpriced.
Beware - tax was added to both furnace quotes even though a new furnace is considered a capital improvement and is not taxed.
Fortunately, I found a local furnace installer who provided a higher grade Navien wall mount combination boiler and water heater. That dealer's quote was almost $4,000 less. They also removed the old furnace and water heater and cleaned up after themselves, all in a day.
I'll soon be writing up a yelp review of this other company.
Find another company. Very disappointed in them.

I needed to have two (2) threaded outdoor faucets to be replaced - the job would have taken no more than 30 minutes.

The quote he gave me was $330 plus the service call fee of 69.00 - a total of nearly $400 for a 30 minute job.

A total rip- off -- I told him that I did not want him to do the work.

I then was able to un- thread the valve from the stem, changed the washer and now both faucets are working properly and not leaking.

This took me a total of 20 minutes for the repair - I really do not know how this company received a rating of AAA with the Better Business Bureau

I would suggest you find another plumber

Oh my goodness I don't even know where to start. A Johnson plumbing and heating was a life saver!! We had them come out a couple weeks back after another company bailed on us twice to take a look at our HVAC system. A Johnson sent someone the same day to take a look at our system. Sean was the tech and he found our unit needed to be replaced. Yesterday was our appointment to install the new unit. Sean was here from 8am until 530pm working his butt off. Not only did he do everything he needed to do, but he even cleaned up the sloppy work from the prior work that was done by the previous homeowners. He also educated us on maintaining our system and preventing future issues from occurring. Besides that, Sean went above and beyond when a freak occurrence even happened of bees coming out of our garage ceiling by the furnace! Sean got stung a couple of times and he still stuck around for the bees to clear out so he could complete the job. Anyone else would have been outta here! He knew we needed working AC as we have a baby, and he got the job done. We are so beyond grateful we found this company and absolutely applaud them for having such quality employees. I can't say enough nice things about Sean. I highly recommend this company for all of your needs. We will definitely be using them going forward for any plumbing heating and HVAC needs!

I did not do this review and it is apparently set up as a draft in order that other people will not be able to write their reviews.

Charged $236 to change a $20 part. Plus another $225 for a Friday night call. Total bill was $498 for a $20 part. Recommended a new toilet and that would have upped the bill to $1000. Highly recommend going with someone else.

Their knowledge of things including plumbing is very small. They use the little knowledge they do have to make money off of people who truly believe they being helped. It's just me and my mom and my little sister in the house and it's the first time she's over owned one so I've been here every step of the way. We had multiple issues but it's ok it's expected with houses. So we searched and searched for a good reliable company and thought A. Johnson would be it. Theres only 1 other bad review so we didn't think much...only to be sucked dry of THOUSANDS of dollars and have the same simple plumbing problem occur AGAIN and AGAIN every other month. Please save your money. Plumbing/heating is no joke. Although people may come across as knowledgeable (they said all of this knowing we knew very little anything plumbing) and sell themselves as they know what their doing; they don't. It breaks my heart that my hard working mom is a single mom of two that her first experience of owning home is just learning that their are more scammers out there than people who really just want to help you live/feel comfortable in your home. Please take my recommendation. I honestly 1000% would not sit here and write and post this if I didn't think it was necessary. Disappointed and disgusted is the least I can say.

I contacted A Johnson plumbing & heating on 5/2/2019 due to my tankless water heater continuously tripping. The lady I spoke with when I called was great & scheduled me for first thing the next morning. Mike showed up & right off the bat told me A) it was $69.99 for him walking through my door & B) he in not so many words is pretty clueless about tankless water heaters which made me a little skeptical from the get go... he was very nice & talked me through everything he did. When he left my hot water was working again but that came to a quick end when my husband got home from work a 12hr day & ended up with a cold shower. I called the after hours line & requested to speak to the company's owner as I was understandably frustrated for pay a couple hundred dollars to not have gotten anywhere... Mr Johnson seemed very customerable & apologetic & promised me that on Monday (I called Friday night) that he'd be to my house Monday with Mike to figure out what was going on.. Monday afternoon I received a call to let me know the earliest I'd be able to have Mike & Tony up my house was Wednesday afternoon (of course I had to accept this what else could I do?).. Wednesday rolls around & I get a call from Mike that he's on his way to my house & Tony wouldn't be joining him. He gets to my house & is in my basement for another 3.5 hours & tells me the company that makes my water heater says he needs to order a whole control unit & he thinks he should be able to just get a few wires..that he was going to do some research & talk to some people & hed call me back the next day with a verdict & resolution.. it's been 5 days & I still haven't heard anything & im STILL stuck with very short time spanned hot water! Awful customer service!!

In February, my boiler stopped working. I called A. Johnson to come and diagnose the problem. I knew that the boiler was older and most likely needed replacing. I was prepared for that. I have a pretty good knowledge of how much boilers cost and had done some research, as well. The office staff was more than pleasant and the technician was right on time. BUT, being married for years to a fix it guy, I know that you don't come to diagnose a boiler without tools. All he had was his ipad. All he did was take pictures of my boiler. He didn't even have flashlight to look under the boiler. I offered one, but he said no. Before you know it.. he had his presentation ready.. $13,000.00 for a new boiler!! for a 1500 sq. ft house!! He told me that if I didn't do this or that, my home was unsafe. I didn't buy it. I told him I knew better. But,I stupidly paid the service call fee and called the company to voice my displeasure. I soon had a return call from the owner and he apologized. He told me he would be refunding my service call fee. Well.. they cashed the check and have not received a dime back from them!! The company I hired put in my boiler, for under $6,500.00 and found out that the additional items I needed to ""make my home safe"" were standard with any boiler and included in the price. I wish I could give them a minus 5, but, I'll give the lady who scheduled the appointment 1 star. Stay away!!
