Steer Clear! Very Rude, Unprofessional, Incompetent, and at the end even Insulting! Starting with the Receptionist, and ending with the Owner himself! I opted for a cash out from the Warranty Company, and finding my own plumber, a much better option than using this horrible company. The receptionist has a very bad attitude, and I thought that I had things finally sorted out, but when I tried to confirm the replacement recirculating pump on the new hot water heater would have a timer like the original, because the two guys that come out told me that they were going to use one that had three speeds and ran 24/7, the owner got on the phone and told me that he wasn't sure he wanted to do the job, and proceeded to insult me. I should have yelped them before I even dealt with them, it would have saved me allot of aggravation! Very Poor Customer Service, and very suspicious inconsistent information! Stay Away!

Another sub-par experience with a home warranty contractor... These guys arrived about 1 hour AFTER the time window they gave me, to handle a clog in the sewer line. They snaked out the line from a clean-out in the garage and said that the clog was beyond the reach of their snake. They went to the front yard and looked for a clean-out for maybe 2-3 minutes and said that we didn't have one, so one would need to be installed before the line could be cleared. They quoted $450 for the clean-out install.

After they left, I called a few other plumbers, at least 2 of which told me that there was no way that I don't have a clean-out in the front yard. Kevin of Diablo Rooter agreed to come out, after hours, and take a look. After probing the ground with a metal rod (something that AJ Bono DID NOT do) for about 10 minutes, Kevin located the clean-out. He snaked out the line and total charge was only about double my co-pay to AJ Bono (saving me hundreds of dollars - not having to install another clean-out due to AJ Bono's lack of effort in finding it).

Call these guys if you want water damage! Had this company out to our home in Walnut Creek to replace the water heater. Our appointment window was 2-5. Of course they showed up at 4:59. It took them almost 2 hours to install the water heater. 45 minutes after they left, I went into the garage and saw water all over. The new water heater was not installed correctly and was spraying water all over the wall behind it, and possibly inside it. It was now after hours, and this company has no emergency number, so we left a message and shut off the water main. The next morning, they had not called us back, so we called them. The snotty, stupid, and incompetent dispatcher had not checked the messages from the night before and had already dispatched the plumbers elsewhere. The soonest she could get someone back out would be 3-5! Totally unacceptable, considering we turned the water off at 7 pm the night before. To make matters worse, they have given us the run around regarding the repair of the water damaged wall, claiming they aren't responsible.

Fidelity home warranty sent me a service person from this company, who supposed to fix the minor problem in kitchen faucet. The person broke the whole faucent into pieces, and says I am trying to help you!!! Was he helping me without service fee??? He's charging me for the fix. On top of it, he says, because you said the faucet can move, I am trying to move it, and it broke. And he accuses, I was lying that the faucet could move. These people are rude and unprofessional. Allowing them into your house means giving LICENSE to DESTROY the things in your home!!! I suggest you to stay away from these rude people.

I, too, was referred to AJ Bono via my homeowner's warranty. I scheduled the appointment between 2-4pm. At 4:15, I called the company and the extremely rude receptionist, Haley, refused to admit she wrote down the wrong time (4-6). I was told, ""They'll be right there."" The plumbers finally showed up at 6:40, told me my 20 year old water heater ""was fine"", and I needed a new gas control valve. Despite coming to repair/ replace the water heater, he did NOT have the necessary parts. He also tried to convince me that my 51 gallon water heater was only 30 gallons (and I could expect to NEVER take a bath). I was told I would get a call the following morning to reschedule their return to actually do something. It was 5:10pm the following day when they finally called, much too late to schedule an appointment or to have hot water for the holidays! I told my homeowner's warranty company how unprofessional they were and requested a new service provider!!!

Please never call these guys. They are rude - especially receptionists and don't take any responsibility. Water heater they hooked up stopped working because if obvious hook up issues, not the heater itself. They never attempt to be a customer oriented. Avoid

AJ Bono was sent to repair a water heater by American Home Shield (shame on them) They initially came out and said the problem was fixed.
I called AJ Bono on November 23 and was spoken to VERY rudely by Haley (if that is her name) who I think was chewing gum while she was telling me how busy they were, how she had customers holding on other phone lines, how they would try to ""fit us in"" and so forth. This was all delivered to me in a rambling ongoing sentence of disrespect and contempt.
I also contacted AHS and let them know that several of their customers have had horrible experiences with AJ Bono.
Please take your hard earned money and valuable time to ANOTHER COMPANY!

NO Stars, do not use this company, unprofessional and a waste of time. They scheduled appointment then show up on a different date, then they report to the insurance you refused service. They replaced the parts with oversized parts that don't work properly, then have attitude when you question their quality of work! Good for dummies if you don't have common sense. Don't use this company!

Like most people here, I called the company because I had a home warranty. Our water heater broke and they replaced it with a new one. Though we didn't get a call before they showed up (as we were promised) they did show up in the window expected.

The 5 stars is because they were professional and patient. The home warranty company wanted to give us a water heater similar to what we previously had but we wanted to upgrade to a more energy efficient one. I was unable to get the home warranty people to tell me how to do that but this company was able to work with me and get it upgraded by just letting me pay the difference in cost of the better water heater.

They were great about explaining what was happening and answering any questions I had. Also, they were professional and left the area nice and clean. I didn't read yelp reviews before calling them, as I wasn't given another option from the home warranty place, but I was shocked at the horrible reviews. I had a great experience and I'd definitely call them back again for future work!

DIAL another NUMBER quick! if you have home warranty tell them you REFUSE the service from this company!

From the technician coming out unprofessional smelling like an ash tray (and not on time - you might as well have an appointment from 6am - 10 pm .... and maybe they will arrive on the day they say they will) to the office staff chomping gum over the phone trying to tell you what is wrong and how it will get fixed quickly to the managers just saying ""sorry, i will have to talk to the person doing the work"" and ""yes my staff should not have yelled at you"" - worst company to trust your house to. you might spend more with a bigger company but every penny is worth it!

OVER ALL WORST company to call!
