Recommended Customer Reviews

I went through my home warranty to fix my garbage disposal and they sent Ramon from AJ Bono Plumbing. I was very impressed with not only their customer service (which seems to be lacking everywhere these days) but also how professional Ramon was. Basically everything I look for when I work with a company was surpassed by AJ Bono Plumbing. Ramon was right on time, efficient, pleasant, courteous and extremely helpful. I am very pleased that my home warranty chose this company because I couldn't be more please with the outcome and overall experience.

I received service from A.J. Bono Plumbing through America Home Shield. I had a serious leak in the Kitchen and Bathroom that warranted immediate attention. The Field Technician, Julio Reyes was not only courteous, effective and efficient, but also went out of his way to ensure complete satisfaction of his client.

I had Ramon from AJ Bono to install the new water heater. He took his time and answer all the plumbing related questions with details. I would have given him five stars if he had not been late on the day of appointment. He was professional and courteous otherwise. I recommend Ramon for any plumbing related needs.

AJ Bono Plumbing has been out to my property twice to perform two different jobs and I must say that I am highly pleased with the service I was provided with.
We were first put in contact with AJ Bono thru our Home Warranty to address an issue with a leaking water heater. Ramon came over to our place, arrived right on time and got to work. It turned out that the water heater was done and needed to be replaced. Ramon got on it right away; went to get the water heater and returned a while later to install it. During his absence, he was courteous enough to call and provide updates on his whereabouts and arrival time. We were very pleased with the end result. Ramon took the time to explain to me how the water heater worked and what to do in the event of.
I mentioned to Ramon that a previous plumber had stated that we had roots in our sewer pipe and this was causing a slow drain they had come out to address. Ramon offered to come and inspect the sewer pipe with a camera. After a visit, he informed me that the pipe (which was installed in the 50's) was totally invaded by roots, totally separated at the joints, and even shifted about by the roots. Although this was not good news for us given that the average cost of a sewer pipe replacement is anywhere between $3000 to $10,000 (from my online research), Ramon provided us with an estimate of $5500; which according to my research, is a rather reasonable price. However, $5500 is quite a lot of cash for the average folk to put out - I just keep reminding myself that the upgrade to the pipe, brings up the value of my home. :) (BTW, if you or anyone you know is buying an older home, I suggest getting a sewer pipe inspection, specially if your home was built in the 50's. The type of material being used then has shown to be easily penetrated by roots and to collapse... right about now. LOL. I wish my Realtor had advised of this inspection, specially for the age of our home. Now we are $5500 poorer! Work with a Realtor you know and trust!!)
After the pipe inspection, Ramon took the initiative of rooting our pipe to temporarily fix the slow-drain problem (which by now was starting to back-up into the house) while he got all the permits and utility marking squared away. Within a few days, he had arranged for his team to come out and start working on the pipe and in less than 8 hrs, there was no sign of any work having been done and the trench-less pipe replacement was completed. (Not that a 7' deep hole had to be dugout in the middle of the street to access the City's main pipe).
Over all, I am very pleased with the serviced we have received from Ramon at AJ Bono plumbing. He is truly an asset to the company. He is courteous and very professional, and I feel that i can trust him to give me an honest estimate and deliver fast and competitive service.
The previous reviews for AJ Bono almost made me go to another company. I am glad that i did not and that I stuck with Ramon. Ask for him next time you have any plumbing issues. He'll deliver.

Jose and Ramon were great! Both were very knowledgeable and explained things in a very clear way. They really took their time with the project that needed to be addressed. My main sewer line was broke and needed to be replaced. It's very difficult to find a plumber that you can trust but I fully trusted them. As a QA Engineer I know quality work when I see it.
These guys are good!

We have had nothing but problems with this company, do not use them! Multiple times out to install our tankless water heater properly and still didn't get it right. No communication what so ever, you have to call them in order to get anything done because they do not call you like they said they will. They told us a part for our water heater would need to be ordered and would let us know in a couple of days, this was march 7th, 10 days later we had to call to find out where the part is and they said they ordered it. I called today March 23rd and was now told that we have to order the part by the manufacturer, you do the math, from the 7th to the 23rd to tell us this after being lied to that they ordered the part.
Company not worth your time, stress, and money

If I could give a 0 star rating I would! This is by far the WORST company we have ever dealt with. Unfortunately for us, we had no choice to use them because it is the company our home warranty company used. Has to be the only reason they are still in business.. They came out to fix our water heater and somehow unplugged the refrigerator in our garage. I noticed this about 36 hours after they had come out and by that time ALL our food had become useless. We notified them and it took almost three weeks for someone to come out (for what I don't know) and then almost another two weeks for them to say they sent a letter that was never sent. After repeated phone calls someone shows up at my doorstep unannounced with a letter basically saying it was us that unplugged the refrigerator and a good faith check for $75... The food was worth double that if not more. Please, please DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AJ BONO PLUMBING!!!!

Review changed from 1 star to 3 stars after I went to the office to talk to the general manager. After 1 hour, he decides he understand what I'm going through and assure me that they do care about their customer, he wishes to get my business again and assures me a better experience next time. Explained to me how the plumbing works and why this happened, how this is just an unfortunate event how my home warranty company, the plumbing company and my leak didn't work out.
Here's the story:
I had them come out to fix a leak in the tub through American Home Shield. For 2 times, they say they don't see a leak. The 4th time out, they say it's the gasket (according to their record, my complex plumber recommended that action, I need to find out more about this), so they schedule to have the gasket changed. 5th time out, change the gasket, still leaking. 6th time out, OH! It's the caulking...they don't fix caulking.
So, after all these, I need to pay for the texturing on my neighbor's wall for a hole to change the gasket that didn't need to be changed.

I've had Jose and Felipe from AJ Bono complete 2 different jobs on my home. The work was done professionally and for a competitive price.
I had to give it 4 stars because they did not show up on time to the jobs. Based on the reviews this seems to be a trend. I wish they would set more realistic expectations.

These guys were contractor for my home warranty company. Where do i begin? They were late on the first appointment. Then rescheduled because it was to dark to see into the pipes. Then could'nt come out for another 4 days. Then no call no show on that appointment after i waited an entire Saturday for them to show. Finally they came and could'nt find the problem. They returned the next day with a camera. Couldn't get the camera to go properly into my pipes. Reinstalled the toilet crooked and leaked. Supposedly fixed a leak in my kitchen sink pipes which started leaking two days later. Still could not find the clog in my system. Pulled out a sensing device and told me the pipe that ran down the side of my house was bent and would have to be dug up and replaced, and that it wasn't covered under warranty cause it was outside my foundation. Quoted me $3,400 to fix. I called my warrant company and told them to send someone else, and the said that was the contract they had in my area. So i called AJ Bono and told them to send their best technician this time, pipes lasted 6 months before they started leaking again. Meanwhile i found someone else to do the work for $2000. That was a mistake because they had misdiagnosed the problem. Once the pipe was replaced, my system was still clogged. Finally i called a competent plumber who found within 5 minutes what was wrong and fixed it for $325.
I then called to talk to the owner to explain how bad of service i had recieved and that his company's misdiagnosis had cost me $2,000. He seemed very nice and said he would check into it and get back to me next week. After 3 weeks of trying to get him to call me back, he basically told me to get lost, and if i wanted compensation he would see me in court. Horrible Company, Horrible management and Owner, take my advice and stay away from AJ BONO. Your only asking to be screwed over.
