I would not recommend this company for plumbing services. Originally there There was a slow drain. No communication whatsoever the employee told me that I needed to replace a pipe that would cost $300 didn't explain or breakdown the charges. It looked like a $30.00 pipe so I said shouldn't I just purchase a new sink for that cost? He agreed and said yes. told me in the meantime everything still worked but i would still have a slow drain. He didn't put sink back on properly so water leaked. Had to come back to put sink back on properly so didn't tell me snaked it and then handed me a $300 bill I said didn't we just go over this I just ordered a new sink. He said but you called and said you wanted me to come back and fix the sink. Manager then called to explain the charges. So then ceiling started to leek because while snaking they broke the pipe which they explained later could happen with an old home. I think i should have been warned of that. Called other plumbers and other plumbers said yes they usually warn people if they think house is older and this could happen but A-comfort said thats just not how they operate. I said oh thats right because there is no communication. So I Called another plumber! I can't even write the rest of what happens because there is just not enough room....But I would compare this company to Gillece..

I bought a brand new AC and furnace a while back from a comfort service. At the time when the company installed the furnace, the sales guy M told me he will offer me a free filter and one free tune up after the installation. But when I called them recently for the free tune up, the owner and sales guy told me that they did not said that before. They are very unhonorable business - please avoid with all cost. There is also a funny story about the sales guy. One morning he visited my house. (I forgot why?) He just opened my front door without knocking. I forgot to lock the front door the night before and my alarm system made a really loud noise and woke us up. Who on the earth do that? I had to buy a new smart lock because of the incident so that I can get notification every time the door is unlock for too long. When I tried to talk to them to figure out solution. The owner encouraged me to leave a negative feedback on internet. I normally don't leave reviews, especially bad reviews, but if this is suggested by the owner, I should honor his ask even though he doesn't honor his promise to me.

I've trusted in A-Comfort for many years to service all of my HVAC needs in the Pittsburgh area. I find their staff (from office personnel, technicians, to the ownership) to be professional and personable. I'd highly recommend A-Comfort Services!

Had an emergency plumbing issue and called A Comfort Service and they were there within an hour's time. They identified the issue and laid out their payment in clear and concise terms to fix my issue (broken kitchen sink faucet). Being that I didn't have a spare kitchen sink faucet I had to run out to the store to buy one, when I called the office to schedule the replacement they were able to fit me in the next day.

Everyone I dealt with at A Comfort Service - from the office to the two plumbers that showed up at my house was professional and a pleasure to deal with. I know who to call in the future for any heating/cooling/plumbing needs - A Comfort Service

I scheduled A-Comfort to come and do the usual fall lubrication and cleaning. When the technician arrived, he saw I had purchased my furnace filter from someplace else (and not through A-Comfort), so he immediately had a negative attitude saying, ""I suppose you want me to put this in your furnace?"" Next, the technician told us we needed a new heat exchanger and ignitor. He told us it was under warranty and that they could fix it, and all we would have to pay is $1,207 for ""paperwork."" When we told him we would have to think about it and we weren't prepared to make a decision that day, he decided to write a statement on the very large sticker on our furnace indicating what it needed! When the technician left, my husband opened the panel to the furnace and it was STILL COMPLETELY COVERED WITH DUST! The furnace was never cleaned, and we paid $105 for the fall lube and CLEANING. We decided to get 2 other opinions from qualified furnace companies. THEY BOTH DISAGREED with the findings and recommendations stated by the A-Comfort technician. Additionally, both companies called the manufacturer of our furnace and learned that the parts were NOT under warranty! The new quotes for work needed cost around $200!! So our furnace is repaired, runs great, and we saved ourselves $1,000. Our recommendation is that you save yourself some money and do NOT use A-Comfort Service!

It's funny that after so many years I came across this business on Yelp.

I had the ""pleasure"" of meeting the owner when he wanted TV service hooked up at his house. It was the morning after a snowfall and I needed to go on the roof. Not a flat roof, mind you. He insisted he wanted it done and I insisted I didn't want to be carried out of there on a stretcher. He said he has a body harness and a rope. I declined. During the discussion he talked about his business and how he makes his employees start at 6 or something like that and he couldn't believe I didn't show up until after 9:00 am. As if there was no snow on the roof at 6:00 am. So after going back and forth for some time he said he'd hose down the roof to melt the snow since temps were rising. He said he'd make it 'worth my while' if I could alter my schedule for the day and come back later in the afternoon instead of rescheduling for another day. He wanted TV that day! I agreed and came back 3 or 4 hours later and completed the install. I won't mention the bizarre request he made about certain channels.

After everything was done he gave me nothing.

So after seeing this business on Yelp I decided to write a buyer beware:

If one doesn't keep his word and treats those who service his house with disregard for their safety, how does he treat his employees, and more importantly, his customers?

I cannot recommend this company due to it's billing policy and lack of follow up. Technician came out and completed a repair on my furnace. I was told how much it would be up front to fix and although I felt the cost was high, I agreed. It took the technician about 20min to diagnose and fix for a total of 1hr 15min including time to go get the part. I asked for a breakdown of costs including parts and labor. The Technician told me they don't do it that way and he has an have a book they go by and there is no way to break it down.
I sent in an email and called twice asking for follow up and received no return call over 5 days. Called back today and finally spoke to a manager and received the same answer. He didn't review my ticket with me or give me any explanation of the costs beyond that's what the book stated to charge, has warranty, you are not the first person to complain about this and we are not the most expensive flat rate company in the area.
I understand how flat rate works and feel a breakdown of the costs is not too much to ask. Doing some research on the average cost of the part, what labor rates can be along with trip charge, I don't understand how they arrived at the total bill and ultimately they don't care.

On the positive side.....I knew what I was going to be charged up front and it did not change. The technicians that came out were very courteous, efficient and I am satisfied with the repair work.

In the mist of dealing with my mother's death and funeral we heard a vibration in our HVAC system. This was heard when we started the system. The system hadn't been in operation for a few months but had regular checks by A Comfort Service. My uncle was trying to help and called A Comfort Service. A service person (Jack D) responded. My uncle was there to observe due to my being very busy with arrangements. The tech (Jack) never took the top, sides or any part of the system apart but felt like the fan blade ($213), condenser fan motor with cap ($692), 1 year ESA on furnace ($235) and diagnostic fee 0f $70. This was a value rate totaling $1262. We ended up paying a $52 trip charge and a $99 diagnostic fee for a total of $151. Absolutely no appropriate diagnosis was done. The house was on the market and the next day the realtor contacted the home warranty company that my uncle was unaware of. The tech checked the HVAC system, stated that 1 part was on backward, 1 other part was upside down. He reversed the parts and the problem was fixed. I contacted a manager (Dale)at A Comfort Sevice. He said he would talk with Jack and get back to me. I called the next day after getting more details from my uncle. I was told by a secretary that he would return my call. I am still waiting. Before using A Comfort Service get a second opinion. Maybe try someone else first. My opinion is that my diagnostic fee should be refunded.

I purchased a water heater in 2008. I had a 10 yr. warranty. What did it cover-Nothing!!!
I paid over $1,100 to get it repaired. Yes repaired. Then to add insult to the outrageous fee. We had NO hot water the next morning!!! The gentleman came out spent almost two hours (while I'm waiting to go to work). Do I finally have hot water yes. Was it worth it? No. I could have purchased the same Rheem water heater for $650 brand new & had it installed for less.
I got milked...don't you!

Was in a bind with NO heat for 10 days, r/t poor service by HCA warranty assigned heating company. Called in the afternoon spoke with Maryann whom was nothing but sympathetic. Terry was the tech she dispatched. Terry had the furnace on within 30 mins, cleaning up the mess the previous company x4 techs created! It's unacceptable I had to live like I did. Salego Lower Burrell pa HCA horrible company assigned. So, kudos to Terry for my heat on and saved a ton of $$$$$.
